[X] "To myself from a few centuries later…" Is how this book begun, this has to be at least a few centuries old…

Interlude: The Poisonous Flower
AN: Calling the vote, let's see what is picked shall we...

Anyway, here is one part of Serenity's interlude, I'll see about fitting her observation of Gilgamesh later on as that is primarily comedy and wouldn't have fitted to an interlude dedicated to her backstory.

Interlude: The Poisonous Flower

From her place at the throne of heroes, something stirred her from the state of stillness she had willingly entered.

'I, am a despicable woman.'

Her first thoughts were of self-condemnation, as if she needed to affirm her own identity.

"Ye first, O silver, O iron.
O stone of the foundation, O Archduke of the Contract.
Hear me at the horizon in my graveyard of blades.
Let rise a wall against the wind that shall fall
Let the four cardinal gates close.
Let the three-forked road from the crown reaching unto the Kingdom rotate.
I hereby declare."

'A call directed to me?

But why? I, who was raised to become a flower, one whose entire body was refined to be poison.

Though I was graced with the honor of being declared Hassan-i-Sabbah, I, betrayed our Lord.

So why? Why am I to be called among the many who are more worthy of the title.'

"Your body shall serve under me.
My fate shall be your sword.
Submit to the beckoning of the Holy Grail
If you will submit to this will and this reason…Then answer!"

'The Holy Grail? Preposterous. My… no, the God that Hassan-i-Sabbah serves has no Holy Grail.'

Yet information flowed into her mind of other Hassan's seeking after the Grail.

'They had been led astray. Yet…'

She wanted to attain the grail as well.

"An oath shall be sworn here!"

'But… But, alas. There was a wish, I yearned for.

A dream, that made this body ache.

I want to touch someone.

I want to stay close to someone.

I want to feel someone's warmth.

I want to be able to do what everyone else can!

...I don't want to kill anyone.'

"I am the one to overcome all battlefields.
I am the one whose body will forever remain at the hill of swords."

Even so, to achieve that wish she would have to do so again.

That is what she thought at the time. After all, it was her purpose and reason for existing.

'But, I exist for the sake of killing.

I kill and kill. A touch, and I kill. A caress, and I kill. A dance, and I kill.

A hug, and I kill. A kiss, and I kill.

No matter what I want.

I am a weapon that continues to kill. An assassin. A fatal poison.

Regardless of what may happen, that alone shall never change.'

"From the Seventh Heaven, attended to by three greet words of power,
Come forth from the ring of restraints,
Protector of the Holy Balance!"

That was why she answered the call.

And she met him, her Master and lord for this war.

This war for the Holy Grail that would grant her wish.

"I ask of you… are you my Lord for this war?"

"Yes. I will be your Master, or Lord, for this Holy Grail War. I am also the Master of Caster, will you have any problems with that?"

He reached out to her.

She should have kept her guard up, she thought as he reached for her.

Even as she felt her heart race for a moment as he expressed his desire to hold hands with her with no lust in his eyes, she reminded herself that she should not be cultivating such an artificial love once again.

This man was her lord, this was different.

But one thing stayed the same.

'Someday.

Surely.

I, shall end up killing... you as well.'

That was her proof of existence.

"No, there will be no trouble for now."

More allies for the moment would be preferable.

Her first thoughts were that it was clear why he needed another Servant when his Caster seemed… too sweet to be able to flourish in a war.

"I see… well, I'll lead you around our base then."

He was reaching out to her more insistently, she withdrew her hand with haste but suddenly her hand was held by him when she had hesitated at seeing the burst of speed.

"Eh-?! What are you…"

'Another one dead-'

"Sorry. I was curious why there weren't much callouses in your hands if you're one of the Hassan so I just wanted to check."

Why did he not die?

'How could this be? Is this an illusion? A trial from Allah or the Old Man of the Mountain?

Is this a test to see if she would stray from the path set before her again?'

The last time and final time she strayed from the path led to her death by execution personally by their founder.

Yet, it was no illusion.

She owed it to her lord's Caster, Medea, for a blessing such as this.

'Someone I can not kill... How many days, have I hoped for this. And it happened.'

They were both such kind people, unlike herself.

She entertained the selfish thought of not wanting to kill for only a moment before resolving herself.

Hassan of Serenity could not do such a thing.

This warmth and care shown by her lord and his Servant were worth fighting for, she couldn't dishonor Shirou's summoning and her oath to him by doing something as selfish as that.

For in this new temporal existence, she could savor the sensations that a normal girl could.

In this territory, she could touch the small birds that perched on the trees, the flowers that grew on the mountain and the small butterflies that fluttered around Medea when the Mage prayed to her pagan idols in the gardens.

Her lord did not mind her clinging onto him as she craved his touch.

Her Master would reward her with head pats when she obeyed his orders to "enjoy herself", which she understood as entertaining herself with modern pleasures like video games and enjoying his cooking.

Shirou Emiya, a most considerate Master who catered to her dietary desires even if she did not require food to exist.

If his enemies lived, then she would lose him.

'All I can do, is kill. If I can be useful to you, then… I will devote myself to you. Until the very end. Even if you were to kill me to attain your wish. I would... never kill you. I don't... want to kill you.'

If there was some other way then... ah, but there is no way something so pleasant could happen, right?

Well, I for one, is much more interested in Assassin Miyu.

Quite interesting that the assassin card default to Serenity when it was used by Miyu. Though, I can see the similarity. You just want to pat her head.

Makes the fan speculation that the Assassin card gives out random Hassans per use/user pretty solid.

Sasuga EMIYA! Projection truly is a versatile magecraft!

Found this somewhere, it seems that EMIYA has a crazy good memory.

From this thread, translating the FGO Summer Race Opening Ceremony, a snippet of the relevant part.

[ You leyshift to the singularity, and are greeted by an amazing sight: The race track has been set-up and the stands are packed. There is a giant screen display, and it seems that everything was prepared by Ishtar. She must have put a lot of money into it. Mashu tells you that it is not just the equipment, but Ishtar has also paid to hire the staff for the race. The expenditure must be tremendous.

Emiya has set up a stall at his own discretion, attempting to enhance the experience for the spectators by providing his services. He is selling things like doner kebabs, frankfurters, yakisoba and shaved ice.

Emiya:
And this super high-heat griddle pan for steak that I projected just for this day…!
Hm… it's too perfect, it looks like I did it again.

Jack:
Uncle, one cotton candy, ple~a~se~!

Nursery Rhyme:
Ple~a~se~!

Emiya:
Cotton candy… you say…!? ...That's right. It is certainly something required for a summer stall.
It was a blind spot. If I'm not mistaken, the machine for making cotton candy is…
Emiya projects it.

Emiya:
Something like this. Here's your order, little misses. Would you like more caramel with that?
After the two happily take their cotton candy and go off, Ibaraki approaches the stall, staring at the candy.

Ibaraki:
Cloud. That cloud-like thing. Can it be eaten…?

Emiya:
Of course it can be eaten. It is just sugar melted into a cotton-like state and made into candy.
If you have the QP, I can prepare as much of it as you want. There's no such thing as a free lunch after all.
Ibaraki promptly buys two people's share of the cotton candy.

Meanwhile, George is taking photos of the place. He is proud of the composition and subjects of his photos, and thinks that he may be fitting for the role of recording events.
Liz is also here too, in her bikini armour. She seems to be enjoying the summer race a lot. ]

It's related to cooking.

Of course he would memorize how to make a cotton candy machine.
