An Enuma Elish that was fired by half of a class card, which are already weaker than their servant counterpart.

Still, it's an attack that has a Homunculus with absurd prana capacity increasing her prana further through the Emiya tradition of turning your insides to circuits, then pumping them up and firing them with 2 True-Magic Mystic codes, so I'd say it deserves that EX.

Unlike Balmung.
At that point it was the whole class card since Ko-Gil joined with it before the fight started.
And i'm also reasonably sure that the Kaleidosticks are far more bullshit than shown so far. They are essentially sentient versions of the Wizard Marshals Jeweled sword with a magical girl skin.

Wasn't the other half with that other girl? Angel or something?
Nope, Angelica got the card after Ilya blew up Berserk Gilgamesh.

She forgot a cardinal rule: Always loot.

Kaleidoscope works off the principle of reflection and refraction. She basically put two mirrors facing each other and then drew power from the reflections.

Don't hate on ma boi.

FGO did him enough wrongs.

And the only thing that frustrates me about prisma ilya is that for all the cool stuff that has strong in universe implications happening in that story - I can't take any of it seriously. At all. I can't hear 'ilya managed a draw in a beam war with enuma elish' and go 'what, the white haired loli?'

Its painful.

But other than that... how the hell was there anything left after that draw? Wouldn't that have meant that more power was constantly being put into a noble phantasm whose attack isnt so much an explosion or usage pf force as it is unraveling the binds of creation? That... kinda doesnt leave much of anything behind so I imagine the splash effect generated fucked up a lot of stuff.

Just... how do you beam war with anything equivalent to that and not just die from the backsplash?

By constantly displacing Enuma Elish into the deep space of alternate universes? Ilya's attack looked like the depths of outer space, didn't it? It's the only thing I can imagine as a shred of justification for the world not ending during that entire mess.

True, that.

You know what that sounds like?

Fan fiction.

...I mean, just look at it:

Random girl living a normal life gets contracted by a device created by one of the strongest people in the planet.
Random girl discovers she's actually from an awesome family of mages, but still has to hide magic from some of her family.
A dark clone of the protagonist that represents her 'original self', and later becomes an ally after being defeated.
Excessive fan service.
A Harem-protag Shirou that everyone has feelings for.
An epic OP Shirou from another dimension.
Epic OP Shirou is Edgy and was angsting over being a hero, but decided that an OC is more important.
Sakura doing something that is not evil or irrelevant.
Shinji being a threat.
Unlimited Blade Works tracing Excalibur.
Protagonist can not only acquire the power of many people from the canon setting, but also has a Super-special power that can match the strongest attack known in canon.
Protagonist wants everyone to be happy and to save the world.
A bunch of other things I don't remember.

Sounds familiar?

The same thing happened with Enkidu and Gilgamesh doing an Enuma Elish off. The effects canceled out, because Gilgamesh wipes the world away and then Enkidu creates a new world over it. You just need to make more world than it can burn away.

Raw Kaleidoscopic blast substitute "create more world" with "shove chunks of other dimensions into the blast faster than it can erase it, until the card runs out of power.

Really the harder to digest part is how she's not a cloud of ashes after channeling that much power...though to be fair she's designed to be the vessel of the Grail and thus unlimited power is in her tolerances.

And finally this is kind of off topic. We got a thread for FGO/Prisma Ilya general discussion. This is for best onii-chan.

Indeed. Let's get back on track!

Didn't Heracles and Ilya attack the Temple at some point before canon? That's probably going to become relevant very, very soon.

But most watchers exactly compare them and exactly like that - so F/Z is "awesome proper Grail War" and F/SN is "shit show of failures, do not worth watching".
Just cause there aren't as many explosions doesn't make a show unwatchable, and quiet a lot of people still like the story told in F/SN.

Scale means nothing when dealing with character interactions, so you can't say that the 'proper Grail War' is inherently more watchable unless you want to take a shallow interpretation and deny the moments of awesome in F/SN.

I'd also put a fair bit of the shift in attitudes between the two series down to the events of Fate/Zero. 7 exceptional magi enter, and only one comes out mostly intact while no-one gets their wish and a large area is destroyed by a 'malfunctioning' grail... Doesn't sound like a worthwhile investment of time to me, or in any way worth the risk.

Combined with the withering of the Matou line, the destruction of the El-Melloi crest, the fact that the Tohsaka family is reduced to a single self taught magus, and the disappearance of the Magus Killer... Yeah, no wonder two of the outsiders were of the overconfident and foolhardy variety (though if Bazett wasn't betrayed I suspect she might have rapidly swept the other pairs until she ran up against Heracles...).

TL:DR - when dealing with stuff the scale of the conflict doesn't determine the watchability if character interactions are good.

Several things...

1) Serenity's character sheet is done.

Name: Hassan of Serenity (Nickname of another timeline: Mary)
Master: Shirou Emiya
Height: 161 cm
Weight: 42 kg
Source: Historical Facts, Old Man of the Mountain
Region: Middle-East
Alignment: Lawful Evil
Class: Assassin

Parameters:
  • Strength: D
  • Endurance: D
  • Agility: A+
  • Magic: B
  • Luck: A
  • Noble Phantasm: C
Class Skills:

Presence Concealment: A+

Personal Skills:

Independent Action: A
She possesses the skill of Independent Action as a personal skill rather than part of her class. It is high enough for her to be able to survive for a few days if she kills her Master, while consuming human souls.

Projectile (Daggers): C
Just like the other Hassans, she also wield dirks for both short-range and long-range combat, slicing up her opponents in an instant with dance like movements. However, unlike the dirks wield by the Cursed-Arm Hassan or the Hundred Face Hassan, her personal dirks are white kunai-shaped daggers.

Shapeshift: C
Her Shapeshift skill allows her to disguise herself. She usually takes on the guise of a pure and innocent looking maiden and her appearance is extremely bewitching to men, who look at her full of lust and disregard caution just to go to her. Even in her Servant form, she is still shown to be extremely alluring.

Poison Resistance: C+

Noble Phantasm

Zabaniya: Delusional Poison Body : C+ (Anti-Unit, potentially Anti-Army)

Zabaniya: Delusional Poison Body is the ability possessed by the Hassan of Serenity, an attempt by the Order to replicate the Indian Visha Kanya (Poison Girl).

Her body resists all sorts of poisons and, at the same time, is a lump of poison. Let alone her nails, even her skin and body fluids would act as deadly poisons.

It makes the entirety of her body poisonous to the touch and even the sweet aroma that emanates from her is poison in and of itself. She prefers embracing her victims and kissing them on the lips, using the poison to fry their brains in a few seconds, but any form of contact with her is fatal, no matter how small.

It is said that this Hassan possessed the power to spread this deadly poison on the wind, wiping out entire armies if necessary, but also lacking in the capacity to discern friend from foe, making it equally devastating to her allies.

2) Archer wished he thought of Gun-Blades first...

3) There's an Illya Alarm Clock App that is way too cute. But seriously, if you download it, go turn yourself over to this police officer here...

4) This Fate/Kaleid Prisma Shirou movie ticket artwork makes Shirou so COOL

5) I would have worked on the Zouken fight... but my grandfather's condition suddenly worsened. Clearly I do not feel like killing off another "Grandfather" for the next upcoming hours.

It's likely he won't make it. I've been in the hospital for the past few hours until recently, will see how it goes after some sleep.

He's 91+ years old, but he's survived all sorts of stuff and just recently, got through pneumonia at his age. I swear he has either Robust Health or Battle Continuation at Rank E- ...

Best of wishes. Its never easy having family in the hospital.

Old men tend to be far tougher than we give them credit for. My own grandfather often went on long walks. They were so long I can't even even cover half their distance without needing to take a break.
Kept him so healthy I often wondered if he would live forever.

I guess all I can say is...I hope everything goes well.
Take your time.

Oh my how terrible! If only we had something that made her allies immune to her poison!

2) Archer wished he thought of Gun-Blades first...
Well EMIYA is nothing but a dirty faker. Always going around stealing everyone else's hard earned noble phantasms.

Best wishes for your grandfather.

I will just say that those are terrifying stats for an Assassin with a one touch one kill technique...

A+-Rank Agility suggests that she'll be either stupidly fast or stupidly agile, and A-Rank Luck is similarly terrifying. B-Rank Mana suggests she could learn some degree of magecraft if she wants, and C-Rank Shapeshifting, while not Tamamo's nonsense level is still a scary ability when combined with Assassins A+-Rank Presence Concealment. Sure she may only have D-Rank Strength and Endurance, but those matter little to an assassin with her abilities.

But we aren't discussing quality of F/SN in comparison to F/Z. Or coherency of story. Just "did F/Z stole thunder from F/SN" and "did F/Z made F/SN protagonists look stupid noobs in comparison" and answer is solid YES to both. So if Myuu!Shirou stole thunder of Kaleid!Shirou then Kiritsugu stole F/SN Shirou's.

Best wishes for your grandfather. Really hope he gets better, I lost my grandfather a few years back and wouldn't wish it on anyone else.

Most merciful Jesus, lover of souls, I pray you by the agony of your most sacred heart, and by the sorrows of your Immaculate mother, to wash in your most Precious Blood the sinners of the world who are now in their agony, and who will die today.

Heart of Jesus, once in agony, have mercy on the dying.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I give you my heart and my soul. Assist me in my last agony, and grant that I may breath forth my soul in peace with you. Amen.

Your last sentence there just makes my point...

Miyuu!Shirou can be equated to Kaleid!Shirou, as they have both lived the same lengths of time and as such a comparison can be made. However, equating Kiritsugu in his prime with a Shirou who is only learning what he's actually capable of is never gonna be fair, and Kiritsugu will always appear significantly more composed and in control.

Fate/Zero and Fate/Stay Night cannot be directly compared due to the different themes, time periods and participants, however the Kaleid! And Miyu! timelines can as they share enough similarities, and direct comparisons can be made since the characters meet.

Actually they can't be compared any more than F/SN Shirou and Kiritsugu. Because their lives are vastly different - to a degree that Myuu!Shirou have more in common with Kiritsugu than with his Kaleid counterpart. There is exactly zero things Kaleid Shirou could've done to get on the level of Myuu Shirou. He simply don't have neither relevant knowledge nor access to proper teacher. It's impossible for him to get better. If anybody fails his comparison to Myuu Shirou it's F/SN Shirou as he had both (even if teacher was much less willing).
Fate/Zero and Fate/Stay Night cannot be directly compared due to the different themes, time periods and participants, however the Kaleid! And Miyu! timelines can as they share enough similarities, and direct comparisons can be made since the characters meet.
1. People compare F/Z and F/SN all the time and don't give a shit about "different themes".
2. Despite being in the same work Kaleidverse and Myuuverse as as different as F/SN and F/Z, including background themes, so if it's argument for F/SN - F/Z then it's argument for those too.

Hmm, my grandfather has passed away, thank God it was a peaceful one.

I made my peace with it last night already. So I'm pretty much all right. I think my father and uncle felt similar, although they were impacted more.

Thanks for all for the well wishes. I appreciate the thought out written responses and will go through them properly later on.

I already have enough 'sorry for your losses' and 'condolences' so don't worry about it.

I was already there when my grandmother died a few years back and the doctors had already prepared us since yesterday evening. He had outlived almost all his friends by this point.

At any rate... back the the thread topics. See next post ->

Snippet of new EMIYA remix, I think its titled "Sight of the End" and its either the most Shounen or the most darkest desperate version of EMIYA.

The Japanese that watched the movie are loving it according to twitter. And so far its universally agreed that Emiya is so cool.

That's a pretty good remix. I've never heard a version of EMIYA that sounds dark and desperate. Mostly because whenever EMIYA plays it's because Shirou or Archer is doing something awesome and saving the day.

Too bad I have to wait a few months to finally see a copy of the movie. Unless I want to go to the trouble of tracking down a decent bootleg.
