The only reason I'm considering Nellis is because of the stuff there honestly, mostly the howitzer artillery guns they found nearby.
On the other hand, Mr. House's robot army is right next to hoover dam and could be a huge find.
Wonder if there is a faction in hoover dam right now?

This is what i want to do.

[ ] Explore the area

[ ] Prospective Salvage

[ ] Checking the Waves

[ ] On the March: North

if there is well cocks gun I am sure we could come to a understanding 😛 also if there is we can go somewhere near it like boulder just somewhere by lake mead

Main thing to consider is a good defensive area. Its cool to stay by Lake but if its a compromised as shite area it aint worth it.

How bad would it be if we just set up where we are, infront of the vault?

Well you can certainly try to do that XD

Even igroning how good lake mead is/the hoober dam I don't want to head to Nellis since that what we did in canon and is just retreading history it also just not as good as other options too

That's fair enough. Of course, there's nothing stopping you from going a route different from the isolationism of the canon Boomers, but the choice in where to go is ultimately up to you guys.

I did mention at the start of this quest that there may be AU elements due to expanding the world out and removing limitations imposed by Bethesda and the reality of the setting being in a game. Between that, it being earlier then the game start, and a few minor adjustments or additions I may make myself, well, in canon it might've been left abandoned until the NCR arrived, but here there very well could be either people inhabiting the Dam or a damn good reason as to why no one's occupied it, since such a reason wasn't given in-canon.

All of that remains to be seen.

Honestly, I want Nellis too. Im not familiar with the Vegas area and just the map but from what I remember, its already a good spot. The boomers were able to become Isolationists simply because it was that good that they can do so.

We can head to the same area but we can still do different policies. Plus using the Geck at the air base would make it and the surrounding town Grade A living places that we would need to defend in case any raiders try to come in and take it from us by force. And the way to Nellis is defendable enough since its just a road between two hills. (Though may change cause it is AU)

[] Plan: no need to rush
- [ ] Set up camp
- [ ] Explore the area
- [ ] Checking the Waves
- [ ] Study the Wildlife: Golden Gecko

We Set up for a turn, and get a lay of the land, Check any radio waves, and study the hostile wildlife some. Next turn, as a follow up would be, Pick up camp, salvage, Forage, Choosen Direction.

I think it might be a good idea to set up a temporary camp for a turn to explore the area and let our people get use to being outside before we try to migrate somewhere.
I personally think Nellis is a good place to start up since it was a military base which our people would like settling there and we know it's easier to defend.
I would like to avoid other factions until we get permanently established.

[X] Plan: no need to rush

I leave this since i am going to bed so good night everyone.

Just a thought but what are our thoughts on the NCR and Legion. If we do go the route of Boulder City/Hoover Dam area, the current cast's descenadants are gonna have to deal with them both jockeying for the dam. With the Legion most likely just trying to conquer us and the NCR using diplomatic and economic coersion to get us to join the republic.

I'm not the most familiar with Fallout lore but if Boulder city is intact due to it being before the war for the Hoover Dam wouldn't it also be currently occupied ?

IIRC, this is pre-game so everything is most likely intact and occupied by small settlements and traders.

Just to say now, I do not want to touch Vegas even with a 10-foot pole. Too hot of a location

I was thinking looting/salvage expeditions to grab whatever we can to even the playing field.
Send people to the other vaults to see how they are doing and if they want to join us.
Open up citizenship to wastelanders.
Find, loot and repair robots. All the robots.
Maybe do the Helios one quest to get a WMD for defense.

I'm thinking Bittersprings or where Ranger station Bravo. It's out of the way and open enough for the G.E.C.K. and the Lady is just right there.

Not sure if the Khans are there and that small problem of Cazadores south.

Or that one Ranch, far east near Red Rock Canyon, a lake right there with those small mantis and free range Big Horns

The NCR doesn't do diplomacy, from what Fallout 2's info they force small settlements to join them by the 'Gunboat' policies and destabilize them to make them join...

they def do dip if diplo and econmic pressure does not work at first then they force them to join but well if we are sitting at the best stragetic asset in the region with a massive amount of firepower to boot in a good defensive postion...tough luck for them they will just have to pay some caps for the power esp since it so out the way they won't be able to force it

Didnt they have a war just to get said power? IIRC, House also knew he couldnt beat the NCR juggernaut so he went a played nice with them instead with the platinum chip as his card to get our of their yoke?

no not really to my knowledge house saw the ncr coming up the region awakened his army and was like this is my dam but we can make a deal, he wanted good realtionship with the ncr and a good realtionship with them if he forced them out of the dam and made them leave with the few forces there which he tottaly could do that would be a hostile realtionship. He wants his dream of a new vegas bring in money and stuff to the city revaltizing, he even says in game he likes the ncr there his biggest customters after all his only problem with them is them trying to take over new vegas, he perfectly fine sitting in new vegas building up and making rockets eventully and let the ncr have the rest
