(Non-Canon) GECK for dummies
Overseers Office, Vault 34
Nevada
Post-war USA
01 March 2231

Alliera, having just finished going over most of what needs to be done to get things going made her way to the Overseers office... Her office now, for all of 3 days. Exasperated at being ignored, only for it to blow up in their faces, literally.
As she entered the office she took it all in, having been here a few times already she didn't notice anything special, Alliera made her way to the Overseers chair and took a seat, she looked at the paperwork and grimaced 'I probably need to go thru this soon' she thought.
Ignoring the desk she looked at the terminal only to notice a paperback manual stuck beneath the monitor, probably to get the viewing angle right.
'Sighing' at old man Buckley's quirks while shaking her head she reaches for it and pulls it out, carefully as not to break the terminals monitor or damage the pages.
She sits back in the comfy Overseers chair and flips the paperback face up and reads aloud 'G.E.C.K TUTORIAL' further down the page she reads
'How to operate your G.E.C.K for dummies' - Vaultech
....
Even with her brilliant mind, the figurative hammer called realization hit her like a truck.
It took an unusually long 5 seconds for her to jump up and start shouting for George, the officer in charge(security) to get his ass here now, even activating the vault speaker system and shouting for him to get to the office asap!
....
An out of breath man barges into the Overseers office, Alliera doesn't even give him a chance to catch his breath. Shoving the G.E.C.K paperback in his face asking loudly enough for the worried people outside to hear 'Where is the G.E.C.K!!'

~Let me know if I need to add/fix anything to pass. Also I used George from the main character selection, if he died with the others let me know and I'll change that bit.~

A nice little omake, although I'll probably consider this non-canon, as the GECK was known about beforehand- just being inaccessible due to the lack of an all-clear signal arriving.

That being said, it being non-canon doesn't disqualify it, so you get a +5 to add on to whatever roll you want to in the future. Just make sure to specify what you want to apply it to when it comes up.

Apologies for the triple post, but seeing as how things have quieted down some and the Moratorium only has an hour left on it, I will be opening the vote a bit early.

You have 48 hours to vote, starting now.

Could you use it to prevent a failure roll? Dunno if that's allowed.
Example: Open the Doors Chance of Success: 50%. Dice rolls 47, use omake to get 47+5 to prevent failure.

The bonus can only be applied beforehand. That being said, if the action it's applied to does narrowly fail as shown in that example, the +5 can bring it over the edge.

Also, you can save the omake bonus if you want to. It doesn't need to be immediately used.

There's roughly 24 hours left to vote, so if anyone hasn't voted yet who wanted to, now is the time to do so.

So if we relocate to Hoover Dam or Boulder City, we've got prime real estate. To the west is Vault 11 and uh, well we all know that there's no opposition there so we can raid that shit. Slightly above Vault 11 is the 188 Trading Post, might be a good place to set up trade or a look out point since it's a major choke point. A bit aways Southwest is Helios One, and directly South of Boulder City is the Wind Farm.

Man, that's like three separate ways to attain a sustainable source of power at our fingertips. Given that there's a thousand of us I honestly believe the smart play would be to have three groups constantly at the Dam, Helios One, and the Wind Farm, and use Boulder City as the central point of location. Given that we have, what, sixty years until the main plot of New Vegas kicks off, there's a lot we could do in that time.

spliting the group feel like a bad idea esp while thousand people is a lot it still not enough to secruely hold those three locatison esp when they are kind of far apart from each other and when there a lot of wandering raider or other groups throughout the wasteland. Just splitting the group is a bad idea imo we should choose one location(hoooooover dam gang) and stay there build it up secure our postion then maybe start to expand cause honestly we wouldn't have that much reason to expand we have all the power we need at the dam or helios one we wouldn't need anymore and wouldn't have anything to use it for since we have more much more power than we know what to do with. Until the ncr get conntected in the region we be holding onto helios one when we already have enough power at the dam for reasons. Again a thousand people is a lot but spilitting will weaken on of our main strength our number better to stick at the dam mainly as one big group in a strong defensive postions that way no raider groups will hit us with our massive numbers and firepower

Takeover Novac, Nelson, and Repcon. becoming a toll- trade town and building pipes to connect Water to Nelson which can be used to make a farm that can be used for trade in Novac.

Repcon can be our R&D hub and if we can strip Helios of some Solar Panals, instead of dealing with NCR or BoS, we can have our own energy to use.

Keep in mind that when you leave the Vault, you won't know anything about how the surface has changed, along with more specific details. Things like roads and pre-war towns and settlements you will know the location of, as well as more unique and important places like Hoover Dam and Nellis AFB. Smaller size things, such as Helios, Repcon HQ, and even other Vaults will be unknown as of this moment, although actions can be done that might show where these are at or their general existence. So planning as if your people know of these types of locations immediately isn't advised.

There will also be differences involved with these locations, such as who or what may be there, due to both it being decades before the start of NV timeline wise and everything being upscaled from game-size and limitations. A very simplistic example of this would be, for example, Nellis AFB and Hoover Dam having AA weaponry on-site that wasn't there in game, the former due to it being a major air base and the later due to pre-war House-investment. That will also mean the possibility of inhabitants (civilized or hostile), or lack of inhabitants, being different.

I imangie we will also have to deal with the region will be very nomadic with many wandering groups as many of the tribes in new vegas and the ones who didn't get chosen were
