The gas suit you were given didn't fit, but you made it work. The suit was clearly made for large, full grown men while you were a short eighteen year old woman. You managed to stuff your puffy black hair underneath the hood and made sure it was airtight, with a simple air spell, and discovered that Riya was right, it smelled like charcoal. The filter didn't restrict breathing though, which was nice. The single visor glass meant you could still see pretty much fine, though it was difficult to hear. And your ears were crushed. And your tail was stuffed down your pant leg, which was an awful experience to sit on. Fuck, this was going to suck.
After kissing Gunther goodbye and explaining why he couldn't come, takeoff was simple enough. You circled town a few times with Edgar, watching as the airship ascended with Riya's blue monoplane hanging from the bottom. She decided to stay on the airship until you all got close, and then you'd circle the city a few times to look for Monika. You stuck to a relatively low altitude of about six hundred meters, just high enough to keep you in the clouds, but not low enough to be spotted by "Die Geister". You knew of the existence of shades, but had thankfully never encountered one. You hoped today wouldn't change that. The wind picked up as you approached the swirling vortex of snow and poison, flying over increasingly dead looking swamplands and forests, and you could feel the temperature beginning to drop. The mercury thermometer on your dashboard started to drop, and though your enchanted dress and gas suit provided some insulation, you could feel it getting colder. When snow started to pepper your visor, you looked back at the thermometer. 0°. Then -5°. It kept dropping.
You could see the outline of buildings through the baby blue haze over them now. Towering grey structures like you'd never seen before. It would be awe inspiring, if not for the circumstances. You had two competing voices about it. The first was from your coven, who told you cities were a monument to madness, the greatest examples of the endless expansion, exploitation, and infection of the patriarchy across the continent distilled into smog-choked concrete hellscapes full of the economically and culturally enslaved. The other felt at least a bit sad that you missed it. Even if all you heard was true, seeing such a monument live would be interesting in and of itself. Whatever, no use crying over it. Even if it was a graveyard. Full of shades. And frozen corpses. And cannibal survivors.
You flew into a cloud while lost in thought. The airship flipped its floodlights on to make sure you knew where it was, so you weren't flying blind, but it was still a bit nerve wracking. The wind was getting truly frightening now, and you could feel heavy snow starting to smack against the left side of your head. You noticed flashing lights to your left as well, looking like a signal. Turning, it was Edgar with a signal light flashing Morse code at you.
L-O-O-K-W-I-N-G-S-I-C-I-N-G
He flashed with blistering speed, pointing at your left wing. You looked up at the parasol and saw what he was talking about, ice was starting to form on your wings from flying straight for too long. You banked left and right a little and shattered some of the ice pieces, but you knew this was going to be an issue. You signed back

with one hand. Well, you just gave him a thumbs up but that was synonymous with the actual sign. Suddenly, the airship let out two thunderous blasts from its horn, alerting you that you were now right above the city. Riya's plane detached from the airship and started flying alongside you and Edgar.
Alright! Time to explain the plan you definitely have for finding and rescuing Monika! In order to look with your eyes, you will have to dip below the clouds, so down at least 1 Altitude band. So unless you have some other way to search, you're probably gonna have to dip down a bit. The characters outlined whatever plan we'll be using beforehand, so don't worry about coordination, they know what to do.
Temperature currently is a brisk -90°C, meaning it's Frozen. That means I have all sorts of fun hard moves to throw your way! Also, there's a silly 4 Segment clock called Icing that increases when you roll Air Patrol and at the end of combat that reduces stability and max speed by one every time it's ticked!
