Do not underestimate Robert. Even though he is shit at ruling, his skills on the battlefield are to be feared. There is a reason he is called the Demon of the Trident and he is by no means an incompetent strategist or tactician. We cannot get complacent against Robert, and Cersei is quite the wildcard herself, proving to be decent at intrigue. Again, do not underestimate them.

PS. I see you are reading the A Man of Iron series @Magoose. You are in for a treat. One of the best fanfics I have read, easily among the ranks of Harry and the Shipgirls and Constellations.

... Belive me...

You might not be right.

you want the numbers to be huge next turn.

And the dice already gave you a nat 100.
[furiously returns to writing omakes]

Some questions about V and his abilities/skills before composing a blade vote: what's his preferred weapon or style, what's he best at ... and what does Jaime think he needs most if he were to face off against Robert (besides a metric fuckton of Vaeltigar(TM) luck)? For instance: is a greatsword his best weapon, or does he perform better with a longsword/long-knife combo? Is he more comfortable with matching-sized blades or mismatched? Does Jaime think he needs a particular weapon or style to counteract Robert's style/choice of weaponry?

"To the Weak Snake, Viserys Targaryen,

Your subversive actions against the Kingdom of Westeros has become a most maddening depression on the people of my kingdom. Your actions continue in the crimes against the people of Westeros of your Mad Father, Aerys the Burner.

Your attempts to sow disunity in my realm through agents and subterfuge have failed. Your agents have been hung, their wealth confiscated, and you are named an enemy of the realm.

To come to this kingdom invites death to you and all who follow you.
You will die in the east and never return home.

Signed.

Robert Baratheon."
[jk] Dear Lardarse,

I see gratitude for generous gifts is not a skill taught in the Stormlands, nor is respect for one's betters. But that is not your gravest mistake.

You see, you have fallen victim to one of the Classic Blunders! The most famous of which is "Never get involved in a land war in Sothoryos," but only slightly less well known is this: "Never assume who or what you have found is something Viserys Targaryen didn't want you to find." I'm sure hanging and robbing people completely guiltless of any crime played very well for your lords, especially when a few of them were, in fact, guilty of supporting you while not being observant enough to notice a trail of sweets that I left for you to predictably follow to them and make the worst possible decision.

Classic Blunder #3: "Never go in against a dragon when your natural state is as a thoughtless prey animal."

Signed,
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA [collapses]

It is suprising where you can go if you look like you belong, no matter how crazy that might seem

the more i watch that video the more sure i am that it would be something Jamie and viserys would do just to prove they can. viserys to show how amazing he is at intrigue and Jamie because he's calling viserys bluff.

other wacky shenanigans would include vis pretending to be the countries youngest elected official and no one calling him on it so he just gets put in charge. Danny accidentally starting a cult trying to make friends and Jamie fighting an entire criminal syndicate by himself making people think he's a real like batman, which he then tries to be.

what I'm getting at is modern day au when?

it's basically the best sitcom ever!

There isn't really much Jaime can say, because Robert has size, stregnth, reach and experience advantage over Viserys.

The only thing Viserys has is Valyrian Steel Armor.

well we have the sword dance and Jamie seems to be training us in longsword so let's just go with that.

Honestly, less than a sword we need something to complete our armor. We have one chink through which we may easily be killed: Our face. And you can make something far more precise and outwardly delicate with valyrian steel than with any breed of iron.

I also suggest that this be the last time we use the titles "King of the Andals, the First Men and the Rhynor" and "King of the Iron Throne ".

Let us return to the title given to Aegon by his sister-wife Rhaenys when he broke soil at Aegonford, before it became King's Landing: 'King of All Westeros and Shield of His People'.

There is no finer title than Shield of His People.

Any comment on what weapons and/or styles Viserys is/feels best at?
Not really. Mostly because Jaime... kinda isn't the greatest teacher and giver of advice.

Pretty much.

Well, of course.

The sword we have is a great sword, wouldn't it be a waste to turn it into a long sword?

I think Robert is fucked.

But that doesn't mean we'll win. I have uppity flashbacks to Rob's campaign against the Lannisters, where a superior force overcame inferior numbers, but still took heavy losses.

And we all remember Rob's fate.

I do not think Robert will sit on the Iron Throne at the end; but if we're unlucky, or unskilled, neither are we.

[X] Long sword
[X] Storm Breaker

If I recall Viserys isn't the greatsword type and I don't think he'll ever have the bulk or build for it. Longswords are classic and kingly. As for the name, we're making an oath to break the power that Robert Baratheon holds over Westeros. When the storm breaks, the sky is at peace and dragons can fly freely through it.

[jk] Greataxe
[jk] Stormbreaker

HE NEEDS THE AXE.

If we take it down to a longsword, what can our smith do with the leftover material? Is there enough to try at a helmet to pair with that Valyrian steel crown?
