  • [X]Read Ser Willem's Book: Ser Willem's Debt Book… You might as well give it a read, and find out what you can do.
[X]Go to the Port: You need to get onto a ship and get out of here. If there is a knight looking for you to kill you, you'd rather be as far away as possible from that man.
[X]Go to the Tavern: You need some food, and a drink, anything tastes better than salted pork.

Edit: Just too late, damn!

Viserys V: The Last Will and Testament of Ser Willem Darry
Viserys V: The Last Will and Testament of Ser Willem Darry

You and Dany moved to an alleyway out of the way of the bustling city but lit well by the morning sun.

The Black book was small, with only a hundred or so pages packed into the binding. But, you were sure there was something within the book, something important.

The first thing you did was make sure there were no prying eyes, or anyone coming towards you, that may cause you to lose any of the items that you had.

Dany stood beside you. "Viserys are you going to read that to me?" She asked.

"Not exactly Dany, but I promise you I'll read to you tonight." You replied as you began to read the book.

Most of the names were crossed out, signifying that the debts were paid in full.

But one name stuck out to you as you saw it near the end of the list.

Yours.

You turned to the page where your name and debts were on. That page, held a sealed letter, sealed with Ser Willems seal. With it, the words you had wished to see for a long time. "To Viserys and Daenarys."

You opened the letter and saw the words that fill you with joy. It seems Ser Willem had a backup plan.

"Your Grace, I write this letter in due haste, for I believe that I do not have much time before I die.

I know I have failed you, in your education, and in preparation for my own death, but I have thankfully able to leave you with this. This book is not filled with debts, no, they are filled with contacts for the continued restoration of the Targaryen Dynasty, allies of my youth when I was a mercenary, and people who will keep you safe, for you are members of the Faithful of the Seven.

I am sorry I could not tell you this, but I had to make sure that this secret would not be discovered, either by yourself or others that would seek to harm you. The best secret between three men is for two of them to be dead.

The Servents I had hired were going to betray me, and I could not warn, I hope that you discovered their treachery and planned accordingly. Only take the things needed, for my allies will keep you safe, and hopefully give you and Daenarys the education that I could not deliver you, because of my illness.

I hope to the gods that you took only the things you needed, and were not caught.

The contact I want you to meet is a man named Garret, he is a thief whom I rescued from the King's Justice when I was in Westeros three years ago when you stayed at the Sealords Palace, he will take you to a safe place in Andalos, a place where you will be safe from the knives hunting you for a time. I hope that my ally in Andalos is educated enough to teach you what I was unable to teach you, along with giving you the account number for a fund to gather forces, and for you to survive in.

He will be waiting for a moon at the Inn of the Laughing Dragon, near the Sealords Palace. If you do not find him, do not fret, he will find you.

Beware of the Knight here in the city as well, he is a member of Lord Arryn's core, and he will stop at nothing to kill you both and parade your heads to King's Landing.

I hope this last gift to you will serve you well, and keep you alive in your journey to the Iron Throne.

From Your Loyal Servant

Ser Willem Darry."

A Tear fell onto the parchment as you folded it. "Dany, come on, we're leaving."

"Where are we going?" She asked.

What do you do:

[]To the Laughing Dragon: Time to Meet this Garret. Hopefully, Willem is right in trusting such a man.

[]Go to the Port: You need to get onto a ship and get out of here. If there is a knight looking for you to kill you, you'd rather be as far away as possible from that man.

[]March to the Sealords Palace: You have a name, a name Called Targaryen. Perhaps it might not be as powerful as it was when you were a small child, but that name still meant something.

[]Flee the City: There is a Caravan going to Andalos, and then to Pentos, perhaps you can flee with them. As much as you believe Ser Willem is telling you the truth about this, there are to many variables.

[]Go to the Market: Perhaps you can find a way to make the Dragon's you have.

AN: You thought Ser Willem didn't plan for his death, turns out, you just needed to bring the book and then you've got contacts.

Time to become scarface.

Ah, Willem, you beautiful, loyal man.

Hey OP, I found a very informative blog by a history professor. He has some stuff criticizing the GOT shows depiction of medieval life that I think might be helpful to you. In particular, parts 2 and 3 of the "How it Wasn't" series. Part 2 covers religion and culture, while 3 is about political norms and institutions. Many times when I read something set in the distant past, the viewpoint characters come across as modern day secular humanist who are deeply cynical about religion, rather than as actual people from that period. I hope this helps in some way.

Anyways,

Good job Willem. Even if you didn't teach us much you at least planned for our safety and possible teachers.

I've actually read that before writing another historical quest, A Road to Life a Path to Power

It really sold to the questers about Einar as a Viking peasant, and later warlord, being a brutal, ruthless zelot who was hungry for power, and deeply religious to the Norse Gods. While he had his virtues, only his people saw them, for he was a monster

Hell, he did the blood eagle agaisnt his enemies like ten times to secure his power in Norway, and (very believably) has a slightly strained relationship with his wife due to being gone so much.
