[Exalted/SMT] Shard of a Broken Sun

[x] On the other hand, you could learn a lot by going with them.
- [x] Insert debriefing preferences here. You can explain what happened, even if Amu is unconscious. Or, if you prefer, not.

I too am far to lazy to come up with a stunt

Halp, Alectai

I dunno, if there is no good stunts after I get some shuteye, I could try my hand at my first social write-in in a loooooooong time.

But really, I hope for Alectai.

Guys. They don't really want to talk to Amu, they want to talk to Us. We already made ourselves out to be some sort of possessing entity. Ask them if it would be alright for Us to be debriefed, leaving Amu to her sleep. If they can't here us, we could use Miki or Su as a translator.

[x] On the other hand, you could learn a lot by going with them.
- [x] Ask the military men if it would be alright for them to debrief only Us, seeing as Amu's mom, alongside Miki and Su have nothing really to do with what's happening. Explain what you are, without going into details if at all possible. Explain what you learned of the beast, and exactly what happened during the fight. Ask Them about what the hell is going on, what's up with this person they were hunting that Summoned the horror you faced, and what they plan to do now, about both him and us.

Basically, agree to be interrogated, and ask questions back. We don't really want to antagonize these guys, and Amu could prove Massively helpful to them. If they survive what is to come, that is.

You lazy people, at least give it a freaking shot.

Besides, world's ending even if we catch Hikawa. And trying to catch him will only further exhaust us when the stars come to kill us.

What the hell are you talking about, we're an Exaltation Shard. Nothing more, nothing less. Shards are only supposed to Enpower their hosts, we can advise as well but anything outside of that is not our problem nor right to decide on. We explain what's going on to Amu and her Chara's and they decide what to do from their with whoever else Amu decided to bring in on the decision making (I.E. Her Mom and Dad). Besides we can't communicate with them directly, we need Miki or Su to translate.

Personally I'd say just advise Miki that Amu needs rest but if the JP want, sending a team to watch over the family/bring them to their HQ could be a good idea. These are the best, only really, options and we leave it up to Miki and Su to decide and since they're Amu in a lot of ways they can make the decision for her I think.

The end of the world via Nocturne is rather imminent now, yes. Now I suppose one could just go sleep at home and hope for the best? But is that really a wise stratagem in SMT universe? Especially if one takes in to account the author is running hard mode?

If as pressea says Hikawa can't be stopped, what options still remain?

That's the point. We don't really have any other options. We're not going to catch Hiwaka and Amu's exhausted to the point her brain started forcibly shutting down. There isn't anything we can do besides try to help Amu and everyone else still alive clean up the aftermath as best as we can.

I personally think we should have JP take Amu and her family to their HQ, potentially Ikuto and the Guardians as well since they all had/have Charas as well, but that's up to Miki and Amu's Mom to decide. All we can do is lay out the options and advise which are most likely the best.

Fuck that. Alectai will be here to save the day shortly. He isn't stupid enough to want to go home, and if he is, this thread deserves its fate.

You know what? Preemptive

[x] Alectai's plan

Now to go back to having fun elsewhere.

What a sour grape. :S

Also this post is just asking Murphy to lure Alectai away from debriefing and towards rest.

He would if I said it. Fucking Murphy. >:[

[X] Amu just needs rest, which she can likely best get at home. However, if there are security concerns and if these people have appropriate facilities, it may be prudent to go with them instead.
-[x] You can still communicate with Miki and Su while she's asleep; they doubtlessly have a number of questions for you. Furthermore, if they're willing, they can relay any answers you provide to those who are outside of your connection, so a simple debriefing is doable, if needed. Detailed explanations, however, would likely best be deferred until Amu wakes up; she'll want to hear all of this herself, after all.
--[x] Ask Su and Miki if they think Amu's friends and allies should be notified when she's close to waking up; they'd know better than you if Amu would like them there during the initial explanations, or if Amu would rather fill them in privately. Or even just to let them know that Amu's fine, should they worry.

Man, this is a mess.

Ugh, all people voting for home... can you please remember that (and we know that IC) next planned death of Amu is tomorrow. And IMHO it's something we should tell officials if maybe in different words.

To be fair, I'm all for going with them but resting BEFORE we talk. We're useless as a tired shaken bundle of tiny girl nerves. Its just that everyone who isn't for going home is doing jack all in stunting betterness.

This here's a fairly solid plan, I couldn't do much better myself.

[ ] Amu just needs rest, which she can better get at home.
-[ ] But ask the soldiers to make contact again once she got some decent sleep.

The host's health takes priority at the moment. She's burnt out and anything she could understand or say at this point is of dubious value.

Or a better plan comes up while I type.

Silly Military, we aren't a Goddess! We usually beat weak gods for launch money and can beat creators of reality with enough support and effort! Hey, about creators of reality, what will happen if we defeat someone important to the setting with Ghost Eating Technique? Underworld 2.0, something worse or something better? I suggest punching Nyarlatothep anyway, should we manage to get him.

Oh, no. They couldn't be using that; it's pretty much shut down ATM, due to an unfortunate gas leak a few days ago.

Over the last few updates, the chance of avoiding the Conception has gone from "maybe" to "Not likely" to "Damn near impossible". It is not, in fact, quite impossible yet, and I'm not just saying that because I don't believe 0 is a valid probability. Finding a path to prevent or ameliorate it is up to you, however.

So you're saying that our odds would have been better if we had taken that partial exaltation early on?

The story would have been different. That one? Hard to judge. You would have exalted under less hurried circumstances, and not dumped half the exaltation into tools needed to survive Samael, but you'd also have less to work with. And an even more broken setup.

If someone had noticed the reference to Yoyogi park, and thus Hikawa, prior to actually name-dropping him? Yes, that would have helped, but it wasn't very likely. If you had focused on keeping him from getting away, even at the cost of leaving Samael alone for a minute? You might have succeeded, but the chance of that dropped a lot once you went with Compassion 5.

I'm naming a lot of choices that could have gone differently, but which are only visible in retrospect. Hikawa escaping was, in the end, the most likely outcome; you shouldn't feel bad that you let him go. Instead, be happy that JPs has more manpower - more unhurt manpower - than they would normally start Sunday with.

That won't matter at all if the Conception goes off exactly as planned; Integrity-Protecting Prana will keep you safe, but no-one else. Still, hey - Hikawa's plans can go wrong, too. There are a lot of people and powers working against him. For instance, you can probably imagine Igor's reaction.

Speaking of which if it was start of that massacre then there should be intact strike forces of Gaians and Messians in vicinity of the park that were after his head...

The plan voting on going home confuses me a bit, it seems to be a fundamentally dangerous plan

To explain why lets go down what seems a highly likely tree then:
- Go Home
- Wake up after the world ends and everyone she knows is dead including her parents and friends. (As conception almost certainly will occur, and probably quite soon, author also notes such)

After that it's a bit harder to say, but Amu is a high compassion character and is still very young, so most likely

- Goes in to shock and has a high chance to die due to not resisting or fighting off an enemy. (The author is doing hard mode, as can be seen in how Amu went knock out here, no reason to assume he'll be particularly merciful later)

-- Thus the plan of going home quite possibly equates to potential suicide.

---------------

It should be noted two of her Chara are still awake, and it's probably possible to wake her up early if some way to use Amu's powers come up. It's highly non-ideal and quite possibly will also cause some problems, but on the other hand, greatly increased chance of death is also a problem...

Thus I'd suggest an alternate plan to going home should be considered, even if conception can't be stopped, are there any other options still open to do something atleast?

At this point, there is a non-zero chance that every single supernatural group in Tokyo is trying to off him. He's just that special of a guy.

 Most of the votes right now are not 'Just go home' but 'Try to rest but generally rest with the JPs'. We'll right in the middle of it should shit start to hit the fan.
