[Exalted/SMT] Shard of a Broken Sun

[X] Exaltation time.
--[X] Augment the skills of the Host first and foremost. At this time, personal survivability should be kept in mind however--the most cost effective means to assure safety and security would be an investment into the Arts of Evasion, as she already has some expertise in that regard in her current state, it would require a trivial amount of initial resources to render her capable of executing the Seven Shadows Evasion. The ability to successfully evade attacks even when caught flat-footed that must be developed on the way to this should also provide her a cost effective defence, proof against most attacks. The Integrity-Protecting Prana is also easy to master, and rarely the wrong choice.

The next step is to Protect Others. Full recovery is not cost effective, but through the usage of the Chara "Su" and her inherent expertise at domestic tasks, manifesting the Contagion Curing Touch and the necessary medical knowledge to make use of it should be equally straightforward. Such will be enough to stabilize those who can be saved long enough for them to recieve proper medical attention.

With "Defence" and "Protection" secured with minimal cost, the remaining energy can be committed to other purposes. The two newly developed Charms should be provided, as the utility of the "Chara" are far too great to be denied, and the ability to provide direct advice to the Host cannot be underestimated either. It will enable us to effectively make use of the newly developed schemes, and increase the survivability and effectiveness of the Host.

With the basics covered. What remains is acquiring the ability to Attack. Amu's current abilities means that the Art of Thrown Weapons will be the easiest investment to make cost effective. A simple Excellency, the Joint-Wounding Technique, and the Returning Weapon Concentration should permit cost-effective offensive functionality, at least until further training can be mustered.

Oh, I forgot to mention.

Amu is currently boosted to Compassion 5. You may, at your option, choose to make that permanent; yes, that would allow you three virtue points. This is a one-time opportunity.

...and you really, really should give her build a bit more thought than just voting for one of the premade options.
I was waiting for better since dunno exalted.

mmmmm writinsss so yummy

Yeah, this one.

I'm finding the amount of thought people are putting into this scenario rather hilarious. Forget story comments, there are builds to be made!

Reminder that, in addition to the stunt, we have six bonus points to spend.

Seems good to me.

where can we spend them?

I know you said you didn't want Charm names included, but I mostly just provided them as goalposts.

Basically, the build grabs a lot of low hanging fruit in terms of Charms. Most of the abilities listed as examples are within the "Ability 3/4, Essence 2" range, which means that between the Chara bonus, we can pretty much get all the necessary abilities with a minimal investment.

It doesn't bring up Attributes in and of itself--the core of the build is to shore up Amu's foundations, and use the Chara when direct specialization is required.

What Bonus Points?

And I've been working on this build ever since Amu's character sheet was released. Why do you think I kept pushing for focusing on making the Chara interactions clean and smoothly integrated?

Abilities and attributes will be increased based on a mix of your suggestions and Amu's preferences. Again, do not provide point-by-point votes. However, you have 6 bonus points, which can be assigned to any combination of virtues, willpower, physical attributes, abilities or researched charms without that restriction. At this time at most 2 can be assigned to virtues.

Additionally, as a one-time option:
[ ] Let her compassion fall back to what it was.
[ ] Maximise it, now that you have a unique opportunity to do so.
This will not cost virtue points.

Ahhhhh

In that case, I would actually suggest spending them to get our "Researched Charms" up, and buff her Conviction and Temperance by 1 each.

If each Bonus Point also gives us "One Thing", then I would also recommend getting Dexterity and Intelligence up one point as well.

That's a valid use for exactly six points, yep.

Note that, with Inexperience-Denying Connection up, you should also consider what your advise to Amu should be, if any.

Awesome.

This also opens up 2 "Floating" Charm Points that we can focus on either mobility (Athletics and such), or Intellectual Stuff (Like getting Spirit Cutting Attack). Or alternately, passive defenses like Ox-Body Technique or Body-Mending Meditation.

But the core of my stunt is pretty straightforward. "Hit the low hanging fruit through making effective use of Chara Bonuses, which allows us to be effective at saving lives, defending ourselves, and fighting evil if need be"

Incidentally, what's the method to properly damage Demons that our Exaltation apparently cracked? IPP probably prevents them from just punching through us or otherwise inflicting Murder on us save through traditional violence, but it doesn't inherently seem to get around their "Fuck you mortal weapons" advantage.

Also, if we get Essence 3 from the Exaltation? Spirit Weapons is going to be Real useful.

Pretty much any essence-augmented attack can hurt demons. If you walk up to one and punch it, no, but a lot of supplemental charms can do it. Further research will provide better ways to do so.

Sorry, essence 2 only. I don't expect that to last, though.

Not that experienced in Exalted, but with suggested...

[x] Alectai

Though depending on how our advice to Amu would go... 2 points in WP could be more useful than Dex and Int... we really need as much WP as possible as Chara are WP-powered.

PS.
[x] Keep compassion 5

Okay. So we need an Essence Augmented attack. In light of that, Joint-Wounding Technique should work, right?

Hmm... It's not letting me add more to my previous proposal.

Problematic...
You can use them to make parts of your plan a Sure Thing. They might be disregarded otherwise, since the actual point spread is a combination of your stunt and Amu's preferences.

But... here's something I can vote on!

Amu already has heart-beams. Those are PROBABLY an essence attack. If they aren't effective against demons, we can probably research something to fix that.

A Presence Excellency and an investment in that would be useful too.

But... Yeah, it looks like Secret Organization ran into a demon-cult of some kind, and we wound up fucking up a sting operation?
