[Exalted, ?] Most High

But what does political control of the Realm give you, really, that you couldn't replicate with a few dozen Workings (and the requisite experience)?
...the Experience and general utility and power of those few dozen Workings used for something besides what political control of the Realm would give us? We're low on Solar XP man!

The resources for an unlimited number of Workings? Enough records to spam prophecies of everything? An army of Dragonblooded and the Sword of Creation? Unlimited artifacts for our circle?

The ability to openly be a solar without getting attacked. There's also how it means we'd be able to recruit other celestial a without having to hide it or fear the repercussions of openly showing the alliance.

If you revealed you were a Solar, that would just cause massive internal dissent and open rebellion.

Hence why we're working on things such as the heretical prophecy, Mela reincarnated vouching for us, and(if need be) carrying the really big stick called the Sword of Creation to prevent such things. Though ideally we don't reveal ourselves as solars until the heretical prophecy has fully set in.

Another benefit it keeps the realm and all of its shit out of the hands of hell since they have both the Scarlet Empress AND Anys Syn on their side now.

Aka Ms. "I Willingly married the Ebon Dragon" and Ms "ODYISSIAL NEEDS TO DIE NO MATTER THE COST."

This is a good chance to nip that problem in the bud right the fuck now.

Never mind how having the realm fully at our fingertips will allow us to do more to help out Creation.

Does it? Or does it give them a single hated target to organize a rebellion against? A rebellion which is actually a trojan horse for the Infernals to take control?

Assuming we can effectively control the Realm and don't have to spend most of our time keeping it vaguely coherent.

If that happened, it would be better than having everyone against us when Anys helps her Redness come back and retake everything.

Actually if we are planning to subvert the Realm, we should probably talk to our Infernal allies to see if we can get their help on this. One is a Solaroid assassin and the other is either almost or is a Solar Circle Sorceress now.

If we are using our prophecies to counteract the effects of draining the Pole of Air, would that mean we wouldn't be using prophecies to bolster the Heresy?

I have a question.

If I recall correctly, in Exalted everything has a god governing an object from the least gods of the grains of rice to the Sun, so does that mean that Ambition has its own god?

...Mela 2.0 or Elsa 2.0, decisions decisions.

If we get Mela 2.0, does this mean that Resolute Flame will probably try to become Hesiesh 2.0?

That would be Heresy for him if he trully believed in the Immaculate philosophy, and to do that he would need a Solar Cirlce Sorcerer whic he does not have, and the willingness to go South to drain the Pole of Fire.

I suppose that's one way to counter the elemental imbalance. Of course to fully rectify the imbalance, we'd need to turn Saery into Daana'd, Hero into Pasiap, and someone into Sextes Jylis.

I'm sure that depleting all the elemental polls would have no negative effects on the integrity of Creation. None whatsoever.

Well, we could just leave the Pole of Water alone. Waterworld!

Edit:
Derp. Somehow confused which elements Daana'd and Sextes Jylis had.

Assuming it's still operational! Though I'm not sure you guys are planning on doing anything with the Sword at this juncture.

The thing about Sublime Grace of Mela is that it doesn't provide much of an immediate benefit. Moon can learn Solar-level Air Aspect charms, but she won't start with any and will need months to learn a significant number. It's more suited to spending a couple of months in the Sundial Throne than fighting a war and attempting to manage an Empire. Both tasks at which she will be substantially better at soon.

The same reasons that a civil war would have prevented Anys Syn from using her Hessiah persona will apply to Moon and Mela. Her guise may be more compelling, but that doesn't really matter when the other side simply ignores her or tries to kill her. In peace, however, she could achieve a considerable following through her grace, power, wisdom, and potent training effects.

Beyond all that, Mela provides an excellent excuse for skipping out on the invitation.

in addition to the advantages already listed we could get empress/princess Moon who is incredibly awkward in her finery and blushing at Nilul's attempts to get her to indulge herself and be a "bad girl" and totally NOT tempted by Nilul's suggestion of installing Uly in a new position that comes with a "unique" uniform with VERY short shorts :p
