[Exalted, ?] Most High

Yep that's about what I expected.

Ladies and Gentlemen I present to you the Full Odyissial experience in all it's terrible glory.

That last part where he said that eliminating the girls was inadvisable at this juncture because they were still useful to us for now.

The fact he even contemplated killing Moon and Nilul or implied he might do it later if they aren't deemed useful in the future.

ALLLLLLLLLL OF MY NOPES!!!!

Come now, he doesn't kill people for no reason! They'd have to really get in his way or something first.

It's kinda depressing how many people look at the most mechanically-efficient, robotic-esque attitude in a role-playing game and want to play that way, but to each their own. Personally though? Not interested.

While I sympathize with extremism the specific avenues that Odysseus walked disgusted me, they seem limited in vision, the product of a being that compensates for creativity with sheer power and skill.

I was smiling... right up until the end.
Thought that would happen to you. I almost felt that simple question cut me in the heart. I have to applaud for the quality of writing here, its emotional impact and the sadistic choice at the end. Rihaku, I can say that this is one of your best pieces of writing till now that I've read.
Forget Moon, it's Uncle I'm interested in seeing react to us painting his roads red.
Forget them all, I want to know how Zao reacts to our little episode, especially if Anys decides to approach him immediately afterwards.

[X] Resist the Clarity

People were constantly screaming and pointing out how "Oh no! We'll threaten our allies or ruin everything here if we don't Limit Break now!"

Well, we've seen what the Limit Break is, and it is Horrifying. Worse, it seeks to impose itself permanently on us, by offering us enormous power to submit to it. This is the true and most terrible curse of Odyssial come to roost, something far greater in it's scope and far more personally aimed then the flailing of the Dead Titans, and all the more sinister for it.

Fuck, That, Shit.

We will do Better then Odyssial. We will save the world Without casting away our heart.

@Priest

We need your power now! Only the Priest Engine can generate the strength needed to shuck this curse!

Robotic!?

The Lord Strategos has a mind powerful enough to feel the suffering of the Eleven MILLION people that have died since he Exalted, and which he has already failed to save.

No more.

No longer.

Not for one instant longer, will he tolerate this despairing mire of a "world."

Odyssial was a tribal hunter, thrust into a titanic war. He had to learn all of his powers from first principles.

Ulyssian? Odyssial already did his work for him, all he has to do is figure out how to remember.

Ulyssian has no excuse.

...At least, that's what Odyssial would say.

So, just to clarify, What Exactly do we need to do to get the damn Resist the Clarity thing to function properly? How much discussion? How many fanworks? What is needed here?!

Eh, so the full odyssial experience is just him going Judge Dredd on everyone's asses? can't say I'm all that impressed

The choice is between turning full dildo, burning exp (man, the sweet tears of sorcery camp is fucking delicious) or throwing away the one thing making us relevant on any level of combat...

Nilul? Forget Nilul, it's Moon that I'm worried about.
Moon just watched Uly behead dozens of begging "innocents" after being away from him for months, it's pretty clear she's an 11 on the freak out scale.

How could you say that we are casting our heart away? We are investing it into creating something terrible and wonderful to save countless millions out of pure sympathy for their plight. Truly through embracing the Clarity we become the most compassionate soul in Creation, willing to sacrifice everything for the sake of those we will never meet.
Well, yeah, but... Odyssial broke the Godspear, right? Presumably saw Sol Invictus as an enemy of some sort.

Dude's fucked up.
Look if someone is trying to smite you with their infinite damage spear I think it's pretty reasonable to think them an enemy.

This is, like, everything I wanted to avoid, when I advocating breaking against the Lily.

It's also giving us a chance to shackle Odyssial's Curse and bend it to our interests, rather than the interests of a man long dead?

One of the arguments, I note, of LBing against the Lily would have been because it would identify the presence of the Great Curse in us o we could work against it. Well, right here, the presence of Moon to snap us out of it here actually will let us identify it and bend it to our interests, rather than the interests of Odyssial-that-Was.

[X] Snap Out of It [Throw Ambition Away]

"You will no longer be able to interchangeably use Odyssial and Ulyssian." - For me this is a very good thing given the depth's Odyssial fell and it is good to keep perspective. While our decrease in power is unfortunate, our will to succeed will suffice in even a reduced state. This will sever our obsession with Limit Breaking and acknowledge that the expedient path is perhaps not always the best one.

For those embracing the Clarity, remember Rihaku's example of Anys Syn going to Zao with her offer. If he hears about this and the fact we wish to go along with it, along the Syn's delivery of how far Odyssial went in that state we are going to lose him.
