[Exalted, ?] Most High

I most want to sneak around and steal stuff, maybe with a little assassination and a lot of espionage. But kung-fu is good, too.

Looks like the playback's disabled on that video.

Hm, if we can come to a consensus of some sort within ~45 minutes, I can probably post the next update today. It's likely going to be short-ish.

The most important thing to agree on is actually not your Caste, but the action - whether you're planning on heading back to camp, or instead going to continue studying the sunset.

Also, there's the issue with Twilight focusing more on crafting and ingenuity. For some, that's a definite perk, and I can see the appeal... but there's a very real difference between personal power and power invested in artifacts and infrastructure. The former is with you always, an ever-present aegis to ward away harm and be wield to slay your enemies, and the latter can be denied to you by clever foes. Artifacts can be stolen, sentient creations can be subverted, manses can be destroyed.

Sorcery's great, though! Without Sorcery, you would never have met Alveua in the last quest.

Actually, among the abilities Odyssial will potentially pass on is the ability to store his personal blade within his anima itself, taking the place of a Glorious Solar Saber. Of course, to pass on such an ability, one must first acquire it!

[X] Dawn

Well, I've made the trek to SV, so now it's time to savor the rewards. I'm honestly voting out of nostalgia here, a desire to honor the legacy of quests past. There's a symmetry to it, having one Dawn type of each Solaroid. Plus, I think being a determinator is just the bee's knees.

[X] Dawn

I am very happy to see this here, considering that this is not only an Exalted quest, but a Rihaku quest as well, and on top of that is the precursor to the first quest I ever read through. I will watch this thread with bated breath.

Orm came to me with great news, that the Odyssey was reborn! And not only that, but that we could create the legend of Odyssial ourselves.

This is a good day.

[X] Dawn - Turn back East, and return to the camp. That darkness will fall, seems inevitable. Whatever abyss may come, you will confront it head-on, stare into its depths unblinking. The world may be changing, but the paths to victory remain the same. Ruthlessness. Strategy. And above all else, the unrelenting will to prevail. It is not by choice that you live by the sword, but if not for the sword, you would not be alive.

Is there any question? To surpass all others, to dedicate onself to an endless drive for perfection and might; whether Ulyssian or Odyssial, it was this will that defined their character and actions. To not pick the incarnation focused around this is something I cannot do.

Regarding the combat focus, this is only a plus for me, honestly. To wield unparalleled might not through dint of your creation, but through crushing all in your path in a relentless climb to the top, until you wage war against the Primordial forces of creation itself? Magnificent! This is the primordial war, after all. A blood soaked prelude focused around the dance of death and glory is only fitting.

Yay rihaku quest and exalted quest.

So one question where do the previous iterations of Odyssial stand in Heartlessness? I imagine the Usurpation version sets the bar at 10 for all the rest. Abyssal odyssial is probably more heartless than infernal in my binging of the archives.

And a guess in how the superlative will help tie in to the supernal ability of 3rd ed is Will is Integrity, Cunning is either Craft or Lore, and Perceptiveness is Awareness or Investigation. That ability will be the one in which we ascend to the heights of power the quickest.

And the first setting of the Unconquered Sun is quite evocative in its imagery, I wonder if Odyssial continues to look at it he will see lights leaving it. As the sun dims itself to give many sparks to the world.

And one note on sorcery, we should be predating its arrival in human hands since Brigid the Solar was the first to wrest it from Mara. Thaumaturgy should be widely practiced at this time though with at least one shaman in every tribe. Of course if the Salinan working went back in time or passed to AU creations like ours all bets on sorcery are off.

Martial the will to survive and power Odyssial.

[X] Dawn

Fuck yes! Rihaku Quest! A continuation of The Odyssey, a story of Odyssial and exploring the Age of Glory and Primordial War?

We're not on 2E canon anymore, so we can play fast and loose with history. Odyssial's going to change stuff just by existing, likely.

Fuck, I just noticed something. The question-mark. That bloody question-mark... why is it still there? What does it mean?
