Yup, pretty much. You can, 100%, without lying, say that you didn't intend to kill him. However, with Nilul's help you could probably convince the arena that you meant it, too, just by being Ulyssian's stoic standard self.

Haven't there only been two fights? Ulyssian is designed to excel in whiteroom combat situations. This fight, Polemgaos had way higher soak, health, defenses, and damage potential, but never got to use his damage because you Clashed his first attack and killed him before he could launch his second, and his defenses only kept him alive till then. If you secure an early advantage with a massive withering damage build like Ulyssian's, you can make anyone look like a chump because you suddenly gank them to death.

We've already accomplished virtually everything worthwhile at the Tournament.
We've gotten Essence 4 from defeating Polemgaos, we've gotten all the rep possible from all but trivializing him (Two exchanges, that was all it took, we schooled him as decisively as we did that entire Immaculate Brotherhood. More importantly, he probably wasn't the only one who made the connection (Oh shit, Sesus Ulyssian is Zao's illegitimate son, OH SHIT, BLOOD OF THE SHOGUN. Arguably Helped by House Sesus' reluctance to release our geneology earlier), which basically takes an insane amount of heat off of Moon, and our reputation is pretty much at this point the top fucking dog currently active, save for Zao himself. The Sidereals probably know more, but at this point, they're probably losing their fucking shit and trying to reassess their intelligence because it's either "Secret son of the Last Shogun or the Most Powerful Solar of All Time ahhhhhhhhhhhh".
We... We don't really have much more to gain at this point by continuing on, and much more to risk with the presence of Infernals.

I have to say I'm in favor of doing something to mitigate Heartlessness 10, and yeah, we just managed everything we were planning on from this tournament.
We might be able to double down and speed things up, but we'd be building on quicksand. Let's back off and consolidate.

I assume you have a plan? Since just because we are badass and people are super terrified of us now does not meant that we can take the Realm in less than a Year.
I mean, you have to consider Ayns's deciding to go all out arming up our opposition, the Lunars taking the chance to gank the Realm, whatever the fuck the Infernals are planning, the Deathlords striking now and lastly/most importantly, us Not having a Secure Power Base, resources and army to back us back.
The Admiralty has been weakened since the Empress's disappearance and they will be taking the brunt of any external Assaults made on the Realm, which limits how much we can use them. House Sesus does not like us right now and while they probably will back us at first due to them knowing when to seize a chance, we can't actually trust them that well and they probably will back-stab once given the chance.
Oh plus, as Ulyssian and Polemagos just demonstrated, being seen as an utterly terrifying legendary killing Machine is also an extreme disadvantage. Because when you scare the shit out of your opposition it makes them more likely to commit a shitton more resources, than it is probably necessary, in order to fucking kill you. And this case this probably manifest in all the other factions teaming up, helped by Sids manipulating things, to curbstomp us into the ground first and then going back to beating each other up. And we aint badass enough to survive that, not yet.
