We need XP. But alienating the Sesus carries a lot of long-term disadvantages in regards to the Dynastic political situation. Ulyssian should be able to drag his own House into whatever coalition he and Zao care to build. If he can't do that, juggling the alignments of the Houses becomes a lot more difficult. But we really also need XP to recoup what we've spent. It's not an easy call by any means.

It probably isn't, but goddamn do I want one, of only because I find the ideas of A) Zao getting first crack at telling Moon what's up with us and B) losing out on all of our shiny new Dynastic connections to be equally unacceptable.

By Jove, I've got it! Use the Calibration feast to train! Clearly a solar who favors Integrity shouldn't lose several hours of his memory. Except that probably won't work. Hellfire and Damnation!

EDIT: Can we get Ivory to make sure Zao doesn't horrifically mess this up for us?

Depends on whether you train Evocations or Charms. Evocations take longer to train, so it'd be a good opportunity.
 
A hard call, yes, but the fact that one option is far, far more in character for Ulyssian than the other leads meet to opt in favor of training. House Sesus has spurned him all his life. If they cannot even wait mere days for his attention, then what's the point? Vistas of power beyond imagination, beyond limitation, await him. Moon will wake soon, and he would want to be there for her.

Well, Power & Security did win, so you hardly need more training time. The burst training is very nice, and you do need XP, but this would be a crucial opportunity to mend fences before your family leaves, and things get a lot harder.

Merits, Artifacts, and deepen our relationship with our other friends. How can we say no? We've already stood up to Zao for moon, can we not at least make a little bit of time for our friends. They've been loyal and kind despite Uly being a spoilsport.
 
Pwer and Security already won, we're going to get a lot of training in. Lets at least take advantage of this feast to spend the minimal amount of time to mend fences with our family and sow the seeds to future alliances and coalitions.

It's more a matter of "hey, we're your family, you've been lying to use all your life, care to explain yourself?"

Zao's not going to horrifically mess it up for you. Probably. I mean, he agreed to tell the truth, so even if he puts you in the worst possible light... eh, Moon would still forgive you.

Calibration is five days, right? I don't suppose we can train the first three (also guarentees Moon wakes up and we get to her before Zao), then head to the feast on the fourth day?

Surely Nilul could understand us being fashionably late.

No, then lots of people will vote for it even though it's not what they really want, because they'll think it will win. Also, most of the benefit of the training trance requires several hours of uninterrupted meditation. You have to go deep to dislodge and alter your fundamental Essence flows before they fully settle!

I might change my mind later, and I am very interested in those Odyssial memories, but allowing our family to leave without even a word of explanation after this revelation would be incredibly damaging to our already strained relationship. They are highly unlikely to disown Ulyssian due to his status as Zao's successor, but it will make any attempts to network within Sesus and eventually become its head much, much harder. Extra memories is a high price to pay, but I think its necessary in the current situation.
