[Exalted, ?] Most High

Prove it allows us to once again spit in the Siderael's faces.

It let's Ivory know her past self wasn't
a monster. Do you think Ulyssian who is Odyissial would be okay with his friend's incarnation thinking she was a terrible monster? Thanks to brainwashing by the traitors?

FUCK NO.

Also don't Rihaku said her mental health will likely be challenged if she has to keep facing reminders that she is actually Pearl. Ulyssian keeps calling her Pearl right now thanks to the fact the memories haven't fully integrated yet.

How do you think she'll react when we meet up with Lea or Fairest as they
go "Pearl? Long time no see. You got
Taller!" ( because they look exactly alike except for height) or anybody who remembers Pearl and Odyissial or if we encounter other reincarnations who recognize her.

Also this means the Sideraels could at anytime incapacitate her by continually shoving the fact she is pearl in her face until she breaks down. You think the Bronze Faction won't do this? When Ivory her self said she's a traitor of the highest order and she's helping a solar whose the reincarnation of Odyissial. Need I remind you guys that Anys will be gunning for us?

We deal with this shit now so it doesn't become a potential problem later.

The Sword would do wonders for us combatwise and people already suggested that we say Zao gave it to. Is. No need to spend another action on it which gives us more choices in the future and we could use that training time we would've spent on it for something else that could be important.

[X] Prove It. Release Ambition from your anima. As her own memories will undoubtedly tell her, only four Exalts in all Creation can wield it without your express permission, and it cannot be fooled. If she is not Sepulchral Pearl - Exaltation and soul - she will not be able to use it. This is a critical moment, you cannot afford delay, not if Pearl is to recover herself. She died because she was close to you. You will not allow her to suffer any more at the hands of Chejob's lackeys.

When Rihaku said that the route that was most effective for us wouldn't make pearl happy I believe he was referring to keeping our sword in pearls anima. Since the sword forces the bearer to work in our interest and at the time she was still brainwashed it would have made her unhappy to work toward our goals. I don't think that comment has anything to do with this choice.

Spending the XP now isn't the most XP efficient option, but it does get us our sword and so extra combat power right now as well as solving Pearl's split personality issues which seem pretty clearly unpleasant for her. We'd have to be a pretty big asshole to just leave one of our friends brainwashed because it cost extra XP.

I wonder how the dynamics of the academy changes now that ulyssian the mortal, the outcast is now exalted.

oh wait. no more academy. shit.

[X] Prove it.

Simply put, we get to set Pearl on the road to accept her past life and get a hilariously powerful killstick.

As for Ambitions subtlity? We don't need to show it. Or can try to figure out a way to make it look like a lesser weapon. We don't need to unleash our weapons full potential on every random hobo when our 'normal' prowess suffices to wreck their shit.

Being able to banish it Elsewhere is just one more advantage in that.

Besides, Zao or Pearl can get us a Jade weapon we can carry around to show what a nice little Terrestrial we are.

As for House Sesus, I think they will hold off on new marriage contracts for the time being. They will first want to see if they can extract even more value from Ulyssian. And if they get hints that he is dating Zaos daughter, they'd be all over that. Having a claim on the Shogunates bloodline would be a Big Deal.

The question is how we would gain control of Sesus. They are incredibly martial, so we may be able to amaze them by taking a Legion for a road trip and wrecking shit like only Odyssial can. The downside is that we'd be visible, while the upside is that we can go looking for our First Age stashes of Dragonbloods and war gear. Our Tomb ought to be amazing as well, considering how much they would want to ensure Odyssial passes on to Lethe (speaking of which, was that a typo or on Purpose that the name of the Primordial Lethos was used?).

Theres also the chance of meeting Lea.

The other avenue would be social maneuvering, but that doesn't seem like something Uly would excel at.

Plan C would be to stroll into the Imperial Manse and see if Odyssial had some backdoors to get control of it all. As Lord Strategos, he probably had a hand in designing the defences of the Manse.

Nah, probably we are going to go back to the Imperial City for a bit, politicking around, then going back to the Academy and secure an early-graduation by the power of Uly's workaholicness.
I mean, it'd be a shame to lose the Academy this soon, eh?
Beside, for every reboot, the more time Uly spent in Seaworth lol

Yea, the Lord Strategos has "emergency" access to the Sword of Creation.
Having the Creation reduced to a further fifth IS "emergency", right?

Hmm. Maybe combine Attempt to Persuade Her with Prove it? Writing a stunt should be easier, as we wouldn't need to convince her that Pearl wasn't a monster and that she is Pearl, but just that she wasn't a monster.

Attempt to Persuade is basically Prove It without Proving it. That is, Ulyssian's still gonna say stuff when he Proves it, because why not? So any stunts for Attempt to Persuade will also potentially aid in Proving it.

Brawl
Presence
Investigation

Titles
Who Was Odyssial
(Special) - A measure of remembered power, granted at the moment of Exaltation, gives Ulyssian a suite of abilities far surpassing a newly-Exalted Dawn.

*His individual combat prowess is somewhere between a Second Circle and Third Circle Daeva. He may strike with unerring accuracy, punch through the thickest armor, cut down a thousand men like a killing wind, and deflect a comet falling. Even groups of the Exalted, he can often dispatch with alacrity. His blade is as a shining maelstorm; though a hundred foes may strike at him in a single moment, his defense will not flag until he himself keels over from exhaustion.
*Given a few minutes of time to prepare, he may perfectly disguise himself as any humanoid being, replicating even supernatural displays such as the anima banner, within reason. This disguise is virtually impenetrable to all but the very greatest magics of perception, but it cannot exert physical effects; his anima will not damage others like a Dragon-Blood's, though they may feel its fire.
*His senses are precisely attuned, active even when unconscious or sleeping. When he focuses, they are much sharper than an ordinary man's, heightening his readiness for battle to a supernatural degree.
*He has perfect balance and lightfooted skill, to the degree where he can execute a full running battle across a clothesline, or fend off eightfold attackers while standing on a willow tree in strong winds. He can achieve short bursts of preternatural speed.
*In battle, he may occasionally strike with such alarming swiftness that no merely physical force can attack before him.
*No curse or transformation, no matter how potent, may strip from him his flawless skill with a blade, or the ability to properly wield it.
*His body exudes an impression of dangerous poise and controlled violence, like that of a stalking tiger. This does not implicitly threaten any onlooker; they simply understand that this is a being whose capacity for destruction is natural and effortless, and though it is not currently directed at them, neither is it to be trifled with.
*So attuned is he to the subtle movements of the world, that he instinctively knows when to investigate a scene, or when a person is not who they appear to be. He may fail to find or prove anything, but he will still know to be wary, for his instincts are never wrong.
*All these particular abilities, refinements of skill into the level of the nearly impossible, are in addition to the natural overwhelming excellence of the Solar Exalted.

Immortal Bladesmaster (Martial) - An affinity with his blades that transcends space and age.

*Ulyssian may summon forth the Blade of Odyssial, Most High of Swords, Ambition (Artifact N/A).
*He may call his blade to hand at the speed of thought, traversing the intervening distance even if knocked away or disarmed.
*He may banish a weapon to Elsewhere for a modest expenditure of effort, and release that banishment to summon his weapon to hand.
*Assuming a martial stance, he may focus his anima into his blade itself, making it impossible to destroy or disarm, and magnifying its damage.

War-Saint's Ferocious Vigor (Martial) - Power unyielding and unbound, striking down all in its path. Efficiency, rejuvenation, and sheer might: all are the domain of the War-Saint.

*The Solar may perform a devastating physical strike, crossing significant distances in an instant to utterly seize control of an engagement
*When struck by glancing blows, his power is only renewed, greatly extending his stamina in combat
*When fully committing to a strike, likewise his power is renewed, commensurate to the upwelling excellence of the strike itself
*His precise, yet energetic power allows him to deflect, repel, and overcome even the most skilled of attacks, frequently turning sure hits into narrow misses with very modest effort.
*This Title multiplicatively expands the Solar's overall combat strength.

Fortune-Stealing Palms (Utility) - The ultimate thief learns to acquire not merely material possessions, but the flow of the world itself! Somehow, he always finds a way. Useful inside the casino, and out!

*Ulyssian can manifest supernatural excellence without effort, several times per day, in the field of surreptitious activities. This is extremely useful when one is attempting to avoid flaring anima.
*Ulyssian improves his powers of perception, allowing him to cold-heartedly evaluate his enemies. He can learn whether they believe their chances to be good, great, or poor. Works for games of chance as well as strategy.
*Ulyssian can cheat effortlessly at cards or dice, so swift are his hands. Put it all on red, and make sure it spins to red! Only the very most powerful of supernatural detection can catch him, the first few times in a scene he does this. Also allows him to slip poison into any food or beverage undetected.
*Ulyssian's plans are so comprehensive and cunning that it appears he steals fate itself. Once per day, he may dramatically improve his odds at any one action, as he finds a way. This may be re-purchased at Essence 4 to grant truly ludicrous competence, once per day.

Artifacts
Ambition, white orichalcum longsword
The Storm Armor of Shogun Feng, blue jade, black jade, and soulsteel heavy armor.

Evocations known:
Killing Perfection Technique
Flash of Steel
Flawless Mirror Shield
Saber Mirror Shield

Attribute Costs and Training Times
*Attributes cost (Current Rating x 20000) XP to raise.
*They take several months of casual training, or weeks of focused training, to improve. Casual training can be fit in during the spare moments of running a kingdom or adventuring.
*If Ulyssian has access to a mentor and a full range of appropriate resources, and does nothing other than train the Attribute, he may improve it in days.

Ability Costs
*Abilities cost (Current Rating x 10000) XP to raise.
*They take several weeks of casual training, or days of focused training, to improve.

Wow, Uly's really (relatively) sucky with social stuff.

It's not his area of strength, but to say he sucks would give the entirely wrong impression, even with the qualifier of "relatively." He has a Presence Excellency, so he can expend effort to become more charismatic than Martin Luther King in short bursts. It is not his area of strength, but he already has more 5s than even an experienced Exalt would be expected to have. Each 5 represents peak human prowess, a level of skill that a talented person could work their entire life towards and never match.

/... Yeah, should've went meet with daddy and mummy with Captain Planet. Oh well.
Still, we confirmed Ivory's loyalty and (presumably?) fetch our Sword, so it's a success!
Let's talk plans with Zao, our erstwhile master.

On the good side, everyone will assume we're being berated for hours, or days? At least until we came out to the open again. Let's think on what Zao would have us to do in broad's stroke.

Zao Objectives:
1. Personal Power!
2. Be Head of House Sesus.
(optional?): Betrothed to another Dynast House, preferably one that would be loyal to our aims, not Sesus'.

Ody Objectives:
1. Personal Power!
2. Find his assets from his first life
3. ???

Outstanding issues:
1. Anys PLAN regarding Flame and Moon, is probably still occuring, from what we've seen implied.
2. Ivory vis-a-vis the rest of the Sidereals.
3. Family issues?
----3.5 Betrothal to Nellys?
4. Friends issues, Immaculate issues, Academy issues?

Mortal, Exalts, jeez/

How does raising attributes/skills over 5 work in 3ed and this game? Need some level of essences like 2ed or did they do it differently?

There has been some fanwork since the last XP update, so you guys probably have more XP than indicated, though not hugely more.

Prove it allows us to once again spit in the Siderael's faces.

FUCK NO.

Well, consider the costs here. Even in-character, Ulyssian knows this will be extremely difficult to pull off (the XP cost), whereas accepting it with equanimity would free up mental resources to be deployed elsewhere (the XP bonus). Ivory will be a loyal ally anyway, and he needs to think about how to spend his finite time and effort helping Zao save Creation.

Also don't Rihaku said her mental health will likely be challenged if she has to keep facing reminders that she is actually Pearl. Ulyssian keeps calling her Pearl right now thanks to the fact the memories haven't fully integrated yet.

But don't you want to see it?

Hey, does anyone know a martial art or sorcery or something that can let us approximate the Anima of Fire-Aspects?
That's our issue regarding long-duration infiltration of Dragonblooded life.
Except if we can bullshit to have a non-burning Fire Anima due to reasons, I guess.

Second Edition has it that Consuming Might of the Fire Dragon gives you the Fire Dragon Anima if you don't already have it, and buffs it severely if you do.

Or something along those lines, Third Edition isn't clear yet.

How fast can we get it?
The training charm that Zao did with the Malfean!Uly isn't applicable here, we need him.
Can we spoof some "punishment" from Zao that would last weeks while he train us in the style?

hmm
CONSUMING MIGHT OF THE FIRE DRAGON
Cost: 6m, 1wp; Mins: Martial Arts 5, Essence 4; Type: Simple Keywords: Emotion, Leader, Obvious Duration: One scene Prerequisite Charms: Essence-Igniting Nerve Strike, Smoldering Wound Attack

Uly already have MA 5, doesn't he?
That Essence prereq....
