Yellow and Red
[X] You get dragged into a room by a blonde with surprisingly strong grip followed in by Mini-Winter.
Despite how comical it feels to be manhandled by someone whose head reaches your chest and a petite girl half your size, you decide to go with them into an empty classroom, the lessons having been done for the day. So you sit on the steps, chewing half a cereal bar whilst the two girls attempt to look intimidating.
"Talk" says the taller one, who you identify from the student roster as Yang.
"Yeah talk" says Winter's younger sister.
Ignoring the sudden flashbacks of glyph based flight, you calmly answer them, taking care not to spit out precious crumbs of food.
"Look,Win….eiiss? I'm not sure what's going on here, so if you could be a tiny bit more specific, then maybe I could help you and then proceed to get on with a very tasty snack."
"Win-eiss?" the pale young girl slowly enunciates a look of confusion on her face as she squints at you. Huh, odd scarring, you would have thought a young heiress taking enough damage to get through her aura would be newsworthy.
"Yes?" you answer as calmly as you can, quickly scoffing down the other half of the granola bar whilst you have the chance. Maybe you could grapple her while she's confused and swing her as a club at the other one. In the confusion, you can make your escape, especially considering Ironwood frowns upon civilian casualties, even if they are asking for it.
"Well, that's one way to break the….Weiss." says Yang. As you've previously stated, they were asking for it.
Seeing that her pun remains unappreciated, she becomes more serious. "What the hell is going on with Blake?" she questions you.
You consider following your first instinct, deny everything.
"I have no idea what you are on about"
You'd consider the fact she isn't intimidated by your size impressive if it weren't so foolish as her red eyes look deeply into yours. Internally you sigh, you'd think Faunus outside the White Fang would give you less hassle but you are curious about what she's been doing even if you consider this a internal matter for her team to deal with. Besides, Winter wouldn't let it go if she heard you refused to help her sister.
"If she didn't tell you, maybe she doesn't want you to know. I hardly doubt she's the only one with secrets attending this school and besides don't you think she'd tell you if was important?"
"She's not the talking type"
"I think we should know the facts here" Weiss butts into the conversation, arms crossed "after all, who knows what she could have done. She may have hurt people or even blown up buildings".
Before you can respond with that it was only a small explosion, Yang retorts "Forget it, all we want to do is find her".
"Look, I know someone who can help, if I tell you where she is, will you stop bothering me?"
"Try your friend and then we'll see…"
The white noise crackles in the background as your scroll finally reaches your "contact" through several meters of armour plating and several miles of range.
"Oh hey Argie, is it alright if I call you that? I mean I've heard people calling each other nicknames on the base and well, you don't have one yet despite us being together for years. Well not, together-together, but you know, together. I mean if you don't like that we don't have to call you that. Oh, I know, you can call me Pen. No wait, that's a piece of stationary. That would be silly….or would it? No wait, yes it would. Give me a moment, the technician just fainted. Hello? Are you alright?"
As her voice trails off, you are sure you can hear Yang mouthing "Argie" at her teammate. Goddam it Penny.
You somehow manage to get her attention long enough to explain what you needed from her and managed to extract a promise not you leave any traces of herself within the system. All the while trying to make it sounds like she's a skilled hacker rather than a complex artificial intelligence with a thought process which rivals your own. The Scroll chimes with the arrival of their locations. The fountain and the infirmary….you have got to be kidding me. When you get your hands on that cat-girl, you are going to have a serious conversation on the meaning of starting anew.
You feel the blonde pat you firmly on the back as they exit the room.
"I have a feeling she does that a lot. I don't know what went on between you two and honestly I don't care. You're helping us find her, Argie."
You sigh and turn back to your scroll, trying to figure out just what the hell's going on.
Weiss sticks her head back in for a moment to curtsy before leaving again.
"A pleasure doing business with you".
You'll never understand people.
[X] You're minding your own business and a small red hooded girl collapses in front of you. Again.
It's odd watching over the unconscious body of a girl who has at least a decade over you. Somehow through sheer fluke of biology she seems the younger of the two of you. It's probably the innocence in her expression. That isn't the face of someone who's killed before. Another being that is, Grimm being soulless monsters hardly count. This is the second time she's gone and done this. No games, no teammates interfering. You are going to get answers one way or another.
Slowly her expression moves as she wakes up. Her eyes tiredly open a crack, her eyes scanning the room before meeting your own. She squeaks out an apology and makes for the door, moving almost faster than you can see, pulling at the handle. It's locked, come on now, you aren't an idiot. Your expression says as much.
"I'd like an answer now."
"Well you know, I was curious."
"Curious?"
"Is that sword handmade, I can see the frame for moving parts and a gun barrel but I can't make out the calibre."
"Standard issue, easier to resupply and share ammo amongst the team. It's also a halberd. Also I really don't think you attempted to read my mind over something as petty as finding out what bullets I shoot."
"Oh, Standard issue is cool, though I prefer making my own. Adds that personal touch Crescent Rose needs. Only the best after all" she nervous chuckles as you leave your seat.
"I'd really like an answer now" you say, towering over her. Why are people so small? It's not like you eat any more than them…if no-one stops you.
"Oh right, well, oh look at the time Yang will be getting worried, must be off, nice talking to you."
You step to the side, blocking her path to the window.
"You are free to leave. After all I can't keep you prisoner. That's illegal."
You unlock the door and open it for her.
"However I do believe I'll be having a talk with your headmaster. I'm sure he'll like to know about the fainting spells one of his student's seems to be suffering from."
"No, wait. I'll tell you."
Taking a deep breath, she begins her "explanation".
"Well, I want to be a huntress and help people and was thinking that I have another part to my semblance, but it was driving me crazy you know, but Ozpin, that's the Headmaster by the way, you probably know that, of course you know that, well he told me it was a special power that I need to learn to control and can help everyone, so I should come to his school to learn how to, but he's not teaching me till I'm ready, but I'm ready now, but he still won't teach me, but then you came along and well you are really shiny, but not as shiny as you should be, how do you do that by the way, and so I tried to look harder about how you were doing that and well I got myself knocked out, stupid Ruby, you know?
Then I woke up and Yang was all like, Ruby what happened, and well of course I can't go saying "I was trying to look really hard at someone's soul and ran into a wall, so nobody knows but you but you know that as well. So then I thought if you can do that and if Ozpin won't teach me maybe you will, so then we can buddy up and fight bad guys and save people. Oooh like superheroes or something, you know like people with special powers, except maybe that can describe hunters as well, so maybe then as Hunter's but really special. You know?"
You are starting to wonder whether you may have accidently caused the poor girl brain damage. You hope not. If training with Grif has taught you anything it is that people can be so fragile.
"What I'm trying to ask is will you teach me?"
She then cheats by looking adorable. Eventually your willpower wavers and you mutter about thinking about it. Squealing with joy she hugs you before stepping back.
"Out of curiosity, do you hear the voices too?"
Wait…what?
Damn it she's ran off, leaving rose petals everywhere. That's going to be hell to clean up.
