I think Wiess may die a little inside when she finds out the closest thing the planet has to a perfect being shares traits with Ruby.
Lets see:
Silver eyes - Check
Super killy - Check, though Ruby needs work
Has a thing for weapons - Check

Die a lot

This means a lot coming from Ironwood. Argent is going to get a metric ton of praise for this since even through it's Dr. Polendina's project Argent is the one who gave it the go ahead and given his scientific abilities (Learning 33) almost certainly has his name on the design team. Plus it tells a better story, always important from a PR perspective which is doubly important since Grimm are attracted to negative emotions, for the Frontier Region Commander to not only be an amazing commander, turned a half ruined science outpost into the greatest territorial expansion since Mountain Glen, but also a stellar Specialist, winning the Vytal tournament was almost certainly the reason Argent was asked to avoid graduating, and a genius scientist, being responsible for creating the aircraft that would finally give mankind domination of the skies.

Basically Argent is the perfect posterboy for the Atlas military, and the Atlas government in general, and having the Hawk attached to his name only makes the effect more powerful. Which is excellent timing for Atlas since with Ironwood on the way out they can make Argent appear his clear successor. That will do wonders to keep public moral up.

That's appropriate for a Primarch.

I don't believe Argent has ever had a positive relationship with a Faunus. This is not a good sign for his eventual conquest of Remnant. Especially considering that Atlas, with it's heavy anti-Faunus bent, is Argent's home and main source of cultural influence.

That's Warhammer, baby.

To be fair, while Argent hasn't had a positive relationship with Faunus, he seems less like the derogatory or distrustful type, and more the type that dismisses that there's any meaningful difference between faunus and normal humans. For all that Warhammer abhors the mutant and all that jazz, faunus are positively tame compared to some of the abhumans the Imperium allows. He gave Adam tons of shit for betraying the White Fang's original purpose and setting back genuine equality for Faunus with his actions. He gave Blake a chance to save her team and get out of the White Fang, and while he was skeptical of her on team RWBY, that was because he thought he was seeing a terrorist operative right next to one of the people that group would like to kill most. For dealing with a known terrorist implanted next to a major target, he showed a massive amount of restraint. I honestly expect Argent's total disregard for Blake's nature to throw her off when they finally talk.

For the small, small chance that Blake approaches us...

The mystery box.

Might run into anyone, or get a chance to talk to Blake.

"Greetings, I'm Wiess Schnee. I assume from your bearing that you are also here for the tournament?" her eyes gazing at Justicar and your armoured body.

"Erm Wiess" the tallest member of the group says, having rounded the corner.

It's 'Weiss', not 'Wiess'. Also, you have a very frequent (and rather odd) error where you forget to put a period at the end of a spoken sentence, but I've only noticed this incorrect grammar in speech. I have no idea what's up with that, but it isn't just in this chapter.

Anyway, I guess Argent is about to get a student. Ruby really does need someone to teach her the basics, for mental defence if nothing else, and Argent is one of the few people, if not the only person, on Remnant that is both willing and able to so. An untrained Psyker is bad news, for themselves and everyone around them, even in a place that seems to have a fairly stable Warp.

Interested to see how the thing with Blake shakes out. Mind reading might potentially prove her claim of being reformed beyond any doubt, though it is kind of invasive. Short of that, her team and/or Ozpin could vouch for her.

Oddly enough, that's not an error. Apparently you're not supposed to end a spoken statement with a period when you're writing dialogue.

I was flabbergasted when I found this out.

Maybe Argent doesn't have any problems, but when E-Money shows up? Things gonna be getting grimdark up in here.

Damn mystery box stealing away our chance to finally spend time with our only male teammate.
Maybe, but we're on a pretty close time limit, and I'm rather hoping the mystery box has something RWBY related in it. We've gotten our first hint here- Ruby was capable of warp shenanigans! We ought to jump that train for all it's worth!

The vote has been tallied. But has it been called?

Also, I don't know if anyone else has connected these dots yet, but Ironwood in canon is explicitly part of Ozpin's big maiden-friendly conspiracy thing. I figure odds are good that he already knows the connection between silver eyes -> maidenhood. It sort of raises questions though, about whether there have been male 'maidens' before, but also about what his overall plan for us and our future as one of these four empowered figures looks like. I mean, he's basically our dad, right? I wonder what he thinks about us, and how much he's told his buddy Ozpin.

What connection? That's a theory with no solid basis. The silver-eye ability has no particular resemblance to the Fall Maiden power, except insofar as it makes their eyes glow, and even then the visual effect is different. Given that Cinder's eye colour didn't change to match Amber's after she obtained the power, while it's not inconceivable that they are related powers, I'm currently inclined to take Qrow's words at face value and assume that Maidenhood and silver-eyes are different things.

At any rate, in this quest the implication is that silver eyes = psyker, though we can't assume too much yet, as there might be something more to it.

Huh. You know, it never crossed my mind that Qrow might have been telling the truth to Ruby. It always felt like he was just trying to ease her into the idea gradually, as if he didn't already know everything.

Anyway, the silver eyes thing was significant enough for it to be Ozpin's first words to Ruby: they were the very first thing he noticed.

Though I'll grant you I hadn't thought of them being a marker for psykers. That could also be possible.

Your phrasing suggests it's already known WOQM though, while I can't recall it ever being implied like that. Did I miss something somewhere?

I imply everything.
That's right, you heard it here first folks.
Taiyang is Ollanius Pius. He just can't catch a break.

There's definitely significance to it, but once we've established that magic is a thing, and there was a man capable of empowering these four maidens, then a bloodline with eye-powers isn't too far fetched.

Not WOQM, I don't think, but of the humans we've seen with Psyker abilities, they've all had silver eyes. Summer may or may not have been a Psyker herself. Too small a sample size to say with certainty, but it's definitely suggestive.

Ruby's interlude does imply a connection between Ruby's silver eyes and her psyker abilities, if only by context.

Though, Shaman might be a better term, here, as that's what psykers were called way back before the Emperor came to be.

Adventures in Vale: Black the Beast
[X]It's been a long day and you need some time to yourself. Explore the grounds on your own.

It's very odd having time for yourself. No base to run, Grimm to kill or "wacky" antics to contain the collateral damage of. At your announcement of wishing to take a long vigorous walk Ciel shrugs and goes back to her scroll muttering about overdramatic super humans. You can only guess Nikos has a unusual personality. At least your team is around to give poor Ciel a sense of stability. The wall shudders as you close the reinforced door behind you and you begin to stomp happily down the corridors. You haven't felt this much freedom since you were a test subject.

Black the Beast descends from Shadows

It had gotten dark; the argument had been going on for hours. Why couldn't that stuck up Schnee just stop talking?

"What's gotten into you?"

"What's gotten into me? You're deplorable behaviour that's what!"

"My behaviours deplorable? I'm not the one clearly keeping secrets."

"I just don't see why you can't come out and tell us what's going on?" asked Yang. She meant well, Blake could understand where she was coming on. But with Ruby trapped with indecision on the side-lines and her own mind a mess at the moment, Blake wasn't even sure what the answer was.

"At least that Argent fellow was a true gentleman, dealing with that scruffy Faunus."

"Stop calling him that!"

"What, he was very polite, especially compared to that Faunus ragamuffin."

"Not him, the Faunus you keep forgetting is a person too!"

"He was caught stowing away on that boat, that's stealing a valuable service from the owners. Almost as bad as those Dust shops the Fang are robbing."

"Stop assuming the Faunus are to blame. There's no reason that they'd do such a thing."

"It's an organisation that despises humans everywhere. There's nothing they wouldn't stoop to. A few dust shops is the least of what they'd do to attack humanity. The Faunus of the White Fang are pure evil."

Enough was enough.

"There's no such thing as pure evil, why do you think they hate humanity so much? It's because of people like Cardin, people like you that forced the White Fang to take such drastic measures."

Then that stuck up little girl played the victim, as though her family hadn't done anything to do such a thing. She'd seen their camps, the slums the workers had been huddled into. Those broken soulless eyes burned into her memory. Those disappeared board members deserved what was coming to them; it was the extending of the attacks against those who had nothing to do with the war that she'd left the Fang over. The point was to end the bloodshed, not to add more pointless deaths to the toll. It was to her shame that it had taken so long to realise that, wrapped up in her own fantasy of being the freedom fighter.

"You want to know why I hate the White Fang? It's because they are a bunch of liars, thieves and murderers"

"WELL MAYBE WE WERE JUST TIRED OF BEING PUSHED AROUND!"

The room fell silent.

She did the only thing she could do. She ran. Again.

The stone hunters continued their vigil over the silently roaring Ursa. The electronic tones of the scroll breaking the nights hush. It attempts to mimic the sounds of creaking metal and a dying man's remorse with limited success.

"If I can't choose what I leave to this world, I can at least choose who I'm leaving it to. Do better Blake. Don't let my mistakes end your dream. Rebuild our dream as it was meant to be, not as it became." His gruff voice wavered slightly as it trailed off. Whether from blood loss or simple regrets.

Tears drip onto the scrolls screen as the message cuts out with the sound of the metal finally caving in. She sits on the rim of the fountain, her back the statue in the centre looming above her. At least this way their stone gazes cannot judge her past. This was meant to be a fresh start, a new beginning where she can finally stop running away and do something. But it all catches up in the end. She turned to look up at the statues behind her. The heroes and the monster, dragging her ribbon from her head as she wiped her tears away with her free hand.

"Penny was wrong by the way" came the calm voice from nowhere. She jumps in her skin, spinning into a crouch, Gambol Shroud drawn. Its origin slowly treads from the other side of the fountain, the immense presence causing the hair on the back of her neck to rise. Him, oh dust, don't kill me, don't kill me.

"I mean, you were the Faunus Girl from several years back, I can always remember a face, but I don't believe you were attempting to kill me. Maim me maybe, but considering what i had just done to your team, that's a reasonable response."

"Did you come here to gloat?"

"Why would I do that?" he asks with a genuinely confused look on his face. Her night vision can pick out the details now. He's aged, having grown taller, his muscles developing with the rest of his body. His eyes are less innocent now, though still containing that spark she sees in her team leader. The war has taken the youth from both of them. The only question now is what else it will force them to do.

"No" he replies "I'm just asking your intentions towards the people at this academy and more specifically Miss Schnee"

"You mean that spoilt little princess?" She sighs slightly. "I don't know what I'm going to do. Nothing against them, I'm done with that life. If equality is to occur, it has to be as true equals, a partnership in friendship. Not one forged by threats and a knife to the throat."

"Okay"

"Okay what?"

"I believe you"

"That easily?"

His eyes glimmer slightly in the gloom.

"I'd know if you were lying to me. You aren't as mysterious as you think Blake Belladona."

They fall into an awkward silence, neither wanting to break the uneasy truce.

"I knew you'd look better without the bow."

You both look to the voice, the monkey Faunus, Sun Wukong you remember, cocky smile on his face. He seems to have recovered. Enough to escape the ever vigilant nurses at least.

"I'm not interrupting anything am I?"

Blake needs some time away from her team. Sun is willing to keep her company until she gets her thoughts straight. You could stick around but your team may wonder where you've wandered off to. Being a shoulder to cry on for a confirmed terrorist isn't exactly a valid excuse. You may have let her off the hook, but you doubt Ironwood will.

Pick One:

[ ] Stick with Blake and Sun
Remain with the two Faunus but lose contact with your team for a period of time until you can think of a valid excuse.

[ ]Head back to your dorms and keep this a secret.
Remain in touch with the two Faunus, but if something comes up with them it will take time to respond.

Nigel rubbed his eyes as the sunlight streamed through the window of his room. Squinting at his surroundings, he flinched as the noise outside drummed painfully against the inside of his skull. Flashes of memory came and went as he attempted to figure out where the hell he was. He could remember which kingdom he was in. Always a good start. Vale, less cold then home, also good, though the sour taste in his mouth did cause pangs of regret for not bringing a nightcap from the base. The night…he asked around for a decent watering hole, was directed to a slightly run down establishment called Junior's. Could be better, but the maybe the crater in the dance-floor was aesthetics?

He made his way to the bar, had a delightful chat with the barman, made a very urgent call to the dear leader about something….

Someone had passed him a drink of some kind with fruit and after that it went blank. He was certain it was important, but what could it be?

Movement shifted the sheets to his left. He slowly rotated his head to the intruder in his bed. Messy black hair covered the intruder's face as the occupant groaned from her own hangover. A grin began to form on Nigel's face. Violently the covers were dragged back in the over direction, twisting his body to face the other side of the room. An identical black hair girl swore softly as she buried her face into her pillow.

"Twins" he muttered silently as he fist pumped the air, eyes scrunching in discomfort as his hangover pulsed.

Blake Belladona relationship developed.

I just started reading this... and I can't help but wonder what will be accomplished before Space Dad shows up, and how everyone will react to that.
