Oh dear, this could get messy very fast.

Vader is not a good person. Anikin Skywalker was once someone who wanted very badly to be a good person.

And then his life was a trauma conga that would make Taylor Hebert blush.
Oh I regret choosing my choice a lot now
Hey, don't worry about it. There will be plenty of chances for Vader to gradually become a better person. Just... remember that that which redeems consumes. Some of the atrocities Vader's committed, there's really no atoning for.

Very few paths have been outright closed to you. You're going to struggle if your goal is to maintain the empire. You're also going to struggle if your goal is redemption. It's going to take some choices that are personally painful for Vader and some failures to lead to a state that could possibly be called 'redeemed'. Questers are *bad* at deliberately making bad choices to make the main PC fail, so... redemption is unlikely.

That being said, it's possible to be reunited with Padmé in this path! She's probably not going to be happy with the path you take to get there, but it's doable! Haha. Hahaha.:rofl::lol:

I guess I can share with you guys some possible paths

One path that Empty would have easily lead to was the enforcement and rulership of the Empire gradually being replaced by droids designed by Vader, ending with the Droids seizing power of the galaxy. This would have possibly been quite bad for biological peoples, depending on the values Vader instilled in the droids, but it would have settled the Droid Rights question and would have freed a peoples who outnumbered biological peoples from slavery.

I see that as a redemptive path.

Another path that Empty could have easily lead to was a depressed Vader surrendering himself to the Rebels and being put to death, his last vision being of Padmé. It's unlikely SV will go in that direction.

1. Yes
2. No. Anikin is gone. It's possible to get rid of Vader too. But the young boy is gone, the young man is gone. You can be something new, but you can't go back.

Going back, regressing in your life progress, is like pouring water from a filled larger jug into a smaller one and expecting it all to fit in the smaller one.

Also another question where in the timeline are exactly ? Are we in right after order 66 ?

Personally, the most likely path forward I see is basically Anakin's views on 'democracy' made manifest. So still an empire, but an Empire where when people can't agree on stuff Vader makes them agree on stuff and he's more free to have fun using his mind to crush the tracheas of all the incompetent corrupt screwups.

First order of business: That pesky slavery business.

Hmm..Emperor Vader

Darth Vader shall be gone, Anakin is Gone - but what remains is one experienced in the Dark and Light (no Grey BS), one that fights well, and one that's freed from the Obligations of both orders.

New Imperial Constitution coming?

I don't want to be exact yet because there's so much supplementary material and the years between Episode III and Episode IV a new hope are so packed with stuff happening. I also have to decide which of those things are canon and which are not, and there's a *LOT*.

That being said, this is *well after* order 66. Vader has done some awful things already in the name of the empire and the Imperial Senate is a feckless watered-down parody of the republic senate. Leah is probably in finishing school right now, and I suspect she'll be a senator in a few more years. Unless that gets butterflied away by choices y'all make.

Ironically the path most likely to go 'grey' was the Betrayal path in my mind, as that version of Vader is still driven by positive emotions he had towards Sheev Palpatine. Those emotions having turned into anger and rage.

That Vader would have chewed the scenery, and always have excuses why whatever evils he committed were needed for the greater good. That was also the Vader most likely to rule the galaxy with his children as a family, and started a Skywalker dynasty.

It is unlikely that a free Vader will follow a 'grey' path. Forge his own path, yes. He'll very much forge his own path.

Ugh. I'm itching to close the voting and write the next bit. I'm practically vibrating. This is the part I hate about quests, waiting. Well, at least I can start writing now since your decision doesn't *really* effect the next sequence much.

Bow down before the one you serve
You're, honestly, a great speech giver. You remember many great speeches that you've given to the clones under your command. But the difference in context of a speech given to a squadron of soldiers and a speech given before a smattering of politicians is not a trifling matter.

Not that that matters particularly much to you. You are free, and if this empire burns to the ashes around you, it does not matter. It was never your legacy.

"Emperor Palpatine is dead" You announce before the Imperial Senate, your outfit polished and gleaming. "He was murdered in his chambers by a remnant of the treacherous Jedi Order."

"It has fallen upon me to succeed him. Know that I am not the same man Palpatine was. Know that I do not plan to lead the Empire in the same directions that he did. But also know that I am his legitimate successor, with full authority to lead in his absence, illness, or death as you can find in these doccuments provided."

You begin to pace along the podium, gesticulating wildly "Know that there are many among you who are traitors, or worse... weak willed. Know that I plan to excise this weakness, this treachery, from the Empire. I will lead the Galaxy to a new age of greatness. All I ask is that you unite behind me."

You pause for the thunderous applause.

"As the first initiative of the New Empire I plan...

[][Plan]Restart Clone Production
To renew the production of Clone troopers across the Galaxy. Under the Emperor we had begun shifting away from Cloned troopers programmed and trained with perfect battlefield awareness to human soldiers recruited across the galaxy. I believe this to have been a mistake. The laxness of baseline troopers is what allowed an assassin into Palpatine's chambers. We shall improve the gene-seed and learning programs to usher in a new era of clone soldiers!"

You remember the clone soldiers. They were good at what they did. Damn good. Leading your squadrons of clone troopers was one of your few good memories. With this decree, you could get to play general once more.

[][Plan]End Slavery once and for all
To end slavery across the galaxy. For far too long the outer systems have been overtaken by scum and villainy. Anarchy and chaos. We shall end their suffering. We will declare war on the Hutts, who wrongly think themselves our equals, and when we are finished Nal Hutta shall burn. I see a fleet of a thousand stars marching into the distant night. And I see them returning victorious. FOR THE EMPIRE!"

You never forgave Watto his small abuses, and you never forgave the Hutts for their large ones. You plan to drink quite deeply of their suffering.

[][Plan]Start a massive hunt for any remaining Jedi and Sith knowledge and artifacts
To confiscate and destroy all remaining Force Artifacts in the galaxy. The force is dangerous. The dual attacks on Palpatine and the betrayal of the Empire by the Jedi order prove that. We must gather these artifacts together, assess them for how dangerious they are, and ultimately destroy them before they can corrupt more to their disordered causes."

Actually you plan to study them for yourself, not destroy them. But the senate doesn't need to know that.

[][Plan]Restore (some) power to the Imperial Senate
To return some power to the Imperial Senate. I am not the man Palpatine was. Palpatine's intellect was vast and purposeful. Without him, we must muddle along as best we can, and who better to advise me than the men and women of the imperial senate. I come before you in humility, to ask you to share your own learning and wisdom with the empire once more."

You... don't really want to spend too much energy running the empire. You have more important things to do. Better to offload as much as possible into hands that you can trust to be too busy backstabbing one another to backstab you.

[][Plan]Design and build superweapons so that our supremacy can never be threatened again
To design weapons and defenses so that such humiliation can never occur again."

You don't know what form they'll take. Maybe some sort of droid army, though the thought of such makes you shudder. Perhaps you'll pour more funds into the Ultimate Weapon Program and simply call what results a done deal. Something big and impressive to terrorize the masses into compliance.
