"We stand at a crossroads, with myriad paths before us," Lorgar's voice resonated, commanding attention. "Each path has its own boon and burden. We must choose our course with care and foresight."
Your nod conveyed your understanding of the gravity of the moment.
"Let us first talk about simple meditative prayers," you suggested, your tone reflective. "It allows people a personal communion with their faith and would help power of the amulets."
Lorgar's gaze turned inward, pondering your words.
"True," he mused. "Meditation nurtures devotion and unwavering focus. Each soul may imbue the amulets with their beliefs and intents."
"Yet," He continued, "we must not dismiss the strength of unity and cohesion. A communal prayer could unite our spirits, magnifying our intentions and binding us together."
You nodded, acknowledging the merit of your insight. "Aye," you concurred. "But we must tread carefully. Collective prayer may sow discord and distraction if not wielded with caution."
After a moment of contemplation, your resolve solidified.
"Given our circumstances," you began, your voice ringing with determination, "I believe meditative prayers hold the most promise. It fosters a deep, personal bond with faith and themselves."
Lorgar nodded, contemplative. "Indeed, the strong shall gain the most. But what of the weaker among us? Shall they be left to falter?"
Your brow furrowed, pondering his question. "That… is something I did not think about. We need a way to ensure all can contribute, regardless of strength."
After a beat of silence, Lorgar proposed, "What if we pair the strong with the weak? The strong can guide the weak, unlocking their hidden potential."
Impressed by his insight, you nodded. "A fine solution. It shall foster unity and harmony within our tribe."
With that, Lorgar rose from his chair to go teach the tribe. As he reached for the tent flap, however, a sudden hesitation gripped him. He turned to look at you, his eyes searching yours for a moment before he shook his head and started to leave.
But something in you stirred, a feeling of unease at his sudden change in demeanor. You reached out, gently grasping his arm to halt his departure. "Lorgar, wait," you said, your voice soft but firm. "What troubles you?"
He shakes his head and turns to leave once again, tugging his arm, but you refuse to let go.
"Lorgar," you repeated, your voice soft yet filled with concern, "what is it that truly troubles you? I sense a weight upon your shoulders, a burden you carry alone."
For a moment, Lorgar hesitated again, his gaze searching yours as if weighing his words. Finally, he spoke, his voice tinged with weariness.
"Father, the visions never stopped," he admitted, his eyes betraying a hint of fear. "Visions of the Golden Emperor arriving with a Crimson Giant, my brother."
"How long have these visions been troubling you?" you inquired, your voice filled with empathy.
"For some time now," Lorgar replied, his voice tinged with fatigue. "At first, they were fleeting, like whispers in the wind. I could close my mind to them thanks to your boon. But they have grown stronger, more insistent, demanding my attention."
You could see the toll these visions were taking on him, the lines of exhaustion etched upon his face. "And yet you keep them at bay," you observed, a sense of pride swelling within you. "You are strong, Lorgar, stronger than you know."
"I try," Lorgar admitted, a weary smile playing at his lips. "But they are becoming more and more tiring, more difficult to resist."
Both of you pause at that, the silent stretching into minutes. Finally, you decide to break it.
"Lorgar," you began, your voice soft but resolute, "there is something I must confess to you. Your service to me was complete the moment you remade the rituals of the Mechanicus. However, I was saving the next grant for something special."
Lorgar looked at you, a mixture of confusion and curiosity in his eyes. "What do you mean, Father?" he asked, his voice tinged with uncertainty.
"I was planning to awaken your soul in the same way that my soul was awakened," you explained, your words measured and deliberate. "I could not before and recently gained the power to do so. But if your visions are as bad as you say, then I am willing to set that aside. Your well-being is more important than any plans I may have had."
Lorgar's eyes widened in surprise, his expression one of disbelief. "You would do that for me?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
You nodded, reaching out to grasp his hand in yours, giving it a gentle squeeze. "Of course, Lorgar. You are my son, and your happiness and health are paramount to me. If granting you the ability to control your visions is what you need, then I will do everything in my power to make it happen."
Tears welled up in Lorgar's eyes, his expression one of gratitude and relief. "Thank you, Father," he said, his voice choked with emotion. "I cannot express how much this means to me."
With that, Lorgar opens his mouth to make the wish, yet found himself visibly hesitating.
"Father," he began, his voice tinged with uncertainty, "I... I don't know what to do. The visions, they are pressing on me in ways that are becoming painful. Yet, I feel that I can hold out for longer. I want what you offer so much. What should I do?"
You studied him for a moment, the flickering fire casting shadows across his face. You could see the struggle within him, torn between his desire to endure and his need for relief.
"Lorgar," you said, your voice gentle yet firm, "I cannot make this decision for you. Only you know what is best for yourself. But know this: your well-being is my utmost concern. If you feel that you can hold out for longer, then I will support you in that decision. But if the pain becomes too much to bear, then do not hesitate to seek relief."
