Dream Dragon

That sounds really dangerous; all it takes is a scratch, or misjudging the time. I guess you wouldn't want to use Dream Mist + Dragon form + Dark Scales because it's too conspicuous and might have collateral?

"Got a moment?" Meria's voice made John look up from his meal.

"Sure." He gestured to the chair in front of him. He did come here to talk with people as well as eat.

"So, I was wondering if I could get your opinion on this." Meria set down a small dragon sculpture with a bowl in it's grasp. The dragon did seem fairly familiar too. It looked like it was made of silver.

"Wow, nice. I like the details. It doesn't look like a conventional dragon either." John looked over the sculpture.

It was a good piece. Though he doubted that people would recognize the reason it was sitting on clouds instead of other things, or how it's eyes were painted gold. He did wonder about the silvering effect. It wasn't metal now that he was looking closer at it.

"Had a dream about this particular style of dragon." The woman smiled fondly at the thing. "Changed my life. Haven't had the exact thing again, but I still remember it."

"Seems a bit personal then. Why would you want to talk with me on it?" John tried not to let on about knowing anything about it. Admittedly he was pretty secure in the fact that no one sane would connect him to a dream dragon.

"I plan on making a few of these and selling them honestly. The design is nice, and I like how the bowl fits into the front part. You do a lot of dragon sketches right?" Meria nodded at the man as she spoke and traced the bowl.

"I do do a lot of those type." John pulled out his sketchbook. None of them were on his dragon form, but he did like doing those and other things.

"Would you be willing to do something jointly then?" Meria didn't meet his eyes as she looked at the dragon in front of them both.

[X] Theater

The moth wasn't there by the time the Dragon had arranged a play at the theater. At first there had been a bit of dismay there, but he figured he couldn't meet her there every single time. This was a good time to see exactly how rewarding it was without a fellow theater goer to play off of.

Honestly, once he started he figured that it was a blessing in disguise. For one thing, there was no real script. The plays and entertainments were all unplanned and bizarre dream like things that he had to add lib through. And when it was coherent, well...

"No I do not want the princess!" The Dragon snarled out and pointed a wing at the blonde woman with the pink dress. She waved at the audience. "What kind of dragon do you take me for?"

"But you have to take her! It's tradition! Other people will start spreading rumors about how not even a dragon would want her!" The king protested loudly, throwing his hands up in the air. "See, look, you're making her cry!"

The dragon glanced back at the girl and she hid the mirror she had been using to fix her hair behind her back. Her eyes went wide and teary. "Please Mister Lizard." She whimpered.

"Lizard, really?" The dragon deadpanned. "Couldn't you have at least tried to fake a compliment?"

"Ahem." The king coughed gently. "She does happen to have the key to the treasury too. It would be truly awful if we lost the gold in it as well." A pile of gold was wheeled in from the side stage.

The dragon made a show of being tempted. "No, she called me a lizard!"

"Clearly, you are a reptile of a discerning nature, I will have her apologize." The king immediately turned to the woman, who had pulled out her mirror again. "Apologize to the overgrown gecko!"

"..." The dragon just stared at the king, as did the princess.

"I'll double the gold." The king stated, and another pile of gold was wheeled in.

"Now you're just asking for it." The dragon muttered.

"I know, like, right?" The princess commented. "He did that for the knight last night too!"

"I am here to save you from the wretched knave my princess!" A knight charged into the stage.

"Wait, I haven't even agreed to anything here!" The dragon protested immediately.

"Yeah, like I have to be carried away first!" The princess agreed.

The king clapped his hands together and rubbed them with a large smile. "Excellent. Slay the dragon! My daughter's value will skyrocket!"

"No slaying the dragon!" The dragon in question continued to protest.

"Foul knave, you shall pay for your crimes!" The knight pointed his sword at the king and charged at the man.

"You're supposed to slay the dragon, not me!" The king began to run around the stage. "Gecko! I'll pay you triple if you slay the knight!" Another pile of gold was wheeled onto the stage.

"You have no idea how tempted I am to help the knight." The dragon muttered very loudly.

"No more of your foul insults, your crude attempts of bribery!" The knight declared loudly and continued to chase the king. "Your foul odor ends here!"

"I bathe weekly!" The king objected.

The dragon looked from one side of the stage to another, and then casually stuck out his tail in front of the king. The man tripped and tumbled, and then the knight stuck his prop sword into the kings.

"Noooo! My profit share!" The king cried out as he 'died.'

"My hero!" The princess immediately moved to the knight in reply to the 'death.'

Snorting, the dragon began to wheel out the piles of gold in the background. One in his teeth, the other two in forelegs. He had to strain fairly comically to do so as the two lovebirds in front of him continued to speak loving and obviously fake platitudes at each other.

Basically, we have one action to stay grounded, graft dream on Devouring and Sheriff, then repair to be at full health for bounty and bounty hunt. It's the most gossamer-effective action we've found, but probably also the most dangerous. We need to build up the hoard again.

We know for a fact it is perfetly fine if we spend a week focused on dreams, so intead of wasting time and delaying getting more abilities we may as well be eficiente about it and graft three dreams at once, then we build our hoard a bit and next week we hunt.

I don't want to do bounty hunting in the city, since we can't actually eat our bounty. It would be a bit of a waste.

The city is good for building up gossamer with theater when we are weaker, but I'd rather actually use our new ability.

I think some real world capability might be needed soon. Our rivals are going to be...difficult.
I agree. I think we should start playing ball w/ scott and spending time w/ Harold more, for the sake of exercise and building up closer ties. If necessary we can make up for it in the dreamworld by not going to the library/cafe/etc.

Mighty Tail = extra damage every attack turn.
I kind of want to get Dark Scales, tho it might ruin our image unless there are stars in them or something.

If Meria starts distributing the dragons, and any of our rivals so much as see one, they will know we have a link to the artist. Thankfully, not many of them are overly aggressive.

The tale was pretty amusing.

-Breath of Eternity (??, Requires 10 wonder, special event)
Can the special event be triggered by choosing to use our Dream of Wonder on it, or should the second comma be "and" instead?

(Otherwise, the ability votes are kinda bad; we're getting both Teeth and Sheriff's Star at the moment, which can't work together, and the others do not seem to have any particular plan; just sorta throwing abilities at the wall to see what ends up being useful.)

Except we're voting to give up our Evening action on an irregular basis? We're going to be spreading those statues and similar art; maybe as an experiment for finding influences on the dream realm other than dreams and faith, or maybe as a movement that functions as a cult without appearing to be one, but definitely as a waking action sink.

Teeth and Sherif's star won't clash. I will re-write the abilities slightly to clarify that.

Also ACK! Caught an error with the Teeth! It's supposed to be cohesion, not Phantasm. I've corrected it. If people want to change out the Teeth dream I will allow it.

Damn, that's significantly worse. I think the people who voted teeth wanted to one-shot fire rival, but this appears to be pretty much worthless, as Breath kills all the enemies with cohesion less than our wonder anyway.
Unless this is a free action? As in
Enemy: 20 HP
Us: Breath, enemy goes to 10.
Instantly: Teeth triggers, enemy dies.

Not bad, then. It's reducing the effective cohesion of all enemies by 10.
I think teeth is still valid, being crowd control.
A dream of dragon fire: Mild damage reduction for some enemy types, might have let us flee last time. Any significant enemies are likely to have abilities of note, so a decent all-round pick. Also unlocks a shiny mystery box.
A dream of a sheriff's star: Lets us collect bounties properly. Bounties seem to be the best for gossamer, so this is a good thing.
A nightmare of glowing eyes: Damage reduction is good, but I'm worried about the social effects.
A nightmare of cruel spite: Too slow for us to use most of the time.
Stardust Wings: Malus effects haven't really come into play before, so I hesitate to call it useful. However, it does unlock an automatic ability to flee, which can save nice amounts of gossamer if we find something we're outmatched by.
Devouring Teeth: Effectively doubles the alpha strike damage of Breath. Any enemies with cohesion equal to or less than double our wonder instantly die. Also, unlocks healing ability, which could give us a good return on gossamer.
Mighty Tail: Crowd control based on Phantasm, as opposed to CC based on wonder.
Dark Scales Real world capability. Also unlocks the sweet Scales upgrades that can lead to attacks of 5 or more being reduced by 3, and most attacks are 5 or more.

Could someone explain why people are voting to spend time with Harold when we could be grafting three dreams at once ? I understand that there is a certain worry that spending all our time in dreams will cause problems, but we already demonstrated twie over that a single week isn't enought for that and no one metioned any reason why taking with Harold specificaly would be worth the oportunity cost.

It's more that we want to graft and gather gossamer, and thus the morning slot is the only one open to do anything in the real world. Playing ball with Scott would be good too.
Harold seems to be the option that gives us information on the real world, while Scott seems to give information about our social links. Patrol seems to just introduce a new social link, when we're already neglecting all of ours.
