USN Submarines (I believe the Ohio-class was first) use Hydraulic loaders so they don't have to use the manual block-and-tackle system. Dunno why the Destroyers don't use a similar variation.

But the ship I was on just had tubes. No cranes, rails, or anything resembling a reload system was nearby. I can only assume they manually wheel the things in on cart.
