I don't get it. Elaborate, please.
The image is of Beatrice from Umineko. She basically arranges a board game where she kills people through "magic" and the protagonist, Battler, must somehow be able to explain them all through logical theories. The twist? Being the GM, Beatrice must make the cases be winnable, all of the murders must be able to be done with normal feats and explainable through non-magical theories, all while making it hard to guess that Battler simply have to give up and admit it being magic (not because it is magic, but because he can't think of any theory that could fit the murder situations).

Basically, every single magic there is from imagination and an extremely liberal graphical representation of what is really happening. It's ironic because the image says "I don't have to explain shits," when all of the magic there must be explainable. It is technically correct for our current situation though, in that yes, "I" don't have to explain shits, you guys are the people who have to explain them.

[X] Defy his orders. Stay.
-[X] If possible, advise the Captain of Tulsa to go a wedge formation. Iowa at the tip of the spear with Mahan and Porter on the flanks. Atlanta will be on the flank that is likely to get penetrate, while Indy will be on the least likely. Tulsa will remain in the center.

-[X] Run this plan by Iowa first, get her to approve it. If she wont, do the same as above, sans Iowa.

And then it turns out it's a little Hoppo-chan who lightly (but repeatedly) hits your knees, telling you to go home.

And then it turns out to be this fine lady.
We need a deus ex machina to save us from our stupidity suicidal tendancies insubordinate streak that thing that Iowa's gonna do to us if we survive...

Is it too much to hope that our previous call for help during the last ambush reached some better help, that's even now cruising to our rescue?

Edit: Thank you, MissingJimbo, thank you!

To do strikethrough text, it's {s} {/s}. You just need brackets. Like this

Well, according to TBD...

What I meant is that this could have been a complete non-fight, a challenging but doable fight, or a grindhouse that I would not expect you to get out of alive.
You got the doable fight.

Of course, as I noted earlier, a sea of contacts does not seem like a "challenging but doable fight" so either things are not as bad as they look or that was a lie my superior officer told me.

Orders may be orders, but you are a Destroyer of the United States Navy! You won't leave behind these brave sailors and their valiant ship! It wouldn't be right.

"'This old tub'," you cross your arms in defiance, "Is a warship of the United States Navy! And her sailors are some of the bravest men and women I've ever met, to sail these Abyssal-clogged seas as long as they have! I'm sorry, Captain, but I can't flee and leave you here!"

"I appreciate the sentiment," he shakes his head sadly, "but you're just one Destroyer. Are the others willing to sacrifice themselves for one LCS? We can build more of these vessels, Porter, but if any of you are lost, we cannot replace you."

"But we can sail in a wedge formation," you suggest insistently, "It'll work, we can fend them off. We can protect the Tulsa."

He purses his lips, clearly not convinced, but sighs, walking over to the windows.

"I don't have control over what you do once you leave," he admits, "That's up to Iowa, but I do want you off my ship. Assist us, use us as a distraction, I don't really suppose I can make you do either one, but I would prefer you run."

"...Understood," you turn to leave, grim resignation on your face.

Looks like he would allow you to assist, but now you have to convince your actual superior officer/flagship of this course of action.

When you see Iowa, you should tell her that....

Well, I'm no good at typing up passionate and convincing speeches so I'll leave it for others to come up with something, but I do advocate that it has to have the line "We didn't abandon Mahan to sink and we sure as hell are not going to abandon the Tulsa and her crew!"

[x] We didn't leave Mahan behind, and we won't leave the Tusla behind either!

[X] Tell Iowa your plan
- [X] If she tries to get the hell out of dodge: "We didn't leave Mahan behind, and we won't leave the Tusla behind either!"

If you wait long enough I'm sure the Shitty Kitty can replace us as fleet fuckup. On a carrier scale too!

Give it to Iowa straight. We're hosed and Tulsa is offering to be bait so we can live a few minutes longer and we're going with whether she wants to or not. The world wonders what your response will be.

You can shame a warship into action much faster if you know their history.
