[X] Defy his orders. Stay.
- [X] If possible, advise the Captain of Tulsa to go a wedge formation. Iowa at the tip of the spear with Mahan and Porter on the flanks. Atlanta will be on the flank that is likely to get penetrate, while Indy will be on the least likely. Tulsa will remain in the center.

Sounds like a plan.

No one gets left behind!

You know it might be a good idea to tell Iowa and the others about the situation before we decide make any last stands etc.

What I personally think is that we need everyone if we want to succeed this. Telling them about this... gives them the opportunity to object or ditch us. Yeah, it's kind of a scummy thing to do, thank goodness it's not part of the IC reasoning.

Hold the phone here: I thought we were not getting the " impossible to win" scenario. Because a veritable sea of contacts doesn't sound like a very winnable situation. Unless it's not as bad as it looks...

Given Japan's history and that the US would probably rather avoid an international incident... Well, even if some did come back with her, I would say it's not likely she was allowed to bring any.

You say that like she'd hand over a W19. or the W23's that followed it.

It is her literal Nuclear option. She's almost certainly got at least 1 buried away for a no hope situation.

Problem is she came in her 1943 rigging, not her 1985. That was flown over separately...

Hey, wait-a-minute! Willy and co are shipgirls, not ships. That opens up a whole new avenue of strategic mobility for them! Why didn't the USN just fly the group out to Japan?

There won't be any papers left to work with if they're dead. Fight now, saves lives, then desk job later.
oh god please not the paperwork I hate it so much
I'd rather fight now, save lives, and desk job never.

But this is all talk till I put up a vote, therefore-

-[X] Run this plan by Iowa first, get her to approve it. If she wont, do the same as above, sans Iowa.

[X] Write in...

"Captain, there is enough firepower in that fleet to shred the Tulsa, do a tapdance on her corpse and still have enough DDs, VTs and VBs left over to catch us a thousand miles from Japan. We'll have a much better chance of not dying if we just park on your deck and shoot while you get us out of here at 45 knots to our 31."

The exact weight of the Ship Girls is... dubious. I mean, Fubuki and friends put Yamato on a raft, and tried to pull her even though she didn't even have her rigging on. The result was their complete inability to tow her at any appreciable speed, as if they were trying to pull an actual Battleship, and not a girl.

And yet, unless the base she lives in is indestructible, Yamato clearly doesn't weigh that much, or else she could never go upstairs without falling through the floor.

So... I dunno.

The Weight Paradox of KanColle. Way to go, Japan.

Hm... How about this?
Once on the water, they take on the weight characteristics of the ship they once were?
This holds true for them, and not their rigging.
Of course, this also holds true for over the water, meaning that if they were to try and fly over the ocean in a plane...

For some reason, this is voided when they are on a ship on the ocean.

AKA Magicks!!

On the other hand, I believe that the shipgirls themselves "weigh" exactly as their real life counterpart but without armament. In another word, gunless battleship. The rigging will weigh exactly how much their real life counterparts weigh, i.e. Yamato's rig will weigh exactly as how the weight of 9x46cm Arty weigh plus assorted other secondaries.

Therefore, when combined...well...you do the math.
