Okay, first off, love the chapter, but:

The Nox denounced him? The peace-loving, ultra-advanced, technologically-and-culturally-dedicated-to-stealth-and-hiding-from-their-enemies Nox? The ones that the Goa'uld aren't even aware that exist? Did you mean Tollan, or Asgard? Because it seems really, really weird that the Nox would break their secretive isolation just to denounce someone.

Patience.

There are more Chapters.

Yet more remains to be said before this Arc is over.

Most likely Torrmander went to the Nox, asked them for help with getting the Goa'uld out of the galaxy, told them what he was doing/had done and they said 'fuck no you mass murdering ass hole.'

I also like how Torroar learns from his mistakes and decides to do the long way for building a empire.

Being effectively immortal, time has no meaning for him.

So I guess the latest Cry of Gimli has been upgraded with extra-strength toilet bowl cleaner if its off fighting the ori...

Well these are some very interesting chapters. Having everything from the view point of SG-1 means we get to see all the ripples that occurred without all of the inner conflict that the Network is probably feeling right now.

Plus I love the little cultural touches. Like how Teal'c welcomes the generosity of the people of Wu with open arms because culturally it's considered insulting to refuse the generosity of the people of Wu.

These chapters even seem set things up in such a way that it could almost fit in the series itself.

There's a powerful galactic empire which hates the Goa'uld, but they can't do anything because of the atrocities the Goa'uld would do should their armies approach. At the same time their Emperor is dealing with a massive "rebellion" led by one of his children who was driven insane. Its almost the perfect set up for SG-1 to come on the scene and shake things up enough for the Empire of Wu to go on the offensive again.

Really if I was watching StarGate for the first time and the Empire of Wu popped up it wouldn't seem out of place. If anything it would seem like a set up for later storylines.

I wonder how the U.S. government will react to the knowledge that such a powerful empire exists?

How many of the original enemies of StarGate are left? With Anubis gone and the Ori wiped out that just leaves the Replicators and Wraith I think?

53 – Way Back In Days Of Old, There Were Legends Told
Loved it!

I'm realllly interested now to see what went on from your side of things. This "Sons" and "Children" thing isn't something I expected from you. I want to see where this went.... And if you won't abandon hope and try again. Since everyone needs companions. Even Dirch-Sama.

I think the Wraith might also be dead. It makes more sense to go after the them before trying to tackle the Ori.
At least I'd go after them first.
Hmm Cao Cao never said all of his children went nuts. It could be that others of his brood battle in Pegasuses and Ida.

I'm pretty sure they denounced him because his actions got some people killed, who'd otherwise survived in Goa'uld slavery. He kinda fucked up, failing to anticipate the Goa'uld reaction, but on the other hand the Nox could have interfered if they'd actually given a fuck.

You did something, there was colateral damage, denouncement! Seems right up their alley. On the other hand I'm not sure why someone would care about a denouncement from a radically non-interventionist, isolationist polity.

Probably something along those lines. The reaction of the commander would probably not have been much nicer. I think there are rather huge differences in philosophy that could get rather nasty if it wasn't for the nature of Nox politics.

I assume he went after the Wraith first (Goa'uld aside) by simple virtue of them being actively mudering defenseles innocents.

Then Ida because the Asgard are just Bros[TM]. But their plight can be put off for a few centuries as their uploading means there are no real casualities, if it has even started yet.

The Ori, while assholes, aren't actively comitting genocide against their own people, so they can wait until torroar is good and ready.

What I wonder is the ext nature of the detente with the System Lords. If the Empire of Wu is forbidden from approaching Goa'uld territory, that still leaves bottling them up. There are after all a lot of planets the snakes abandoned, but that retain a human population.

Then there is proxy warfare. Give the Tokra a safe haven from which to operate from along with supplies, and they will happily make the system lords lives difficult.

That's probably be Earths role in this. They get support from the Empire as long as they keep messing with the Goa'uld.

One thing that's gonna be funny is the inevitable NID shenanigans, though.

Including Senator Kinsey finding out how many stealthed Droids follow him around.

I doubt Kinsey and NID would be stupid enough to try and steal from the Empire of Wu.

Edit: On second thought maybe they would.....
I miss Kinsey's spiels of Americas manifested destiny.

He was the perfect representative of the current state of the Republicans.

I remembered the time when he said that God will protect them from the aliens. At the time I didn't appreciate how realistic his character was, but I do now. :D

Ah, Cortana, you totally correct person about how torturous it is to just wait around as an incredibly powerful AI. If only the Halo series had continued after 3 instead of halting, then I might learn what happened with you and the Master Chief.

Shut up. Nothing after Halo 3 is canon.

Torroar confirmed for GM of good taste.

I doubt Kinsey and NID would be stupid enough to try and steal from the Empire of Wu.

Yes they would be. And as long as they don't draw the Emperor's attention they'll probably get away with it because SGC's reputation appears to be pretty good in the Empire of Wu, and they'll be able to ask the Empire the pipe down a little while they try to deal with the situation.

Of course, it then depends on whether the NID would be stupid enough to keep going. And if they are that stupid the Eyes of the Emperor may decide to get involved. Should that happen I anticipate many mysterious deaths in the US's political and corporate landscape.

It seems like the Empire of Wu would be willing to trade very minor technologies that would not too negatively affect Earth society or give one group like the US too great of an advantage over their rivals. Of course the NID would not settle for that seeking to take advantage of Wu allowing them to entire their domain to steal other technologies both for Earth's defense and profit of its senior members.

Now the Eyes could decide to make an embarrashing example of the NID when they inevitable find out or use it as a pathway of influencing Earth's society while having deniability.

There was much sarcasm but no sass in this chapter. I have to say that I am already missing the sass. Please bring Captain Sun back.
