I'm sure we're not going to be killed off in the prologue!

You know, I kinda wish that we could Persuade them that we welcome this chance to prove ourselves to them? :V

[X] Persuade. You will convince the Sororitas that such a course is perhaps unwise and certainly unnecessary. There is another way.
-[X] Know that I respect the situation you have been presented with. Were I in your place, even I, whom you know to be merciful in word and deed, would be hard-pressed not to detain and verify. But I ask also that you respect mine. I have been given this blessing for my words, and my actions. I cannot, in good conscience, sit in silence and isolation when there is yet more work to be done in His name. Have you ever had reason to suspect my message, my faith, or my flock before the Inquisitor's declaration, in all my years as Cardinal? Have not my years of loyal service in His name earned me at least the opportunity to give all I can, as long as I am able? I will not resist your tests, but I beg this, that I not be delayed from my works.

They know we have super persuasion powers, so trying to persuade them regardless sounds risky. Going with them without trying to talk our way out of it first sounds like it'll speak well of our character.

If they do lock us in a cell and constantly taze us thats great! We can train integrity and resistance!

Wish that the Emperor had given us a
Heavenly Mandate Marking
that would cut right though all this uncertainty.

"I wish the GM would have given us an ability that would utterly trivialize dealings with any groups or individuals who might have legitimate reason to be suspicious of our allegiance or motives, and generally let us steamroll our way through internal opposition. Who cares about established lore and thematics, or the narrative, or meaningful challenges; it's not like any of those things actually matter."

"Have you ever had reason to suspect my message" The Cardinal been preaching the heresy that mutation is not always evil, that even if someone is not 100% standard human (e.g. psykers) can still have true human souls. If he is a psyker, then his message is a selfish one, and he has been avoiding being Sanctioned. If he is a demonhost, then his message is clearly aimed at corrupting a shrine world into accepting mutation and becoming a daemonworld.

"I beg this, that I not be delayed from my works" That is an extremely worrying request from a possibly possessed individual, especially after a meeting with the entire clergy. To the suspicious(paranoid), it could easily be taken to mean that the corruption is in the final stages. A Tzeentch daemon would be happy to be detained, if it can complete the world's damnation before the tests identify it.

In my opinion, this would work better to convince the Sisters if you remove the words : "message" and "delayed".
e.g. "Have you ever had reason to suspect my faith, or my flock before the Inquisitor's declaration, in all my years as Cardinal?"

Persuade is a tricky option (that is why it requires a write-in argument).
Comply is safest, at the cost of taking the most time.
Resist lets you strike first, and is a risky but quicker choice.
Persuade can have the best results (quick and no combat) but it also risks the worst (an attack by the Sisters with them having the initiative).

Mmmm... To be fair exalted was kind of designed to steamroll through whatever got put in front of them.

On the topic of trap options; I agree that all choices are viable. Beating the sisters to a pulp; getting back on the shuttle then having the sisters hunted down to the last woman could work but would be hell to pull off (the escaping bit not the having them killed bit). Likewise a few months being tortured to be absolutely 100% definitely sure we aren't tainted could give us the possibility of social-fuing the Canoness. The problem is that being valid doesn't mean it's a good choice and frankly I think submission sends the wrong message to others. The Canoness might be serious about giving us a shot but the next Fanatic almost certainly won't. Just look at the Inquisitor; he knew we weren't heretics he just decided he didn't care. That maintaining the status quo was more important than justice.
No, submission is a fantastic message. Being willing to surrender to the judgement of the Canoness sends a perfect picture to everyone, showing that despite our blessing, we are willing to surrender to what is literally seen as one of the most holy organizations in the entire Imperium, and that we have not been struck by hubris. Would a daemon do the same? Would a psyker-lord so put himself at risk? No, truly we are a blessed saint, wisely recognizing the judgement and capability of the Adepta Sororitas.

Persuade is a trap option. This is a procedure they're following. Yes they need someone to talk to the suspect, but that doesn't mean that the Dialogus can't serve an additional purpose. Namely, bait for the suspected psyker/daemon.
maugan ra: "hey my name is maugan ra, this quest hasnt even lasted a month, i dont do trap options"

questers: "maugan ra is FAKE NEWS the option is A TRAP it will DESTROY US"
Quest over effectively, either we are stuck in the sororitas abbey for months being tortured endlessly to prove we aren't a psyker, which by surviving we fail, or we refuse and are immediately gunned down/start a civil war against a shit load of power armored bolter bitches.
yes, maugan ra ends the quest now, after they explicitly told us they were not sure and that the emperor has blessed saints before - he added an option to end the quest right here, not even out of what is effectively the tutorial because fuck his players am i right or am i right, if we don't pick your enlightened vote choice, o, bodhisattva of questing, we have NO CHOICE and have ENDED THE QUEST

or maybe thats not how it works lol

No clearly that is how it works because this is 40K and everything is doomed to be grimdark and depressing forever so all of the options being traps that bad end the quest makes perfect sense

clearly maugan ra is actually tzeentch in disguise

luckily I have seen through his fiendish deceptions and am here to warn you
But what if you are an agent of tzeentch warning us about his machinations so you can gain our trust?

But what if you are an agent of tzeentch warning us about his machinations so you can gain our trust?

That is an excellent question

but consider the following

even if he is who he claims to be, maugan ra is a known phoenix lord, and as we all know, the eldar are huge dicks

who is to say this entire quest isn't just an eldar scheme to fuck us over and have a good laugh at the mon-keigh's expense

think about it

My 40K lore isn't the strongest, but, don't the religious authorities in the Imperium have fairly quick ways of testing for Chaos? "Throw holy water at it and see if it burns"-quick?

Mmmm... To be fair exalted was kind of designed to steamroll through whatever got put in front of them.
Eh. Exalts are strong, not invincible.

More like being low key tortured actually if I'm not mistaken.

Sure, truly sanctified relics can burn daemons, but they don't do shit to merely mortal cultists or psykers(who need not even be Chaos aligned, just self serving and powerful). Not to mention said relics are also useful for the ruinous powers in their rituals or for corruption, so its not like they're going to break out the relics in case its a plot to destroy or corrupt them.

So they can probably rule out fairly quickly that we're actually not a warp entity, but cannot rule out being a psyker abusing power, or being literally possessed.

It is absolutely true that the eldar are dicks. But then, it is suspicious that you are trying to warn us instead of further screwing us over, which could indicate heresy...

I know the only way to solve this! I challenge you to a game of Paradox-Billiards-Vostroyan-Roulette-Fourth Dimensional-Hypercube-Chess-Strip Poker! If you lose, you will be handed over to the Ordo Malleus for interrogation. If you win, it will be the Ordo Xenos! This will solve everything!
