Desperate Struggle: Separatist Quest

Voting is open
I'm kinda out of the loop here, what's so good about Gorse? I don't switching my vote if it's important for us.
Gorse is the galaxies leading source of Thorilide crystals, which are used as material in the shock absorbers in Capital ship turbolasers. Palps went to great, planet compromising extremes after the clone wars to mine enough to build the imperial navy and arm the death star. Denying thorilide to the republic, and the techno union, will limit there ability to arm there capital ships. Fewer turbolasers on Venerators means less effective battle fleets for the republic.

I personally don't beleive we could really hold it considering it's in the inner rim, aka the heart of Republic territory, but people will vote how they want really.

[X] Occupy Strategic World- Militarily relevant worlds are usually very different from *Dookus* Targets. These will be Fortresses, Production Centers, Vital Resources, and Ship Yards.

Which option do we vote for if we want to go for this? Fortress or strategic world?

Vote both for now, as neither is in the lead right now and are incredibly close in terms of overall votes. Hard to predict which will pull ahead just yet, and unless they both become contenders for first, no harm in supporting them both.

To the various people voting to push the front, might I propose a compromise where we occupy strategic world instead? It would give us our pick of significant targets, and would still be a major battle depending on which we picked. We would even have the option of shipyards or production centers alongside strategic resources like fuel worlds or mining worlds or communication hubs. Either way, it's more impactful than just picking a given region of space and Invading in the hopes it'll encourage lesser commanders to aggressively seize worlds in the area.

It's not 'Hoping' that others will aggressively take worlds, that's the whole plan. we're here to make a breakthrough, so lesser commanders can mop up and make gains basically, which is important during this stage of the war.

Fair.

Frankly all of these are important during this stage of the war, but which is more important to our plans?

What do we want to do next? I genuinely want to get a discussion going regards to what we do next, now that we've had a look at what's likely to be available.

Push the Front(10) >>> ???

Choose a Fortress(7) >>> ???

Occupy Strategic World(6) >>> ???

I'm basically hoping to accomplish a breakthrough so we have a good amount of space between our core worlds versus theirs, go back to get our fortress done with the goodies Grievous might give us for our success, and then perhaps pick a more specific target, barring the need to intervene with the Frontline if the Republic makes their own breakthrough.

Hmm. Has merit, and can be classified as...

Push the Front(10) >>> Choose a Fortress >>> Occupy Strategic World or Eliminate Republic Corporate Holdings
or...
Push the Front(10) >>> Choose a Fortress >>> Protect Corporate Assets
in the event our wartime gains are threatened.

For my part my plan is to start my fortress or at least occupy a strategic world(hopefully but not necessarily Gorse) and secure a hyperlane to deny the republic the ability to reach it easily and ensure our shipments are safe and reinforcements can arrive if we are pressed particularly hard. From there I'd begin a design project or push a front or protect corporate assets if anything particularly important had come into the line of fire.
Choose a Fortress >>> Secure a Profitable Hyperlane >>> Begin a Design Project

or

fair, perhaps we could do Push the front—> Choose Fortress —> (If everything goes well) Design project / (if shit hits the fan) Protect corporate assets

How does this sound? Because while taking a strategic planet and turning it into our fortress might sound fine, I'd prefer it'd be in the backline, so to speak, or out of the way, so it stays safe. I'm hoping to put our production facilities there after all.

It's a very Isolated world by inner rim standards. It's certainly better off than Cato Neimodia in the core.

Except Cato Nemodia means you draw the ire of the largest fleet of Battleships and an insane amount of Missile Frigates. Honestly would rather they ate dispersed across war fronts vs a massive death fleet that stomps everything near Cato to death.

I'd honestly perfer something a bit more strategically placed to be honest. We are planning to be active and a frontline facing world would be better situated to stop republic pushes and serve as a block to further republic advance. We certainly don't want to lose our fortress, but neither should we plan to isolate it deep behind separatist lines. By nature our fortress will be better defended than most.

Also, in counter to the inner rim being republic space, I point at Colla IV, home of droideka production. It's honestly closer to republic strongholds like Coruscant or Carida than Gorse is and harder to isolate by securing a hyperlane or pushing a front, but you might appreciate pre existing droid production. Personally I could see us being forced to defend this at least once before the first year of the war is up, but that's true of most of these worlds. Either way it's my backup option for fortresses if Gorse fails.

Third is Muunilinst or an occupied Christophsis to give us in quest justification to being present to prevent these battles from being lost. Either way, given our picks I'd expect Jedi to come knocking on our Fortress world eventually just by nature of wanted dead and the impact we intend to have on the war.

Otherwise it sounds fine.

Congrats you'll be assigned to a battle zone with the goal of decimating an opening through the local defenses.

If your going to do task votes, you need to divide things into tasks.

[] [Dooku] Hunting For Acolytes- Dooku had a number of force sensitive agents. To achieve ever greater results for liberty, he required more. You would be deployed in support of one to align them with your cause.

[] [Dooku] Securing Sites- Though his machinations are entirely unknown to you. Dooku has been the architect of this entire enterprise for liberty! Supply him with the force of arms to secure sites he deems valuable to the cause.

[] [Dooku] Execute an Ambush- Dooku is aware upon the location of an experimental clone units deployment. He wants you to be the scythe that reaps his tithe...

[] [Greivous] Push the Front- Bluntly put, Greivous has incredibly low standards and expectations for most Coporate Commanders. he wishes to add your skilled taskforce to a front in order to provide the extra push needed to let the numerous names lackies to rush in.

[] [Greivous] Augment a Commander- A particular Commander has been picked out to assign you to by Grievous. He fully believes your presence would dramatically smooth over this Operation.

[] [Greivous] Occupy Strategic World- Militarily relevant worlds are usually very different from *Dookus* Targets. These will be Fortresses, Production Centers, Vital Resources, and Ship Yards.

like the above examples.

0_o but the most voted for option won? So the tally did its job. Confused by the stickler point here. Person who asked for the winning plan in a spoiler post on updates? That I get lol.

I think they thought that we were to choose one out of each section (Dooku, Grevious, Council Senate, Independent) instead of only being allowed to choose one out of all of the options.

... 0_o so does that make line or block plan voting tally method?

[] Terrifying- Having studied Grievous in depth during your wargames. You realized terror was most useful.

@ErraticWizard you can use it to seperate votes into separate individual tallies to keep a vote cleaner. It's mainly used for updates with different voting catagories. I mainly brought it up because I know that's how you tallied this updates votes the first time you posted.

That... if task voting is not what one would use for plan voting. Is it line or block tally that is used?
It can be used for both, depending on circumstances. It works with both methods. A task tally would be used for multiple catagories. Like voting for the gender of a character seperate from the career, without having too big a tally.

So, were starting of strong with pushing the front, certainly not a bad idea for a first assignment. Though what worries me is the likely hood of encountering Jedi, we do have personal combat protocols from what I've read so far, though this still makes me nervous along with the knowledge that were on there personal shit list.

I think it would definitely be a good idea to build a fortress after our(hopefully) victory. Also has anyone thought of who we're goin to be mostly loyal to? I personally think we should try and stick our metallic hands in as many cookie jars as possible, variety is always best imo.

also fun factoid: did you know that the collicoids, bug people who made the tri-fighter droid, actually based the skull and face of the tri-fighter of off a deadly creature native to there home world. To clones and such it's face is alien, but to collicoids, it's the face of death itself.
