Dark Souls: Low Budget Quest [DROPPED]

[X] Trade the Demon Great Machete for a badass weapon and buy like 5 Gold Pine Resin.

You traded a Demon Great Machete for 10 Gold Pine Resin. Because Domhnall didn't have anything but Pine Resins to trade.

Anyways, you tried to break down the bars but couldn't even put a dent on the old things.

Domhnall: "Mighty durable, isn't it? It's like they didn't want people going down there. Or maybe they didn't want anybody coming up here?"

So how could you open it?

Convenient intuition drives you towards another area of the sewers.

All the more eyes to see you with, my pretty.

You encounter a weirdo and his posse of ratmen.

They were quickly demolished.

DARK SOULS LOW BUDGET QUEST

You moved down onto a lower-level. It was quite wide.

Then it appeared.

Oscar: "DRAGON?!?!?"

Laurentius: "By the Flames!!!"

What is your strategy with dealing with this beast?

Don't forget to give directions to Oscar and Laurentius!

[X] Write-In - What do?

[X]Circle it. Pine Resin up and keep moving around it baiting Charges into the walls. Take our it's tail to cut down on it range. Oscar shoot it with lightning. Laurentius hang behind me and use fire balls when i move in.

A Wandering Soul: "Meanwhile... on the non-taken path towards the Parish..."

A knight stood on a wide balcony. His name? For now, let us call him the 'Sunny Fellow'.

He stood there, gazing at the gloriously incandescent sun.

Gazing...

Gazing...

Gazing...

Once he had his fill of sunlight, the knight decided that it was time for him to continue onto his magnificent quest for his own sun!

He casually walked onto the bridge that would lead towards the Undead Parish. It was then that he heard the sounds of beating wings. So loud it was, that it must have come from a large beast. He turned around just in time to see a red-dragon flying low, mouth wide-open, just moments before it set the entire bridge ablaze with roaring fire!

But the knight balked at such flames.

Sunny Fellow: "Is tis heat to be hot? I shalt not sweat for anything less than a midsummer's day!"

The knight punched a hand into the air, as if to grasp the very sun itself.

Sunny Fellow: "Scaly Beast, thy fire cannot even compare to that of the Majestic Sun!"

A long lance formed in his hand, as if he had caught the surging sunlight itself.

Sunny Fellow: "PRAISE THE SUN!!!"

[X] Oscar and chosen undead split up get it's attention ( by stabing it) and use the pine riesn while Laurentius Burns it alive Going for the guts ( when the mouth is up) When/if the pryomancy runs out. the three take turns attacking and ruining from it. with the Chosen undead taking the most risk ( your be fine youll come back) if all else fails the undead will jump on its back and ride it down the cliff while staping it in the face.

So after a week, I see that there's still only 1 Vote.
I suppose that means we're letting the dice decide your fate.

The Party gets +1 for every two members in the group.

The Chosen Undead rolls a 1d20, if they roll a 1~4 then they die. 11+1 = 12
Oscar rolls a 1d10, if he rolls a 1~2 then he dies. 2+1 = 3
Laurentius rolls a 1d10, if he rolls a 1~2 then he dies. 6+1 = 7
12+3+7 = 22

The Boss rolls a 1dX ((the X is total to the Party's Roll) In this case a 1d40). Barring a tie, if the Boss rolls a score higher than the Party then a member dies and if the Boss rolls its maximum then another member also dies.

Gaping Dragon rolls a 1d40. 33

33 > 22

Chosen Undead = 1, Oscar = 2, Laurentius = 3.
Rolling a 1d3 for Death... Oscar.

Welp. :V

But there were three votes.

And that roll system is fucked yo. All our guys clear their roll and clear then he gets another. That's whack.

I meant 1 Votes in every plan.

[1] Jump in its mouth, then stab it in the brain.

No decisive planning, so Chosen Undead, Oscar, and Laurentius simply do what they think is best... hence DICE.

The Party rolls well enough not to die stupidly... but the Boss rolls more than enough to pull off an aggressive and unexpected 'SURPRISE MOTHERFUCKER' bullshit that Dark Souls is fond of. If Solaire and Lautrec were on the team, the Gaping Dragon would have gotten wrecked.

Can I switch votes?

-[X] Indecisive. Inconclusive.

You needed a plan and you needed one quick.

Jump into the mouth and stab the brain? Impossible. The gaping chest-mouth was not immediately connected to the head, you wouldn't be able to reach the brain by trying to go through its jaws of death.

Use the Gold Pine Resin and try to take out the tail, while Oscar and Laurentius attacked from afar? Or perhaps splitting-up with yourself and Oscar as the distractions and Laurentius as the main-attacker? Which was the better plan? Which would have the highest chance of victory and survival?

You were thinking for no more than two-seconds but that was more than enough time for the Gaping Dragon to act.

The giant-creature bent forward, maw to the ground, as it regurgitated a foul darkish yellow-green ooze that rapidly spread-out and flooded the floor.

Your group beat a quick-retreat, not chancing to know what the ooze would do.

But the dragon continued from its downed-position. It charged towards you, limbs thundering as the ooze was randomly splashed all over the wide-area. One such goop was flung your way, forcing the three of you to scatter in avoidance.

Your back hit the brick-wall but the dragon ignored you, aiming for the twice-more morsels that were Oscar and Laurentius.

By sheer luck, your two comrades were able to dodge just past the dragon's head butting into the wall. But now the beast separated your two groups between its massive body. The two were now on their own.

DARK SOULS LOW BUDGET QUEST

Oscar and Laurentius rolled out of the dragon's path, the room shuddered and rumbled as the beast's head collided with the wall, but there was no time to waste as they had driven themselves into a corner. The men picked themselves quickly and ran as fast as they could, far more fearful of being caught than having their feet landing into the random puddles of ooze.

Laurentius yelped in surprise, his cloths on his feet quickly corroding; Oscar's armor fared better, yet how much his armor would last he did not know; but now they knew what the ooze did.

As they reached the creature's back-legs, it suddenly jumped high and turned around. They pushed their legs as hard as they could but Oscar's armor had slowed him down, the impact of the dragon's landing sent the knight off-balance as the bricked-flooring had erupted into pieces. The Gaping Dragon snatched Oscar off the ground, rubble and all, and threw him into its chest-mouth.

Being torn to pieces and digested was an excruciatingly painful way of dying.

It was the last meal the gluttonous dragon would ever have.

It was soon slain by the Chosen Undead and Laurentius who had been spurred-on by the death of Oscar.

DARK SOULS LOW BUDGET QUEST

You got Soul Of Gaping Dragon!

You got Dragon King Greataxe!

DARK SOULS LOW BUDGET QUEST

The Chosen Undead tore into the carcass of the Gaping Dragon and retrieved the Key to Blighttown. Sturdy, indeed, to have survived intact within the belly of the beast for who knows how long... But Oscar's remains were in a far worst state after being pulled out.

The[fact]that Oscar'sObodyFwasEstillRhereHmeantUthatMheAheldNnoIHumanityTleftY. He would not be reborn at a Bonfire. The man had died.

In his kindness, Laurentius performed an impromptu fire-funeral for Oscar.

.....

You opened the gates to Blighttown. A single ladder leading down into the deep and dark gullet which reminded of the Gaping Dragon. Once you go down, there was no going back up until the Bell Of Awakening is rung. Mind, there wasn't much left to do here either.

[ ] Trade - Domhnall have anything new?
[ ] Take - Oscar won't be needing his stuff anymore... Well, at least his sword and shield can be fixed.
[ ] Descend - Into Blighttown.
[ ] Write-In - What do?

Is this not traumatic enough!
We dodged the dragon's charge by what may have been a hair's breath. Rolling and stumbling to stand-up as the walls and floors shook from the dragon's immense collision.

"That way!" I shouted to Laurentius, running to escape the corner that we were in.

The putrid bile of the dragon was everywhere, a stench so sickeningly sour, but there was no time for either of us to heave our own stomachs. We pushed our legs to further the distance, running parallel to the dragon's lengthy size. Long enough that it felt endless. But we moved straightforward, unwilling to slow-down, thus our feet would land upon the acidic puddles that slowly ate away at our legs.

Though I had run first, breath ragged, Laurentius was ahead of me.

No doubt, my armor was heavily weighing me down. Its defenses helped against the drakes that plagued Astora. But against a dragon of this size and strength? I might as well have been as nude as babe.

Perhaps that would have even better, for I might have made it out...

It was unbelievable but something I should have expected. The huge dragon further proved its agility as lept into the air and turned around just as quickly. It landed and the ground was cracked open on impact. The bricks beneath my feet broke apart as if an earthquake was occurring. I could do little more than fall to my back, while Laurentius was blown away.

If only I had such luck as well...

The dragon scooped me up, rubble and all, bringing me closer to its mouth.

The chest of the dragon was split open, numerous ribs grotesquely spread apart like some mockery of a splintered mouth, bile coated and dropping from the false-teeth, and a wretchedly foul stench coming from its bowls. The details grew clearer with every closing moment.

I struggled with everything I had, trying to pry myself free, but it was futile against the might of the dragon.

I dared hope for a miracle, even just a distraction, to occur; for someone to save me.

But Laurentius had barely pulled himself together, the flames only just gathering in the palms of his hands.

My other companion, I did not know where, but perhaps they were doing something as crazy as climbing the dragon itself? I would not put I past them... My friend, I hope you will continue my quest for me. Ring the bells, so no more Undead need journey through suffering as we are now.

The last sound I heard was a loud crunch.

.....

Everything is burning.

The body. The mind. The soul.

Why is there pain even in death?

WHAT IS HAPPENING?!?

WHY ME!?!

==========

And thus Oscar breaks in a different way and turns into a psychopath!

No, I kid. Revival isn't painful, though it does make you feel emptier.

This is a very forgiving Dark Souls quest. Assuming you know what to do. :V
