The remnant energies that lay dormant in these perverted halls of Justice begin to move towards you, motes of unseen light that clung to the declining surroundings danced with life long thought passed and it coalesced within you, your very being drinking it all in and you feel yourself grow, becoming fuller as your claim your first domain and you become Justice.
Your senses explode as newfound power floods your very being, you grow blind and deaf to your surroundings and you begin to know.
Knowledge you never knew makes itself familiar to you, your mind begins to ache as it becomes packed with information, like a container being filled beyond its capacity! The world pulsed, an officer, near dead-asleep at their desk, jumped as they felt something push past them, eyes wildly looking around as dirt crumbles from the ceiling.
Bottles of glass and windows rattle, as this pulse is sent outwards, almost going through the whole building. All of it went unnoticed by its occupants, all waving off the odd occurrence, thinking of mundane reasons and grumbling about how technology hasn't found a way to make trucks lighter.
The world comes rushing back to you as you acclimatize to your new powers, what you once had a small cup of water, now feels like a large bucket. It wasn't much of a power boost all things considered but it was still a significant increase, you feel like you could do much more now.
Maybe you should try putting these new powers to practice? You have claimed Justice as your domain, but how would you go and represent it?
Before you could ponder on this matter further, you sense something in the distance. A muffled cry, a sharp spike of fear and then it was gone. Without thinking, you move towards it and the world twists around you until you find yourself merely a street away from the NCPD building, standing in a secluded corner away from sight and before you lay a dead woman. Her body was sprawled on the ground, eyes wide and empty, blankly staring into the blue sky, traces of fear still etched into her face. Her belongings strewn all over, her bag torn open with its remaining contents still inside.
Her murderer? Gone. In the short time it took you to arrive, her killer had plenty of time to take what he needed and left, out of your reach but won't be for long. You reach out and focus your power and will it outwards into the world to surround the alley, imbuing the environment with your godly abilities and the world within this alley begins to move in reverse, the clouds roll backwards across the sky as the sun moves in the opposite direction. Smoke materializes from the air and sucks itself into running air conditioners, a rat hops backwards out of a trashcan and into a box.
It starts slow at first but the reversal begins to pick up speed. A man hurriedly walked back in from the otherside of the alley, hands in his pockets, occasionally glancing back. He turns and pulls out a wad of Eurodollars from his pocket, running his thumb along the edge and and the bag flies back into his grip, the money goes back inside as does the discarded belongings.
He stands before her body, breathing heavily, clutching his bloodied knife in hand, he mumbles something. The woman starts to twitch, weakly at first then it grows stronger, she falls in reverse, moving back up to her feet, you watch her clutch her wound, blood receding back into her body and stumbling towards the man, to clutch at her bag, as a bloodied knife re-entered her body and pulled out, clean of blood. You stop your power and have the scene play itself before you.
"Someone help!" The woman cries, trying to yank her bag out from the man's fingers, her fearful gaze going back and forth between her mugger and the entrance to the alley, hoping that someone would come and help her.
"Just give it, lady!" Her assaulter growled, her surprising strength keeping him from making off with his bounty, "And shut it or else!"
"Someone please!" Her cry cuts out as she lets out as a knife buries itself into her side. The tight grip around her bag loosened as her eyes bulged. Her bag is pulled from her fingers as she stumbles back, hands clutching the bleeding wound.
She stared at the man and slowly fell to the ground, her body twitching in her death throes as her life came to an end and soon, she went still, her eyes still wide and staring at her murderer who stood above her. The man left panting with a bloodied knife in hand as it shook. The shock was apparent on his face.
"Fucking bitch. Told you to stay the fuck quiet." He mumbled, his voice trembling as the knuckles on his knife wielding hand whitened, the grip audibly creaking as he beheld what he had done. "Didn't want to do this.. Not my fault…Bitch just had to scream…"
With panting breaths, he gives the dead body a good kick, just to make sure she was dead and upon seeing no reaction, he puts his knife away and gets down on his knees to start rummaging through her pockets. "C'mon… C'mon, a well dressed girl like you's gotta have something good for a few eddies…"
The scene fades away and your power flows back into you. The scene that played out offended you. The gall, the audacity of this… low life to commit a crime so close to a, if crumbling, place of Justice! The woman's dead eyes gaze blankly into the air but your godly senses find it to be accusing, almost asking the heavens 'Why?' and you felt a pang of sorrow and guilt for not being able to stop this Injustice. Your gaze turns back to the offender and it seems that you have found the perfect way to test your new powers. What better way for Justice to be exercised than to turn your gaze towards the Guilty?
You call on your power and begin to enact Justice.
How shall you exercise your new abilities?
[ ] You see the woman's accusing gaze, use it against her murderer.
[ ] Her screams were the last thing you heard, make it the only thing he hears.
[ ] Stain his hands with his sin, a reminder of his crime that will never fade away.
[ ] Curse him with the stench of murder so all will know of his crime.
[ ] This violation of Justice has occurred right under your nose. Go after him. Personally.
