I definitely think we should ask both the Meteor and the Spiders about the World-Swallowing Tree. After all, according the the Meteor, the Tree is the ultimate source of ninjutsju. It should therefore be easier to definitively confirm its existence than the Meteor's personal story, especially since at least part of that will be including space travel and the Summons are firmly confined to the planet. It's more reasonable to ask them to confirm the Meteor's words about the Tree.

A thought: would the Hoshikage look at the World Swallowing Tree as a strawman for why Meteor Training should be reinstated, even if the former is as dangerous as we, the audience, know?

Alright, brief life update. Good news, new job with better pay and ideally less nightmarish management. Bummer news, they're a lot more stringent about how time is spent while on the clock. That means I'm gonna have less time in the day to hack at updates and be present in the thread, so you might see some slowdown. I'll keep the pace as best as life allows, but that's just gonna have to be a factor moving forward.

    • So, it looks like we'll be asking the Meteor more about the Tree, it's connection to the Trained, and how to treat the Sickness. Meanwhile, we're checking with the Spiders about the Tree to see if they think the Meteor is telling any lies.

    All in all, I'd say this is perfect! The questions we're asking are all either stuff that can be verified or are potentially useful to our goals, so I have no complaints.
     
    Just caught up with the quest, loving it.

    Anyway… I like Hisako Daigo for the squirrel contract, she gives me the kind of eccentric vibes for it. Also just want to social her in general, she's one of the more interesting characters, up that social link.

    Asano seem about right for the Herons, and his clan already have experience with nin-birds so it's thematically appropriate.

    I really doubt Tomoe and the meteor guard are appropriate summoners. I'm sure the needs of the summons would conflict with the needs of the meteor.
     
    I'm fine if people really want to not have Endo be a summoner, but we'll need to either talk to Mori or Daigo either during the yearly meeting or the next proper turn. One of the reasons I've been talking about Endo so much is because our only other potential contractor is Asano, and I think we can agree that Mori and/or Daigo are more likely to use a Summon Contract as it's generally intended to be used.
     
    Bah, I have opinions on how summon contracts are 'meant' to be used. However the more hoshi has the better.
     
    Kind of against Endo as she specializes in Peacock style and nothing else. If i am understanding it correctly she is also working on new tech that can replace normal jutsus.
    Summoning for her would not be that useful for her, nor for her goals.

    The Jounin comander is an option if we are looking for candidates, or he might know someone in the village with the time to search all the trees in the forest.
