Creation & Revelation - Fantasy Worldbuilding and God RP Game - OoC & Sign-Up

Hm.. For the Wind Wandering Courier God, should he bring nightmares and dreams, setting the basis for an imagination-type world, or journey with souls to their afterlife place? Grim Reaper meets Hermes meets the Sandman, I suppose.

...

On the other hand, nobodys done a Prometheus or Muse type character yet..
If you want to continue with the Divineborn = amoral or immoral scheme probably nightmares and dreams, if you want to be more compassionate go the Hermes route

Kalthazar, the Trickster
Name: - Kalthazar, The Trickster
Origin: - Divineborn
Domain:
- Hope, Cunning, Deception, Philosophy, Thieves
Symbol: -
Appearance: - Cloaked in shadow just always in the corner of your eye. Their eyes are always beneath their cowl but their face is always in a smirk. They are said to inspire all to reach the pinnacle of civilization, but despite that insipiration is fleeting. Dressed almost as like a thief, but one that does not steal from man, but from the gods.
Backstory: - It was the last moments of Serenity's that an oddity came out. Perhaps they were too consumed with their own demise, with their own progression. Now that Serenity's own time was nigh they felt something odd. Compassion for their lesser creations. They were proud of their own children but it knew them. The all-mother's last child, the one to ensure the lesser children had just as much chance to succeed as her greater ones.

*Disgruntled rattling of chains*

That's the point. We're all either focused on mortals as 'our little playthings', are ambivalent to them, or are so alien that we can't really comprehend them.
...huh. You think that perhaps Serenity had a sort of all-encompassing compassion that is just a hair beyond the rest of us? Or perhaps we just grew colder with her death.

Serenity never loved the mortals. It was all an experiment, watching the bacteria in the test-tube with the cold detachment of a scientist.

Perhaps her disdain for existence infected us all? We aren't suicidal or genocidal, at least, most of us aren't, but that doesn't mean we aren't permanently afflicted with some form of minor sociopathy or lack of empathy.

And most of us are made of specific bits of herself that she separated and incarnated. We wouldn't have any compassion she might've had anyway.

Alright, having discussed it with Rocketeer, we'll be starting up the Creation game tomorrow!

The Creation game won't involve any real roleplaying - it's mostly going to consist of you describing the additions and changes you make - but you'll be free to try and weight the scales in your deity's favour. ;)

Will us mortal born do anything at this time?

Welp, that's the hope domain gone. How's that fit in with the others though..? Looks like I'm going with the Wind Wanderer--Aha! They bring--Fuck it!

Alright.. I'll be doing a few.. Test Concepts, so to speak, but here's the first one.

Name: - Aiode the Eternal Errant
Origin: - Mortalborn
Domain:
- Creativity, Passion, Inspiration, Ideas, Imagination, Artists, Writers, Inventions, the Wind, Travellers, Vagabonds
Symbol: - (Working On It)
Appearance: - Despite their shapeshifting ways, Aiode is most commonly associated with that of a masked and cloaked spirit, sometimes said to be seen travelling the world, inspiring others with ideas and igniting passion as they came and went with the wind.
Backstory: - In the beginning, there was nothing for mortals to do but to try and survive. What else could they do, besides search for food, for water, and for shelter? It was a dreary existance, and once civilization and society became steady enough to not have to worry about simply survival, they hit an end. It was stale, static, unchanging and unadvancing. But then one had an idea. They crushed the insides of bugs with herbs and flowers, and splattered it across the wall of a cave. Art.

Another thought they saw a bear three times the size of a normal one just beyond the village borders, and eventually, word spread around, and the ber had grown spikes, the ability to shoot thunder from it's eyes, and roar so loudly that the very earth shook in fear. In another village, a parent told their children about another child who didn't listen, and was taken away by the monster beneath the bed. Stories.

In a land just over the sea, a man wanted another man's food, but they were stronger, tougher. The jealous man wracked his mind for a way, any way, that he could take the food. He became angry that he was so weak, and smashed an animals bone over a rock, shattering the end. He poked curiously at the tip before drawing back in surprise. It had drawn blood. Before long, the man ruled over the area with his all-powerful weapon. Inventions.

Eventually, the mortals began wondering just where these thoughts came from, and why they never seemed to stay for long. A persona began to form in their minds, of a lonely traveller walking the earth, inspiring others with ideas before leaving just as quickly as they came. Nobody could control when, or how, or at what times the traveller would come, whether it be just before they slept, as they washed themselves, as they worked, or when defecating.

It became tradition for those who wanted the Traveller to visit them to leave out offerings of food and drink, or even linens and other items from the fortunate. In time, some began wondering if the weary vagabonds and travellers who passed by were the Bringer of Ideas, and gave hospitality in hopes that they would be granted a boon. Travellers, in turn, brought ideas, creations, and stories across the lands and seas, spreading them far and wide.

Some tried to quash ideas they didn't like, opress those who tried spreading them. It never worked. Tell somebody to not speak of something, and they did everything but that. Men could be killed, ideas could not. Forgotten, sometimes, but soon the idea would be back in another form.

And so birthed, from the minds of mortals, was Aiode, Eternal Errant.

I've been considering others like this, a God of purely Dreams and Wanderers, or a Grim Reaper type who simply takes souls to their afterlife, or even a Divineborn version, that was born not by mortal minds, but when Serentiy decided to create the universe. What do you guys think would be best? Mortal and born from mortal mind, or Divine, and born from Serenity's idea to create?

...I think I went overboard on the whole Backstory thing. Pretty sure stuff like this isn't even allowed, going this far about world building. :V Couldn't help it.

The idea was bothering me until I wrote it down.

Very nice! Personally I like the idea of a deity of Dreams and Wanderers - you wanted to make a fantasy Australia, and "Dreams and Wanderers" evokes Australian Aboriginal mythology and culture to me. Maybe something like a god of liminal things? In-between states like dreaming, madness, inspiration - not your origin or destination, but the journey between them?

That sounds interesting! Less the idea that you get, and more the journey that brought it to them.. I like it! Though I believe I'll have to decide an Origin first :V Divineborn, a side product of Serenity's creation of the world, or Mortalborn, made from the collective minds of mortals?

If you're still interested in making a fantasy Australia, Divineborn would be better. Due to their bonus Divineborn gods have more control over what type of turn is chosen in the Creation game, and would have an easier time amassing Influence so they can outbid everyone else for creative control and make big changes that can't be undone.

Do you mind if I post what I did for a previous God RP on Constantia (Fantasy Australia)?

It's fairly fleshed out, I assure you :V

Do you mean post it here, or post it in the Creation game? I guess either's fine, but in the cast of the Creation game the people making big changes are advised to leave the details to later players in that round, so fleshing it all out might not be the best option. :p

Ah, no, here, just so I can convey the general idea of what I wanted to make :V Won't happen anyways, I like having the Determination or Monster domains for it, and I'm getting excited by the wandering dream god.

Copying and pasting straight from the old thread, so excuse the mess and notes.
Gigantic dunes of sand and immeasurable mountains lay barren of greenery, instead only withering forests of thorns and roses grow in patches like a rash, choking any other flora or fauna of life. Sandstorms and tornadoes frequent, and as such, any life that had developed in this cruel island has forced themselves to evolve. To adapt.

Enormous worms that tunnel beneath the sea of sand, horned beasts with claws that could rip through steel, silent predators of bony chitin and venomous blood, all these and more lie deep within the fungus filled caverns and dunes of the land. This harsh kingdom of ruin harbors only those who would dare rise against the natural order in defiance. Like a pillar of endurance, the mountains, wildlife, and civilization still survive their days on Constantia.

Abandoned upon the boiling dunes soaked with blood are collapsing ruins and crumbling cities, eroded by unwavering time and fierce battles. In the center of this hellish kingdom lies a mountain, more of a Volcano actually. The closer one travels here, the more rusted weaponry and sandy bones are found buried in the sands. Atop his throne of trophies, sits Abaddon, God of Defiance.
Called Karpan for short, these fish occupy the shallow seas around the island and the rivers within.

*Dragons Gate Project

All the world will be your enemy, Prince of a Thousand enemies.
And when they catch you, they will kill you.
But first they must catch you; digger, listener, runner, Prince with the swift warning.
Be cunning, and full of tricks, and your people will never be destroyed.

The main food source for every carnivorous and omnivorous species on the island, somehow these conniving little shits are still one of the highest numbered animals on Constantia.

(Give the race a cunning power at a later turn.)

Honey Badger don't care. Honey Badger don't give a shit, it eats whatever the fuck they want. It just takes it.

Feeding upon Nibblers and other small animals and insects, it's current natural predator is the Honey Badger.

Omnivores, primarily on carcasses, insects, and other small animals.

Dwarfed only by the massive Cazadors -which really shouldn't be counted in the same category- these huge bugs are the primary reason the other bugs don't usually swarm up and devour everything on Constantia. Feeding upon Blattodea, the Weta are in turn preyed upon by Chalcosoma, who's shell is unable to be pierced by their mandibles.

The toughest of the 3 bug species on Constantia, they keep the

Despite being a snack for most all of Constantia, these tiny omnivores -if allowed to grow in population- will swarm and devour anything and everything in their path. They feed on the branches of thorns, but are not averse to flesh. Usually their size ranges from a coin to a human thumb.

Hunting in hives/swarms, Cazadors feast on blood and rotting flesh. Usually as large as a small bird. Usually.
Thorn Forests:
-Citrus Fruits: Lemons, Limes, Grapefruits, Oranges, etc.
-Berry Bushes
-Fungus
-Cacti
Amalgamation of the Wild West, Mythological Greece/Sparta, New Vegas/Mojave Wasteland, Jurassic Park, Australia, Arrakis, Tattooine, TTGL-World-
You know what? Fuck it. It's Death World - TV Tropes. It's that plus Up to Eleven - TV Tropes.
Trust me, further along, there was a lot more than what I'm posting here. For one, those fish could turn into Serpents..

In a class of their own, a Deathclaws size varies with age. One of the oldest living Deathclaws, Kahn, was around 15 feet, though he assured that he was tiny for his age of multiple centuries. Whether he willed himself to live that long, or if Deathclaws naturally have a large lifespan is unknown. As carnivores, they feed upon larger prey like Dune Worms and Ramadons, though won't say no to a smaller snack or two.

A rhinocerus-like beast that travels in herds.

Named after the shifts and changes of land above their movement, Dune Shifter are a nocturnal and subterranian species that feeds upon burrowing animals as they sleep. Fast, agile, and utterly ruthless, their jaws can crush steel and grind stones to dust.

In the skies fly the Furies, leathery monsters that swoop down and snatch prey with their barbed tentacles and spiked limbs. Younger furies are born without hair or spiked claws, relying on their tentacles and mobility. After an unknown amount of time, the Furies hibernate for the length of winter, gradually transforming into what the natives call a "Greater Fury", as opposed to the "Lesser Fury".

Some believe Furies to be a relative of the Dune Shifter.

I'm not actually going to make it here, but thought I would post it to give others ideas or something.

To be honest, it got.. Really dangerous. There were AoT Titans, Xenomorphs, Headcraps, Symbiotes.. Egh, nasty stuff.
