Creation & Revelation - Fantasy Worldbuilding and God RP Game - OoC & Sign-Up

@Krall How do we kill demigods? Miracles?

Heck how do we make demigods? Can I just say Tyrant has decided to grant the gift and privilege of bearing his children to some random mortals every turn for an unlimited stream of demigods of dubious loyalty?

They're not completely deathless, but they are superhuman. You could kill one quickly with a big enough Miracle, or you could try something cheaper but riskier. Sending an army of mortals after them might work. Emphasis on the "might".

As for how you make demigods, the traditional method of baby-making works, but really it's up to you how it comes to be - immaculate conception is an option too, as is mixing your blood with that of a mortal in a cup then pouring it onto the ground and digging up a baby from under that spot. It does always cost 4 MP each time though, so creating endless hordes of them might not be the best use of your powers.

What do we do if we have overlapping domains? @Krall

It's not really an issue in the game - just means the same sort of things are "in-domain" for both of you.

My sheet basically paints a huge 'KILL IT WITH FIRE! OH CRAP, IT'S EATING THE FIRE! RUUUUUUN!' target on my back, so I feel your pain.
To add to it, even out evil goals are likely incompatible. You wanna devour the world or something, I want to turn it into my own personal hellscape playground...incompatible.

So we can't even have an evil team-up. :V

That reminds me even more of when I played Pthan, in a previous version of this game. For some reason no one wanted anything to do with the formless being of pure greed, apart from the other two evil gods of course. I don't know what they were planning but I was definitely planning on backstabbing them after our vile covenant had outlived its worth.

My suggestions on how to avoid immediate and merciless destruction as a clearly evil god are to lie constantly about everything, and to use your lack of inhibitions to your advantage. Pthan got a big boost out of sacrificing several hundred people when no other gods could bring them to mandate such a thing from their followers. ;)

Lol, losers, learn2pagan noobs. Blood Sacrifice is where it's at.

I wonder how all our gods would look like as a pantheon right now? We have some evil gods and some....uh neutral gods? I think we might have one good god but I'm not sure.

I'm working on making the second post in the thread into a list of everyone in our pantheon, so that should give a clear picture when its done.

I PREFER THE RITUAL THAT OPENS A PORTAL TO MY BODY SO I CAN DEVOUR THEM IN PERSON, MYSELF.
That is a sacrifice, silly billy.

@Krall Do we have enough people to start (~9 players as of the writing of this post), or do you want to wait for a certain period of time?

A Conduit may be created/designated at the cost of 4 MP, and costs 1 MP to sustain on subsequent turns (save for Demigods).
Ah, I interpreted that "save for demigods" to include the creation cost as well, not just the upkeep. :p

Protection god is pretty solidly goodish I believe. As is the Tyrant of course, good being defined as what is pleasing to Tyrant.

Speaking of Tyrant do you want to twine our god's stories during Creation at least? I figure that Tyrant could have helped bind Arda Nova, at least until Serenity dies.

Can I eat the parts of you that think things other than the whole of Creation being devoured are pleasing?

All of the chains! Bwahahaha! (That's a yes)

No eating my brain-parts! Bad nameless horror thingy, bad! *sprays with water-bottle* :V

Possibly - I wasn't expecting things to start this quickly! I don't want to leave out those who have expressed interest but haven't signed up yet, but if they do sign-up during a turn they can still take part in that turn.

Ah, no, sorry. Demigods' power comes from their own innate divinity, so they don't cost you upkeep, but you still need to spend some power to make them in the first place.

Mehta, the Bereaved
Name: Mehta
Origin: Mortalborn
Domain: Loss, death, grief, compassion, wisdom
Symbol: An eye with a teardrop
Appearance: A grieving woman; sometimes young, sometimes old, eyes red-rimmed with weeping, hair unbound in grief whether in the raiment of queens or the rags of a beggar.
Backstory: Mehta is the embodiment of loss, particularly through death. She is a paradox - an immortal being born of that which is the quintessence of mortality. She is the representative of those who are bereft, diminished by that which is no longer, and the sorrow of knowing that even memory at last must die with the deaths of those who remember. As such, she seeks to comfort her followers, for with the passing of Serenity all must eventually face their end.

Zehir, the Arid Expanse
Name: Zehir
Origin: Divineborn
Domain: Deserts, the desert sun, dryness, sand, desert-of-the-mind
Symbol:

Ner silver, rena blue; canta nastar alta tera, raven feather with grey highlights; canta nastar nica, curled olive branch; indil woven with stems of feathers, circular olivine braid.
Appearance: Zehir favours the form of a gigantic bird-of-prey, a Rukk of massive proportions coloured liked the deserts.
Backstory: Zehir was born from those parts of Serenity that were left parched and barren, with a simple objective: "till everything is desert". Patient like a rock, Zehir cares for the deserts and slowly expands them, one grain at a time, till all are be one.

I'd recommend giving it at least 24 hours, if only to give people who are currently asleep a chance to sign up.

Cannot resist peanut gallerying here, but I'll note it's explicitly very possibly for gods to die (and how), so like, this passage seems a bit odd.

God Games tend to be pretty popular, given at least a modicum of writing ability on the part of whoever processes stuff.

And world-building does tend to take a while, which is why I want to get started.

That said, I was assuming that of course we'd still allow signups after game starts up to the cap, and even after several turns and possibly even into Revelation, (Serenity making new gods, new Mortalborn popping up from the ether, etc.) but it may be my assumption that is incorrect. Allowing new players in through the course of the game can be good for game health, but also disruptive to game balance as they disrupt power dynamics, so it's sometimes a tough decision to make.

Seriously considering adding imprisonment/slavery to my domains, just because it seems appropriate. In fact, doing so now.

Oh for fucks sake--No more domains for me I guess :V

Curse you--Coyote, Nox!

Messia, Foster-Mother
Name: Messia
Origin: - Mortalborn
Domain: - The Harvest, Childbirth, Mothers, Spring
Symbol: - A cornucopia
Appearance: - A plump middle-aged woman in peasant clothes with brown hair
Backstory: - Born as a mortal woman, Messia had always been talented in caring for things. Her touch seemed almost magical, bringing dying plants back to life and completing the most difficult of childbirths saving both mother and child. She traveled the land until she died, saving all that she could from starvation and suffering. When she died the lowliest of peasants and the highest of kings attended her funeral, for many owed her their lives. The mortals' cries of grief moved Serenity's heart and she made Messia a god, giving her domain over that which she excelled in life. Now that Serenity is gone, and the old rules are collapsing, Messia hopes to protect the mortals from the plots of the other gods saving them in death as she did in life.

Would it be improved by adding it? Is 'Freedom' a concept that your god fundamentally embodies?
Chaos and Freedom seem to share some conceptual links, but I'm having difficulty getting a handle on whether Arda is that sort of chaos (there are all sorts and types of chaos gods!) honestly. Personally I'm not sure if Freedom fits, but it's not my god, so yeah.

I've always enjoyed time-gods in a setting/game, and they tend to be rarish. Or have you considered luck/fate, oceans/seas or the weather?
