    • While you have never needed it yourself, as you were too emotionally stagnant, you are very familiar with the concept of 'comfort food'. Klein explained it to you back when you were too young to be told what Mother was actually drinking. So the first thing that occurs to you is to take Niko to the food stalls below and get her some comfort food.

    You tap her on the shoulder, and she jerks. "W-wah!"

    "I apologize, but would you like to get some food from the food stalls? It would make you feel better."

    "O-oh, sure." Niko smiles. "I'd like that."

    "Excellent." Niko stands up and the two of you exit the room. Rubiana gives you another strange look when you leave. "So is there anything you would like to get?"

    "Ooh, are there pancakes?" Niko smiles. "They're my favorite!"

    "We'll see what we can find." You smile. It is nice to see your friend smiling again.

    The food court is rather empty. Which makes sense, most of the people are likely watching the second round of fights. Still, it lets you find a stall that serves crepes rather quickly.

    When you point it out to Niko, though, you learn something horrible.

    "You've… never had crepes before?"

    Niko shakes her head. "Nope. When I was growing up, we didn't have enough spare money to go to a restaurant that made them, and Mom never had the chance to learn the recipe."

    You frown. "This is unacceptable." You walk up to the crepe stall and put some lien on the counter. "Two crepes, please."

    The woman running the stall nods. "And what do you want on them?"

    "I shall have lemon curd and powdered sugar." You turn to Niko. "Does anything stand out to you?"

    Niko shrugs. "I don't know… strawberry jam, butter, and powdered sugar, I guess?"

    The stall runner smiles. "Alright then! You take a seat, I'll have them right out for you."

    The two of you find a table near the stall and sit across from each other. Now might be a good idea to just talk while you're waiting for the crepes to be done…

    So, uh... due to tech problems I might or might not be a bit late with the next chapter. I am not a tech person, though, so I can't say for sure if there's even a problem, and if there is, how long it will take to fix. Sorry in advance.

    Edit: figured things out. Now maybe I can get some sleep... and if I sleep for too long, the chapter will still be late. Gah.

    Guess what? WE HAVE A TIE!

    I want to please people as much as possible, though, so either someone who either hasn't voted at all, hasn't voted for either choice, or has voted for both has to decide which option to go for or someone who voted for one option has to rescind their vote. If the tie isn't broken in fifteen minutes, I'm going to have my brother break the tie without context.

    Sorry, all. I'm just not feeling up to completing the chapter today. I'm sorry for being late so often, I wish I could be more productive, but sometimes I just stop being able to make progress, and it sucks. I hope you all understand. It should be completed by tomorrow.

    Happens to the best of us, don't burn yourself out, imo. Sometimes your brain doesn't write if you push too hard. Hope you get good rest!
