Come for the Raifus, Stay for the Plot: Girls' Frontline - Baking Time

I'd highly recommend switching to a 3HG/2RF team. A SMG for a tank is fine until you get a HG to level 80 though, because they make kind of bad tanks until they can equip exoskeletons. As is your rifles aren't getting nearly enough buffs from just PPK.
I feel like 3RF 2HG work better though.

I have an AR-SMG team, it's this merry lot (one rank forward because 4-3E grinding)

(M16A1 as off-tank because she can equip armour and sue me I didn't want to break up Anti-Rain)
...Only of course everyone there is 4* and only UMP has any dupes so they're all coregrind hell

The AR/MG team isn't exclusively AR/MG, to be clear, it's this:
My best budget ARs/SMGs and M2HB who I get dupes of from time to time via the 4-3E grind

Messing around with 2RF/3HG setups as mentioned...

In practical terms Welrod can't main tank right now as she's only level 29 (PPK is 56 by comparison), so they're swapped around. They need some grinding up though as Wa in particular I've only gotten recently and I'm still building her up.
SV-98 and Springfield as the two RFs on the other team meanwhile are because A) they both have all the dupes they need to x4/5 and B) Springfield has her ammo now. Back to 2HG1SMG because again, few HGs and Spectre is currently my best dodgetank until the UMPs are on her level.

Yeah HGs don't really get to main tank effectively for quite a long while. Welrod will end up the better MT than ppk I believe since she gets a base 69 evasion at level 75, and at 80 she can equip exoskeletons for another +20 evasion. (I unfortunately don't have any 5* mt exoskeletons). Your base AR/SMG team looks fine. M16 doesn't get to utilize her gimmick yet but she can still equip exoskeletons for more dodge until they add armor to the game. Generally speaking a F formation is what you want to stick from what I've gleaned, sticking someone up in front is pretty much worthless unless you want to kill a bombarder like in 4-3E and is otherwise a SG only position. And sorry my bad, SVD pairs better with WA2000 as they both have RoF buffs. M14 pairs best with another rifle with a FP buff but I don't know one off hand that fits the bill.

Yeah, talking about optimum builds is a bit silly when everyone's still floundering in the 40s-60s range. Still, thanks for the help!

In hindsight, not using many handguns probably wasn't helping my shortage for high level handguns.

Oh no. I want to play this but it's region locked out of my country.

Is there a way for me to DL and play this?

In PH.
Using Iphone 6.

I rolled Thompson twice in a row with a hundred of each resources.. Cool. But I wanted Grizzly or Welrod ._.

In my experience, use APKPure, then install the game's APK directly instead of downloading it from the shop. Also playing PH, and yet I'm doing so just fine.

(Well, I play this game on PC using the Nox emulator...)

>Doing the Midnight 3 missions
>Russian Comedy Hour as AK47 and Simonova attempt an infiltration in the dark whilst Makarov shits on everyone in perfect deadpan

this is great

Like, the Midnights are difficult at the best of times because the Night Combat Effectiveness rating is wildly unreliable but the story segments that surround them make them totally worth it

Nights 1 showed me how mean to MP5 some girls are, MP5 is not for bully.

Who will be your second? I of course will be represented by PPK.

Anyhow I like her design, and her abilitys ok but her tiles are awful. I can't seem to build a good team that uses all of them without wasting most theirs.

The trick, bluntly, is not to do that. Admittedly in my case I'm working with Calico rather than Astra, but her tile layout's the same so: You want her to buff the top and bottom rows, and naturally have your main DPS units in those corners. Common wisdom means putting her in the centre, but because in my case Calico is waaay too low level to main tank, I've wound up doing this:

(with the added bonus of all three HGs being able to buff the RFs; usually Welrod can't in your standard F formation)

That makes sense, not really ready for my HG's to maintank yet and I've got about two squads that perfectly buff everyone right now. That and i'm still able to grab 3+ on my mainstays at the moment.

Though I do have enough snipers I might have to create a Rifle/HG team.

The downside to this formation is that you don't have a lot of room to maneuver. Once you learn how to properly kite, anything but formation F and b feels clunky. And, once you're used to moving units around, putting Calico in slot 5 isn't an issue since you can just swap her with Welrod or Grizzly at the start of each fight.

Oh I don't disagree, but for purposes of level grinding (aka 'use path mode and then wander off') it's pretty well set. I'm not talking optimal 'everyone is lvl100 with 5*+10 equipment' builds here; I don't have anyone that's optimal. In that picture only SVD and Grizzly are above x3 and if Calico is anywhere approaching a place where she can get shot at, she will die. In that formation, my snipers are actually tankier than my handguns right now.

As an aside, I take it Chapter 7 isn't out in EN yet? I've just friend echelon'd beaten the Chapter 6 boss and no Chapter 7 has appeared.

It's really got nothing to do with an optimized party - using kiting, you can get a few free seconds of damage, which lets your team hit a little bit above their weight class. It's really useful when running underpowered teams.

And no Chapter 7 yet, no. Which is a shame, because you get another member of the Anti-Rain team from it - who just so happens to be the single best tank in the game.

The most use I've found from kiting is when you have people in the front row and move them back, usually to stop the armoured railgun guys from getting a shot off, but that needs a 3 deep formation, which doesn't really gel with F formation.

You uh, you start in F, you move your tanks forward, when the railguns/snipers stop to aim you move them back to mid until the enemy starts moving again, then you interrupt their movement back to mid to put them in front to force the enemy to aim again, then you move them back to mid. This gets you a ton of free time for your dps to destroy the frontline or to snipe the enemy back without them getting to fire a shot.
