Combinatorial Explosion (Worm/Original)

... we got a POUND of gold, for less than $1000? And then we turned it into silicon?

[X][Project] To make the body for the eldrich to inhabit (although there are other parts before and after to this specific summoning), we can use this incantation:
Illusory sinew, form now within you
Bond to phantom bone, as I shape this clone
Waters of mystery, flow through each artery
Silicon flesh, between them enmesh
Zirconium pure, the image mature
Arcane salt, make one two, do as I do
A imprint made of magic, out of forces pelagic
A pinch of iron, to resist the environ
Bound to distant will, it's motions distill
Move as it says, you know that's what pays
Summon an instance, anywhere in existence

Bind a giggling shade, to enact this charade

Ok! THis is huge!
"Scribe Elemental Language of Water" = Thaum > Water > Paper
so we should try:
Thaum > Lithium > Paper (Lithium is full of earth essence)
Thaum > Fire > Paper
Thaum > Oxygen > Paper (Oxygen is connected to "Breath")
Thaum > Wood > Paper (pentagon shows us our magic uses the classic Chinese elements)
These are just my guesses. Then we can try to combine them to get Scribe Elemental Language! Or maybe even just Scribe!

Silly ideas:
Language of Power (Corona Pollentia)
Language of Hope (Pandor)
Language of Dragons (Thaum > Water > Cadmium > Paper)
Language of Hell (Thaum > Water > Sulfur > Paper / Thaum > Sulfur > Paper)

We should try to find a way to translate stuff...
Maybe combine it with one of the transformation alchemies? Hamon alchemy deals with waves, it might be helpful.

Also next up! Queenie and Taylor talk!

How about:
Illusory sinew, form now within you.
Silicon flesh, between them enmesh.
Zirconium pure, the image mature.
An imprint of magic, of forces pelagic.
Bound to distant will, it's motions distill.
Summon an instance, Here in existence.
Bring forth whatever hides, and within my power resides.

Yea that also works. Mine was more general and can also be used to summon thoth or make a duplicate of yourself, but that might not be a good thing.

And of course our sweet li'l eco-friendly Dust Engines happened to be a Thaumic Annihilation Reactors. Because Earth-Bet.

seeing her look at the phone like it was ready to bite her
"Don't worry, Lisa it won't" *pause* "ain't really expected to bite you, I mean, it don't even have" *pause* "it's really unlikely to suddenly sprout teeth"

"It's all water, all of it. It's all water," she repeats, rubbing her eyes and breathing frantically.
Discovering a whole new depths of having too much water in your public speech, aren't you, Lisa?
At least now we have the closest thing to Leviathan's native language.

Oh, and a pack of chalk, for drawing the spooky ritual circle and the pentagrams and pentacles I planned on absolutely shrouding my testing area in before I dared attempt it.
Any professional summoner expecting to live into own retirement ought to be in equal measure a neat freak and a very good runner, for obvious reasons.

And Taylor in the beginning of the next chapter will be doing this

Someday, other people beyond our slowly growing little group of friends are going to figure out that Sage is capable of Tinkering with the very conceptual basis of Reality itself. There will be much screaming.

Maybe we should try to delay that moment until we're ready to take on an Endbringer with one hand tied behind our back.

TAYLOR YOU DID NOT LEARN YOUR LESSON! Nobody can reasonably say they've learned their lesson from Lovecraftian horror when attempting to summon actual intelligent Lovecraftian horrors instead!

"Scribe Elemental Language of Water" = Thaum > Water > Paper
Although the mana chain Google Sheet hasn't been updated, The Language was from Arcane > Paper (i.e. Mana > Water > Paper). Arcane attunements do not contain Thaumic mana (which is mana attuned to Earth Bet's air). Basically Arcane trials are Taylor sticking her hand in a bucket of water and attuning with a material. For your tests, you should do Arcane > X > Paper since I suspect your tests will currently make interesting colored stains via Thaumic paper magic or be otherwise contaminated. For example, the chains of Arcane > Brain and Thaum > Water > Brain are slightly different. I do like the idea of trying for Draconic as a language though!
Mana > X > Paper is another possibility though we would need to buy a vacuum chamber or somehow separate out a single type of gas to surround the object we want to attune with.

To be fair, I'm pretty sure the first thing she's going to summon will be the main consciousness of QA, stuffed into a cat. Or a blob of water.

It'll impotently rage at her. Best familiar get!

... ooh I like the idea of making her a cat, and/or keeping her around as a familiar. I also just realized that by being able to negotiate with her directly we open up a whole bunch of warlock tricks and tropes to exploit.

I think it's gonna be something closer to a Golem Core, which I hope taylor makes multiple bodies for!

Thanks for the info!
Vaccum Chamber would either damage Taylor's fingers or Attune to the Glass first.
Pure mana might only be possible in the void between worlds, but that might not be breathable lol.

She could avoid attuning to the glass if she's "wearing" it (with some kind of harness), it's directly touching the skin, and is reasonably thin.

You guys are forgetting that we can pass mana through things without attuning to them. I doubt we even have to stick our hand in water to do arcane magic. We just need it close enough our pure mana can reach it, and then when we have the type we need, we can pass it through the glass walls of the chamber, and the air, without attuning to either.

Now that I think about it, I assume we have been putting all the gases we have made with denature into grown, sealed, little wooden chambers that we pass mana through to test. Otherwise we wouldent be able to easily do Thaum > [Other Gas] without everything dispersing into the air.

Hmm, we've homed in (heh) on the bird theme with a pigeon, but what do you all think about the idea of getting an actual raven or two?

Personally. Once we get a big enough space to keep it, I want to biotinker up a huge blue lightning bird to ride.
Ive got a lot of biolectricty based ideas I really want to get on soon.

Yea, but we should we make Thoth ino that lightning bird, or make it a soulless golem, or capture a raven that due to size and intelligence probably has a more powerful soul and can learn more complex ways to help us out? And if we use a raven, wouldn't it make sense to capture a few, bond with them and get to know them and test them out via temporary summons, before we make something that big and dangerous?

And call them Huginn and Muninn. Good idea, really. Ravens are much better familiar material then sky-rats due to their smarts, and much more fitting for someone with alias Sage, with them being tied to witches and wizards in many tales.

Edit: just remember to make sure that it's raven (Corvus Corax) and not a black crow (Corvus Corone)

But lab safety... We could turn into a bird if we don't fix that pronto! Being a bird sucks if you can't turn back!
We should conduct our experiments on the other side of a Ring of Protection, ignited by a combination of Construct/Structure, and any magics we have that can make things inert(Baking soda?).
Also we need to try housing things in the void!

ÿes,and then do the same with some bug we're very much not attached to. and then with an eyeball plant, a pressure gauge, thermometer, etc. to document what it looks like and local conditions.
