    Well, considering what you were in your last life...

    "You have selected 2!

    Please select your race. This will determine how fast certain Abilities grow and what you look like.

    For Human, press 1. Abilities will grow very slowly. No special attributes.

    For Elf, press 2. Magic will grow at an extremely fast rate. You will have long, pointed ears.

    For Pallum, press 3. Abilities will grow very slowly, but you will be small and able to see in the dark.

    For Amazon, press 4. Strength and Endurance will grow at an accelerated rate. You will have dark skin and hair.

    For Cat Person, press 5. Dexterity and Agility will grow at an accelerated rate. You will have cat ears and tail, retractable claws, and be able to see in the dark.

    For Chienthrope, press 6. Endurance and Agility will grow at an accelerated rate. You will have dog ears and tail."

    You can't help but wondering why only those are available, but then you realize that those are the races that have had the most revealed about them in canon, and have the most representative characters.

    Let's see... If you recall correctly...

    Strength is used for lifting, pushing, pulling, and brute force attacks.

    Endurance is used for taking blows, blocking, and resisting damage.

    Dexterity is used for ranged weapons, sneak attacks, and weapons of skill.

    Agility is used for running, dodging, and stealth.

    Magic is used for... well, spellcasting.

    • So, I've just been pondering here at the thought of will our character take the spot of Bell, or are we just coexisting with the protagonist. Maybe we'll even be in a different time period? I'm pretty hyped for this quest, because the Danmachi universe is underused world with plenty of potential in my opinion. Honestly as long as the setting is the same, I don't care how it's spun, I love towns built around dungeons with stats to boost exponentially :)

    Thanks! I feel the same way! DanMachi's verse has a lot of potential, but I've always worried the series is a bit too niche. I admit, I'll be a bit worried that the stat growth will be too fast for the DanMachi world, since the reader/viewer is only given a comprehensive insight into Bell's greatly accelerated stat growth, but I hope to do my best estimates on how fast non-racially-boosted stats might grow.

    Anyway, the protagonist will be co-existing alongside Bell, not replacing him. However, what really makes DanMachi good for a quest is that there are no ultimate evils or big goods. A character's adventure is entirely what they make for it, so the protagonist can be just as much a hero as Bell is without overshadowing him or taking over his story. As for what point in the DanMachi timeline our protagonist is entering, well... Spoiler. ;)

    Not trying to jump the gun or anything but this is my internet pic idea for our protag. I'm thinking full on archery build, and make use of cat powers to get shots off from absurd places, or maybe even just a rouge-like build that centers around daggers and stealth archery.

    Well, if Cat Person wins, I'm either going to have the breed her ears and tail (and by extension, her hair, skin, and eye colors) are based on be decided by a vote, OR, just go with Turkish van, my second-favorite breed of cat after Bombay (because black cats are best cats <3). I'd wanna go with a Turkish van due to their supposed love of water and fluffy tails, to make our protagonist love swimming and baths, since I find it an interesting character trait that she'd love baths and swimming despite being a kitty, and private bath scenes would give a good chance for introspection and situation summaries. I suppose whether I make it a breed vote or just choose Turkish van myself might depend on whether I'm eager to start or wanna give myself a bit more time to plan possible plot points. Of course, that's assuming Cat Person wins, that is. But I will be giving a similar treatment to Chienthropes with different doggo breeds. XD

    And yeah, it'd determine skin color, too. If she's ends up based on a Bombay or other dark-furred breed, I'd make her dark-skinned to match.

    Well... Might as well. Agility is good to dodge with and run away from threats outside your weight class. As for Dexterity, a blade without finesse is just an iron bar and ranged is always useful for enemies you can't reach. If you can see in the dark, you won't need a torch or lantern, and if you get jumped in a dark room, you'll have the advantage, or can make it by taking out the light yourself. Retractable claws mean you'll never truly be unarmed and, well... Hey, you're a cat perso-Nope! Not saying it. Five.

    "You have selected... five. Please select the breed of cat you wish your appearance to be based on."

    Breed of cat? Well this is different...

    "For a Bombay, press 1. This will give you dark skin, golden eyes, and black hair and fur. Your fur will be short-length.

    For a Turkish van, press 2. This will give you red hair, ginger fur, pale skin, and heterochromatic blue and amber eyes. Your fur will be medium-length.

    For a Siamese, press 3. This will give you fair skin, white hair, black fur, and blue eyes. Your fur will be short-length.

    For Maine coon, press 4. This will give you tanned skin and brown hair and fur. Your fur will be long-length.

    To make any of these breeds a Munchkin sub-breed, thus reducing your total height by thirty centimeters or one foot, please add a zero to any of the above numbers."

    Munchkin, huh? Well, making yourself shorter would give you a smaller hitbox, make you lighter on your feet for climbing and jumping, make it easier to fit in small places, and easier to fit in people's laps oh my god you're thinking like a cat already.
