Catching Victory (A Pokemon Quest)

Sorry it took so long to get this out. I was busy with important real life stuff.

And playing Hotline Miami 2. There's that.

Can we do these together, so we don't have to split the update?

Making a Trade
You go to the Pokemon Center and heal your pokemon then start heading to the Pokemon Research Lab. It's around 8:45. Most people are inside. Either because they're at work or they're trying to avoid the rain. Adamantine is in her pokeball because... there really isn't a way for her to move without cracking the pavement.

The building is an opaque glass crescent shaped building with it's entrance in the middle of it's inner side, with trees lining the sidewalk leading to it. The sign with the lab's name on a stone sign near the sidewalk. You and your pokemon follow the path, until you get to the sliding glass doors.

When you enter, the hall way ahead splits to a 'T' shaped intersection, the walls are a sterile white. A waiting area with a TV and several couches is to the left. The front desk is to the right and a slightly overweight security guard is on the computer. He doesn't immediately notice you. Maybe he's looking through the security cameras, maybe he's surfing the web, maybe he's playing a video game. Either way, you walk up to the desk and clear your throat to get his attention.

The guard doesn't even look up. "Welcome to the Pokemon Legends Research Laboratory" the security guard says, in a disinterested voice. "How may I help you?" From the looks of it, he's more interested in whatever is happening on his screen than talking to you.

"Yes, I was told to see either Doctor Mendelson or Doctor Glass about trading an Unown." You say.

The security guard looks up at the mention of Mendelson and Glass before pushing a button on the intercom.

"Doctors Mendelson and Glass, someone at the front desk is here for you about an Unown." Before going right back to his computer screen. "The Doctors will be down here in a minute" the guard says. "Please sign the non-disclosure forms and take a seat by the couch."

On the desk are a pen and two small boxes of papers, one contains the non disclosure agreements and thee other is for the signed agreements. Glancing at them, they just say that you agree not to disclose anything you learn at the lab that isn't public knowledge under penalty of legal action.

You sign the papers. You're just going to be here for a quick trade anyway. You decide that having small talk with the guard would be a lost cause so you sit by the couch. Neptune and Joan sit on another couch and start talking to each other. Cascoon and Philosoraptor start watching the television, apparently entranced by it. The show seems to be playing some sort of sci fi show. With nothing else to do, you sit down to watch while you wait.

"And now, the show you like the most! The show made by Post! We bring you the continuing adventures of CAPTAIN VIDEOOOO!" The overly enthusiastic announcer cheers. "Master of Space! Hero of SCIENCE!!! And the savior of us all!"

After the theme song, you start watching it, occasionally talking to Cascoon and Philosoraptor about it. The dialogue is cheesy, the costumes for the alien races look like they were just found in the back of a closet, and the special effects look like they were made with a budget of two dollars but you still enjoy it.

You are shaken from your thought when you hear someone talking in the distance. "I'm telling you, the P7 virus is good! I just need a little more time and-" A male voice says slightly high pitched.

"Doctor Glass, how long has Cliff been saying this?" A female voice asks.

"About three years Doctor Mendelson" A different male voice answers. "Look Cliff. I know how much this means to you but we need results. A-"

"But my last test was good! It had results!" Cliff protest as all three round the corner. "No matter what Robin says!"

"I think we can continue this discussion later." the other man, apparently Doctor Glass says as he notices you. "So you were the boy that Doctor Henley mention? The one with the Unown?"

"That'd be me" You answer. "May I ask what you were talking about before?" You ask, curious about this P7 virus.

Cliff is about to answer when Glass interrupts him. "That's sensitive right now."

"It's purely theoretical" Doctor Mendelson adds. "And we don't make a habit of releasing the information on theoretical concepts. Especially if it hasn't born any fruit after years of trying" She looks at Cliff, who's expression turns to one of despair and resignation.

"But on to more promising fields of study. Doctor Henley said that you had an Unown for us?" He asks.

Nodding, you release the Unown from their pokeball. The Unown examines it's new surroundings before you recall it. Doctors Mendelson and Glass both beam when they see the pokemon.

"Yes! I think this will do nicely" Doctor Glass says, not even trying to conceal his smile.

"I think you've earned this" Doctor Mendelson says, also smiling. She takes out a pokeball. While it looks like most others, this one has "62-41B" stamped on it along with a white dot on the top. "Now take good care of her." You assure you that you will before leaving.

You obtained an Elgyem!
Gender: Female
Level: 12
Nature: Impish

Give Elgyem a nickname?

[] Yes (Write In)
[] No

You exit the lab, wondering just how they will treat the Unown, and what experiments that they'll do. Still you're not worried. Elgyem seems fine.

I want a Beedrill. Also, we need to nickname Cascoon.

Interlude
You walk north towards Naragex Forest, determined to train there. Your pokemon have been talking among themselves. Even Adamantine, though she's more quiet.

"You know, Bard is a weird name. Has anyone else ever told you that?"

You nearly jump when you hear the voice in your head. You look around, almost convinced that the Hypno is around.

"No, it isn't Hypno. It's me!" You look around before finally realizing that it's Eva whose communicating with you.

"Could you... not do that?" You ask Eva, feeling more than a little creeped out.

"Reading your mind or talking to you telepathically?" She asks.

"Both." You say bluntly. "It's... creepy."

"Alright. I'll try not to do it. Too much." Eva says. You can tell she doesn't mean it but you don't push the issue for now.

Getting your mind off of that, you consider Cascoon. Everyone else on your team has a nickname but him. And he has kicked all sorts of ass. Especially against that Charmander last night. He deserves a nickname. Calling a pokemon by the name of their species just feels wrong. Like they aren't an individual. Just another member of their species. Still, he doesn't seem to mind not having one and no nickname is better than a bad one.

[] Give Cascoon a nickname.
[] Don't.

Is it okay to write in a follow up option to hug Eva and explain that it will take time for us to get use to telepathy as a form of communication? I really don't want to make her feel rejected for just speaking up.
