But the existence of the "you" that you believe in is so tenuous - Shin Megami Tensei/Persona General

Ann's persona may give us a little context for the early game, specifically that Oni looking creature which apparently had Ann trapped in a wine glass (PV#3 2:06), as well as that sequence from the PV where the unknown person was reaching out to Ann before being stopped by Phantom and Ryuji, and that line"You are not human. You are nothing but a pathetic demon possessed by the the desire for relationships.". Opera!Carmen (Not to be confused with the real person, who pretty much was only similar in how she died) was a smuggler who led on two men before getting bored with them. One of her suitors, a bullfighter, goes crazy and kills her.

Putting that together, one could assume that Ann is (at least perceived as) flirty as well. That oni looking figure apparently has an attack where he strikes with a volleyball. So perhaps the group's first(?) target is the captain of the volleyball team, who is similarly jealous about Ann (maybe due to her growing connection with Phantom?). As a result, due to whatever occult forces surround the school, said athlete becomes a demon and kidnaps Ann. Then Protag, Morgana, and Ryuji have to rescue her and "steal his corrupt heart", whatever that means.

According to her profile though, it seems like she's a lonely person, isolated by/from the rest of the class (maybe due to her foreign heritage?). Until (presumably) the MC comes along and maybe then whoever's had their eye on her goes crazy?

What I really want to know is, what in blazes is Aizen's little brother up to?

And now I'm wondering if Carmen will have physical attacks, because they basically have human flails. And that's a thing I'm pretty sure I'd want to see in action.

...yup, Anzu route.

Full power. Total destruction.

...I say now, but watch Atlus tug on my heart strings with five other feel-filled romance routes.

That's carmen?

Well, i was wrong about her being the one to steal our memories. She is however the one to steal our hearts.

So remember: if you ever got madly in love with something randomly, that was the above Beauty fault.

A phone app. Of course.

So I guess in Persona 6 in 2021 they'll enter the other world via specially modified Oculus Rifts.

So because there's no specific thread for general SMT discussion (someone who isn't me should really get on that):
There's been another game announced.

It's called SMT IV: Final. Here are the deets we know so far:
http://gematsu.com/2015/10/shin-mega...racter-details

Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final is set in the year 203X. In order to avoid the destruction caused by the gods war that suddenly broke out 25 years ago, the sky was covered with a thick bedrock to avoid contact with the outside. The war ended before long, and while Tokyo is surviving, there are few goods to go around and people are killing each other, and man is dominated by the angels and demons standing at the top of the food chain.
The game's characters consist of:

  • Protagonist (voiced by Hiro Shimono) – The protagonist spends his days as an apprentice for the organization known as the Outlaw Hunters. During a mission, he is attacked by a demon and dies.
  • Mysterious Demon (voiced by Shuichi Ikeda) – After his death, he forms a contract with the protagonist, who was wandering around the underworld, and grants him a new life and the ability to summon demons.
  • Asahi (voiced by Tomoko Seike) – The protagonist's childhood friend. She is 15 years old and belongs to the same Outlaw Hunters group he does.
  • Navarre (voiced by Shintaro Ohata) – The same Navarre from Shin Megami Tensei IV. Unable to rest in peace after losing his life to something minor, when he meets the protagonist he wastes no time in possessing him. He's green and has a chibi figure.

Development on Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final is currently 90 percent complete.
Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final is due out for 3DS in Japan on February 10, 2016 for 6,480 yen.

Additional info from /v/:
Majin Daguza brings you back to life, "From today, you are my godslayer. We'll kill all the gods together"

The final war between the great angel merkabah and the demon king lucifer are heading towards the end. In the midst of this, a "alliance of the gods" lead by mother fucking Krishna comes down and demands that humans give up their souls so that he can save humanity.

I could just convert this thread into Persona/SMT general if there's no problem with that.

I think everyone has come to the conclusion "Daguza" is Dagda at this point in time. Dagda is the Celtic King of Gods, successor to Nuada in the title of All Father. More significantly, he was capable of resurrecting the dead by hitting them with the handle of his club. He has ties to Ogma, Brigid, and Lady Danu.

Direct sequel to SMT IV, using what seem to be mechanics poached from SMT If?

Weird; didn't realize I wanted this until today.

God Dammit.

Another (probably) good game that I'm not going to be able to play, thanks to Nintendo.

This thread is now general SMT/Persona. Probably not going to get new Persona 5 info for a while so why restrict it to just that?

More SMTIV Stuff:

This screenshot seems to show that Skill Affinities are back. There's a +4 for Ice there and a -1 for Fire. Looks like there'll be some advantage to giving elementally thematic skills to demons this time.

This one has a better view of the silhouetted demons with Krishna. I'm guessing new designs for Vairocana and Odin?

Huh, Big Yellow being voiced by Wakamoto in the livestream? An upgrade from Emperor to Divinity? Angels and other Law demons now yell "All Hail Oppai?":lol

Also, battle theme uploaded:

YHVH is back! Perhaps Aleph is back as well?

It's does suck that YHVH is back though. I thought Aleph permanently killed him or at least fractured him permamently into pieces like Metatron and Demiurge from SJ.

That was never really on the table; it's been canon since SMT2 itself that YHVH will return so long as even a single human prays for salvation.
