I'm doubting Long John Silver, he did not have an eyepatch and did have crutches. Unfortunately, Ryu's persona lacks a hook, so not Captain Hook. If it weren't for the eyepatch, I'd say Captain Blood. There was also an old french novel (Clients of the Good Yellow Dog tavern) which featured pirates who dressed in bones to scare their prey, but I cannot find any details about it via wikipedia.

So, together with the chain motifs of the personas we've seen so far (and the obvious prison stuff for the MC) it looks like this one will be about the burdens and restrictions society places on you.

If that's the case, then the whole thing about the Deadly Sins makes sense. They would be a way one could release their stress and tension from those burdens, but indulge too much and you would lose control.
The big question here is, "What do they mean by hearts?" Memories? Emotions? The True Self?
What if the protags have it wrong from the start and think that stealing everyone's hearts would help them? Only to realize how wrong they were halfway through the game?
