Given the talk about doing something he should done a long time ago and Corax's stance on ethical issues as summarised by The GM -

I thnk he might be about to recruit Angron and his Legion to do something about Konrad Curze. Aka the living embodiment of everything Corax detests in warfare and the brother by blood who seemingly exists to be writ large the thing Corax purged his own Legion with Angron's help to get rid of.

After all -

So yeah my speculation is that Corax is planning to stage his own intervention on the Night Haunter because he's just not willing to tolerate Konrad's …….. everything anymore and is pulling in the brother who has helped him with similar issues in the past.

Irony because this kind of corrective action is basically what Russ did to canon Angron as glimpsed in the novel 'Betrayer' which the author has cited and enjoyed.

A big hand to @toxinvictory by the way, for guessing this ahead of time.

Well, ok, you have to stretch definitions a bit to call this an "intervention" or "corrective action", but still!

Yeah there was no way Corax was going to let some sadistic terrorist run loose like this. Even in the optimal win there was no chance someone like Conrad Kurze would just be quiet and not attack the Imperium in a death frenzy.

I say yes, but not sure on who to call on for further support if we decide to do so. I'm leaning towards Vulkan, Sanguinius, or Magnus but I'm not sure how wise it is to contact them.

I do very much look forward to Kharn and Sevatar fighting it out.

Two of the nicest mass-murderers in the setting, really swell guys if you don't end up on the wrong side of their chainblade.
And two of the best people for killing whoever is in front of them among all 18 Legions of course.

I have some vague sympathy for Kurze, but it really is difficult to come up with a reason not to kill him that doesn't rely on OOC knowledge, other than "it could spiral out of control."

Sadly, now is the perfect time to deal with Curze. The Emperor only has eyes for the Webway project, Malcador has been given a hard shake, and Horus is going to be busy dealing with all the fallout.

With the wildly differing combat styles Angron and Corax have in their legions I wouldn't be surprised if they went though a solid chunk of the Night Lords without much trouble, but Corax had better have our back when it's all said and done. We're already high up on the shit list, and without him outright saying he asked for our help it'd be child's play for Malcador to say we've gone rogue too and pressure Horus to put us down.

Hey guys, remember when we made friends with the friendliest Primarch ever, y'know the Primarch of the 18th legion "salamanders", I'm willing to bet that if anything he'd be willing to merk Conrad, and damn near everyone has a bone to pick with him so we should look around for friends.

As a side note Alpharius came out if nowhere with his offer of support and while he might not be up to killing skin-fetish Batman it's a good idea to cultivate this relationship.

"Why now?"

Corax raises an eyebrow. "I admit, I was expecting a different question."

"The man is a lunatic with flaying pits, Corvus. Mass-produced flaying pits, ones he designed himself, like that was a problem he needed to solve. I'm not surprised you want him dead," you grumble, shaking your head and tapping out a brief rhythm on the table. "He's been like this for centuries, and you've had your Legion for long enough. Why go after him now."
Angron raises a strong point.

[Q] Yes
- [Q] Stick them in their own flaying pits.

Ok so I am going to put up a theory, what if Konrad found out about chaos and purged his legion of it. It is kind of obvious in retrospect that Tzeentch was messing with him. Since he would receive 2 visions and one of them was false. Tzeentch lives to do that shit.

I think we should gather some more brothers and have a Trial. Going off rogue and half-cocked is something old Angron would do. But going after Konrad with the full support of the Imperium and other primarchs would be more responsible. Since the New Angron would be setting a example of responsibility and Justice.

Also this is a great example of the insane scale of the Imperium relative to its communication.

Nostromo, a hive-world and a Primarch's homeworld dissapeared and it was barely noticed.
Curze took his core-fleet completly away from crusading to destroy the world and it was not at all noticed.

This is madness.
I mean, looking at the real world, this is like Vladivostok dissapearing and Moscow not noticing.

The Night Lords actually should shatter pretty easily; their whole thing is being bullies and preying on the weak then collapsing when you bring strength down on them. I would be more worried about the political fallout than the battle causalities.

May I ask a question? Do you actually believe that or are you just playing devils advocate.

The Nightlords scatter easily, but in the original timeline they are also very good at it, surviving their defeats and retreats.

The only explanation I can come up with is it would have horrendous casualties, but as we all know that doesn't really stop angron
Yeah, but if we take horrendous casualties how will Angron rebel in the future?

Capture him and find out? Maybe it'll let Angron find out more about Tchar

I think I can guess what format the local heresy will take, lol.

Not the classic heresy with castling, not three factions, but a scattering (6-7?) of independent wars, where the primarchs will settle scores with each other, Curze with Corvus, Russ with Magnus, Perturabo with Dorn, and so on, and in the end, by the time the Emperor is done with the Webway (or screwed up with it), about half of the primarchs will have been killed.

Playing devils advocate sort of. Konrad wanted to be a good person but was driven mad by the many visions he received and growing up utterly alone on one of the most shitty world's imaginable. Even his suicide in cannon was him trying to get justice for his victims.
Fantastic he's just committed suicide by primarch rather than assassin this time. :p
I'm not against calling in more primarchs, if theres anything better than two people beating up one guy its three beating up the guy however I don't see this vote ending in anything but a Yes

Now we know why the first phase of setting up friends and rivals was so important. Probably Russ and Mortarion going after Magnus next to be honest.

Talk about a No Brainer and this is somewhat literally since Angron straight up has Nails in his brain. There is pretty much no IC reason not to finally kill Konrad and put him out of his misery.
