Hm...Children of Gaia? I like the idea of focusing on recruiting young people still, and the reference to Earth ties into the idea of opposing the City as it exists.
fine in concept but the cult vibes on this are extremely present here like wow, i'd expect for people to automatically assume we're a cult in-story
being eco-friendly/religious itself shouldn't be a problem, but maybe this could do with swapping "children" out for something else? that way the name can both be inclusive to people who don't feel such a strong connection to religion/being a kid, and also not understate/look down on our members' competence by infantilising them?
checked synonyms but can't find anything that both implies a relation without being overly pretentious or overly weird though, sorry.
This seems to be the most fitting name IMO
could do with some rephrasing IMO, earthbound/homebound is the name for an event, or a thing, but not the name for a group or an affiliation if that makes sense
might bit on the nose too, if our faction name's suspiciously similar to something else then we'd have to deal with that the whole time, like constantly being reminded of FF7
I was looking at the words for various space-terminology, and noticed the word 'Astral'. which relates both to Stars and Psychic Abilities.
To be quite frank, that is a perfect fit for us: Both Space And PSI related.
Anyone have any ideas for a organisation name using it? I'm thinking, perhaps, Astral Alert, but I'm pretty sure someone else can come up with better.
ooh, nice catch on a word that combines both space and psycic. first thought for the second word was "astral renegades" to counterbalance any negative cult vibes but it's a bit aggressive/not inconspicuous/might not shorten too well
astral alliance could work? it's got alliteration and the vibes aren't super creepy since both parts temper eachother (astral has vibes of cool exclusivity and secret knowledge, alliance has vibes of being cooperative (which we're probably willing to do) without being the super creepy "stepford smiler" sort of cult or calling attention
might not be perfect but it's grown on me, and both calling our group "the alliance"(polite company name, if a bit ambitious) and "the astrals"(gang name) depending on the situation works well
could possibly do with some more inconspicuousness but that problem could be solved by basic information security training and getting members to not let the police know they're a gang member.
