Bone and Blood (Naruto Quest)

A/N3: Hey what if that chunin you spared was a deep-cover ROOT agent? Wouldn't that be wacky? Just a fun hypothetical.
It would honestly explain how he survived, considering he wouldn't be the kind of operative to overly risk himself and to preserve himself as much as possible in at least some state of medical recoverability.

[X] Write-in (Lord Honda)
-[X] Honda is certain to have some insights into the matters of what Lord Hanzo means about War coming to the Land of Storms, and given our ability to create such resplendent and resilient robes on command supplying him with some to have made into his preferred... maid outfits would not be outside our ability as well as a way to practice the technique. As Honda is one of the few people who knows our history, he may have insights and access to resources to dye the material to his own desired methods and this does give an in to get him talking about Lord Hanzo's own plans.

[X] It's been a while since you really worked one-on-one with Youme-sensei, but she'd probably have insights into further developing your new supplemental ability. And if the War really will ramp up in the Land of Storms, getting more insights on poisons would be helpful.

I suddenly have the irresistible urge to ship Tsubaki and Honda

Shin? Kabuto? Nonō?

[X] Youme-sensei's teammate Tobiko can be… offputting, but you think her field of research might help you figure out how to dye the fabric you've made. And she's something of a gossip, so maybe you can figure out just what Lord Hanzo meant by the 'turbulent time' that the village was facing.

I'm doubling down on the sensei options

[X] Between getting burned with lava, Lord Hanzo's cryptic warnings, Satou's cryptic hypotheticals, and losing all of your clothiers, you're feeling oddly pressured. Spending time with Iori, your other former teammate, always helped you clear your head back when you were both genin, so you'll go find him.

Tobiko is the Medic/Researcher right?

I really want this option to win cause it might allow us to finally make use of those weird ass experiments we brought back to the village from the secret lab.
Effectively granting Tsubaki cool abilities beyond the Shikotsumyaku
Or it might be an opportunity to learn some actual Medical Ninjutsu so that next time we are hurt from a fight, we can then use it to speed up our healing.
Or using those skills to boost Shikotsumyaku's deadliness.
Or we might meet Honda again.

As for Youme, she could possibly help figure out what all the political intrigues in the village are all about.
And help us in our poison research which I would really like to see be developed.
Especially since Tsubaki is becoming ever more dependent on melee combat as time goes on.
Where poisons could be a huge help.

Slowly working on fixing our clothes situation and development of our jutsu that will become the envy of kunochi everywhere. Honestly, Naruto's setting needed more casual and utility techniques that people throw around.

Miss me with yet another murder blender chakra hog. Give me the shadow war over the legendary paperwork techniques. The factional conflict over the "perfect coffee" vs "endless coffee" jutsu. The unity of fire and wind style in stupid smoke tricks that escalated from that one guy showing off smoke rings.

Considering how Hanzo had referred to Tsubaki by her first name until now makes me concerned. Waning trust is one thing, but I really don't think he can afford risking her at this time.

You should probably talk to a professional about that. Or not, they'd probably tell you to stop reading the quest.

No, that's Retsuko. Tobiko also has a field of research but she's never been completely transparent about what, exactly, it is. She does some sort of logistics work involving foreign affairs/subterfuge otherwise though.

Miss me with yet another murder blender chakra hog.
So miss you with... Tsubaki?

Agreed, but mundane utility stuff like you said. Unfortunately I'm not sure how much fulfillment Tsubaki will get working in the Ninja Patent Office. She's more of a Hashirama fan than a Tobirama fan, after all.

To give you the Doylist explanation, that was entirely to draw a contrast between Hanzo, who knows Tsubaki's surname, and everyone else, who doesn't. Officially she just has the one name, which plenty of people in Ame do.

I wonder if Tsubake is ever going to be forced to wear... *shudder* ugh... standard issue.
Forced? Probably not, forcing people with any sort of excess power or influence to do something they don't like is a good way to get them to resent you.

Write-in (Lord Honda)
I'm iffy on this for now but Honda doesn't like Tsubaki and she doesn't like him, he's unlikely to respond to someone he sees as lesser than him. But it could be fun I guess, so I won't veto it. I actually plan for there to be a Honda chapter in the next intermission.

It's one of those times when things aligned that we are working on something that might actually pique Honda's interest enough for a semi-civil or at least non-violent meeting to happen. His Character Info explicitly lists Maid Uniforms as a "Like" so I figured a dress related opportunity may actually be something he'd relax doing. The man then bragging and being able to talk some amount of shop regarding the war and Lord Hanzo and the line over drinks and trying to one up each other's deeds would be an interesting change of pace.

And again, he is also one of the few people in the world that outright know about Tsubaki's bloodline so it would make the conversation a lot more enjoyably straightforward.

Nah, that was talking about jutsu, not characters. Murderblender characters don't usually need more murderblender techniques. Murderblender characters have enough survivability to have gathered a fun stock of utility techniques to show off casually.

Agreed, but mundane utility stuff like you said. Unfortunately I'm not sure how much fulfillment Tsubaki will get working in the Ninja Patent Office. She's more of a Hashirama fan than a Tobirama fan, after all.

Oh yeah, she definitely would look down on such a desk chunin technique. But other fun utility techniques would be great.

I'd like to see Tsubaki actually interact with Youme-sensei, and taking the pressure relief option seems like a good idea.

Its certainly possible, as we know canon Danzo and Hanzo had some dealings, but it does seem unlikely.
