It's a matter of economics, the value of the [Bait Slave] is in her ability to be bait. She offers nothing else of greater value to the Sheik or daughter. They are aliens with different morals to 21st century western humans.
I agree their morals are quite far from ours but I wouldn't describe it as alien, slavery in Brazil lasted until 1888.

There's a phrase I heard recently that says "Fish don't know they're in water." The culture which utilizes slavery and glorifies bloodsports has pervaded Chandrar for quite some time, and I'm sure that Livia and the Shiek have some established narrative that allows them to sleep at night. This doesn't really "excuse" slavery, but it's important to keep a perspective that this cruelty is considered "how the world works", and it's going to take a LOT of effort to try and change that.
Sure they have different morals, but so did the nazis, the confederates, belgian slavers in africa, current russian regime and so on. And fuck those, too.

Even if it isnt going to be good, his mind needs to be tempered. The teacher position partly isolates us from the suffering of the World. We need to face reality. Maybe we could get XP or a class from "giving her the last mercy".

Such a class would definitely exist, though not sure if we'd get it from this one act. Typically classes recognize who and what you are trying to be. You won't get the class if you don't want to get it, outside of red classes at least. Still regardless of whether we'd get much out of it or not. Comfort the dying, especially ones otherwise alone.
Considered making giving her the last mercy part of the vote, but not sure that is something MC could push himself to do. Plus considering that system apparently includes how you think about your actions in giving classes, could killing someone + feeling very guilty about it -> [Murderer]? That class sounds like it could lead to us getting social issues when/if we arrive in civilization after escaping.
I dont really see Murderer being a problem, In that scenario the stigma of being an escaped slave would make us an outlaw by default. That is part of the reason why i never considered escaping so early in the first place. We are a teacher, so we wouldnt survive long in the wild anyway. Our class needs people to teach, which in such a world would only be the elite, and our "master" sould have the contacts to allow us to train our class.
Considering that, my plan is becoming a valued slave and confidant (teaching slaves where highly respected in roman times), while getting and training a combat class with the leeway and security afforded to a trusted servant before escaping. Alternatively we could go full on grey eminence and use the young age of our master to make her our puppet and manipulating our "betters" as a "mere slave".

Frankly it would be for the best if we started getting creative with whatever commands Livia gets us, getting more levels as a [Slave] is not something we want. Also fuck slavers. Ahem, with that said we should do what we can to help others, courage redeems the world and all that. I think it will be good for our morale and it might even earn us a favorable reputation with other slaves. I sincerely implore other readers to avoid following Livia's commands when we can subvert them, if only for the sake of advancing our plans for escape and delaying the development of the [Slave] class.
