I think I vaguely recall that those Giant Hollows that Hisagi's, Kira's, Hinamori's and Renji's expedition encountered were his doing, though could be I'm misremembering. Maybe I'm misremembering though.

I'm surprised not more of you have heard about it. It's been out for nearly a year now, I'll quote TV Tropes' article on it: "Released in Japan in December 2016, the novel focuses on the reconstruction of Soul Society after Yhwach's defeat, and on the Official Couples' love lives and marriage: specifically, on Rukia and Renji's Childhood Friend Romance."
I've yet to read it myself, but those who have seem satisfied at some of the loose ends that were tied like confirming which characters are dead or alive since their last appearance.

Could be. I just took the "could survive combat with a numero, let alone an Espada" to refer to someone raising up the possibility of us facing an Espada. Though now that you mention it Halibel doesn't seem like she would habe an eager smile. Maybe it's just Cirucci thinking herself as still an Espada. Could also be that I was just mislead by the text since we have so little of it.
