First, he already knows we have had our change, so it would be a tough sell to convince him that now we have changed for real.

second, not being able to associate us anymore is a huge stretch, why in the world would us having character growth matter to his emotional baggage? We are still his abusive family to him (only you want us to dial up the abuse up to 11)

third, this is an irrelevant argument. Him not blaming us and forgiving us has nothing to do with being a counter argument to what I said. If we break him and he ends up not being capable of heroics and goes to hufflepuff instead? or what if he gives into the dark side and goes to slytherin? him forgiving dudley after a year in slytherin will do jack to undo this

I think not picking Harry Hunting can be justified with more interesting choices from the OOC and IC perspective.

1. Sounds funny
2. This could let us knick the DnD thing in the bud.
3. I'm sure the QM thought up some neat NPCs.
4. I want to see how we do in boxing.
5. We may as well boost our riding. We may end up in a situation where we"ll rely on our bicycle. He just got his bike anyway.
6. Dudley has boosted his Intelligence & Wisdom by several points. Lets see how easy homework is for him now.

We will visit the local bookstore, take up a quest to deliver a message, accidentally get caught up with the local terrorist group and begin our grand journey to save Remnant Britain.

Just need to level up that wis and learn some variations of clairvoyance.

Mostly, I think it might be useful for in-character metagaming. Talk about how game structures work, get a bit of a grounding in RPG mechanics, and some of this stuff maybe starts making more sense.

You got a idea, you like watching television, you like boxing, you like science, and you like training. So, why not watch scientists box and train both skills at once?

Slightly disapointed you didn't get anything from your clever planning, you instead set it into action. Grabbing a remote and flipping through until you find the science channel.

"Welcome to Grant Fight. For those of you tuning in, we have two microbiologists competing for a fifty thousand pound research grant. Both of these scientists have a doctorate each, but thats were the differences end! In the left corner, Yale Graduate with two masters in the field of cellular biology, its Dr. Phil Princeston. In the other, it's top of his class Harvard graduate Dr. James Rhodney. Both of these scientists will be in the lab today. They won't see a penny of funding unless they can disprove the other, and knock them out cold!"
