Being the Holy Grail is Suffering... [Worm/FSN Quest]

Waver isn't a servant. What you're refering to is Zhuge Liang basically summoned into Waver. Honestly, if you wanted to use him outside of a work containing waver you'd have to jump through a lot of hoops.

Okay, I just finished a session of D&D (where the party almost got wiped because all but one of them fell in love with the very attractive Nymph they were fighting) and I'm going to go get food right now. Going to start writing in probably an hour. It looks like Vista has been made into a Master (I honestly expected this vote to be much closer...)

I didn't.

Vista is a rather fan favorite, if there was a chance to feature her more or empower her in some way it will be voted for. Even if it means she's now in basically a kill or be killed situation.

But Angra approves of her.

-edit-

Also, man is the wormverse fucked two ways to Sunday now that the holy grail is here and doing shit. No matter the winner, no matter the wish, every human is likely going to die if someone finally achieves victory.

Rejection 1.8
Rejection 1.8

"Young hero…"

The Holy Grail walked around Vista, stopping behind her. Vista felt the rope binding her get cut and fall off her frame. The bloody girl leaned over her, practically draping herself on the young heroine, and grabbed onto Vista's right hand. She felt the back of her palm burn.

"…you are now a Master. Rejoice. All your prayers will soon be answered."

There was a bright flash of light, and Vista was forced to close her eyes.

"Right then, time to pick a Servant for the girl. She doesn't really have much of a wish, so I guess focusing on character growth is the direction we need to go, right?"

[AGREEMENT]

"Okay. Well, she needs someone to help her grow and come into her own. She is young, which is something we should take into account, and she does still want to be a hero. Given all of this I think the Servant that can most help her grow and learn is…"

The son of Cronus and Philyra, and the famous centaur mentor of heroes that trained the likes of Herakles and Achilles, Chiron is summoned as an Archer.

Chiron died when hit mistakenly by Herakles with a poisoned arrow. The pain was so agonizing that he pleaded with the gods to allow him to die, and so the gods took away his immortality and honored him by creating the constellation Sagittarius. Chiron, whose immortal parents had never loved him and who never spared him any attention, still regrets his decision to give up that one thing that was proof of his heritage. Even if they did not care for him, even if he does not miss it, Chiron desires to regain his immortality just so he can have proof saying "yes, look at me, I am their child."

A small selfish wish, he knows, but it is his own.

Famed for his marksmanship, the constellation made in his honor depicts him with his bow drawn, and thus he is summoned as an Archer.

Chiron is kind and understanding, and seeks a balance between strictness and praise. He will make his Master his student, and perhaps even become their friend. Chiron is not of the disposition to instantly hate anyone save for the most unsavory of people.

Due to gifts of wisdom granted to him by the gods, Chiron is skilled in a wide variety of fields not expected of the Archer class. He is skilled in close combat, strategy, healing…to give an idea of the extent with which his proficiency reaches, he was the mentor of Asclepius, who later became the god of medicine.

Chiron has a lot to teach Vista, and will be more than willing to do so, but overall she will be allowed to grow of her own accord.

"I think this is what she needs."

[HELPING]

"WILL YOU QUIT IT WITH THAT!?"

"This one believes the one known as Angra Mainyu is being too gentle. There is one that can assist in the growth of the green one. One needs only look beyond the kind."

One of the Three Great Authors who wrote such masterpieces as "The Little Mermaid", "The Ugly Duckling" and many more, Hans Christian Andersen is summoned as a Caster.

He does not have any real wish for the Grail, possibly because he is a pessimistic man who did not obtain what he wanted in life and does not believe he can do so here. Yes, despite having managed to gain immortality within the collective consciousness of mankind through his works, he did not die happy or accomplished. Rather, he believes it is the ultimate fate of humans to live unhappy and to die without achieving their dreams. Even so, he does not laugh at the efforts of those who choose to "try hard to reach our dreams" simply because that is the sort of society he himself wished could exist.

Because of the manner in which his writing captured the hearts and minds of the populace, they have practically become mysteries in and of themselves, and as such he is summoned as a Caster despite not being a Magus in life.

Hans is blunt and harsh. The type to call someone a garbage person to their face with utmost sincerity and without a hint of ill intent. He has a skill known as Human Observation which grants him an intimate understanding of a person through simple observation, though it is not limited just to this. He can effectively hypothesize about a person's life, likes and beliefs even without knowing a person's name. This is the source of his pessimism and abrasive personality. He understands humanity and this just makes him ever more misanthropic.

He is summoned in the body of a child, perhaps due to the thoughts of his fans. Indeed, his skill, Innocent Monster has corrupted his body to be in line with his stories. His legs covered in merman scales, his arms covered in burns, his body riddled with frostbite…speaking puts him in pain, though he persists in speaking anyways. The love and admiration of his fans manifests on his form as intense pain that he must live with.

Hans can help teach Vista about herself and the world around her, and will not spare her any details or baby her, but he will also not spare her self esteem. He is not well suited to combat, but his support abilities can help Vista accomplish her goals.

"Now, isn't that a bit too much? I mean, look, we should just let that man be."

"The one known as Angra Mainyu is being too gentle. 'Growth'? No. Such a thing is not necessary. One that is harsh. One that will impose themselves upon the girl. One that will give her a wish, either through degradation or transmission. When the girl understands the truth of humans, she will have a wish. Either to eradicate that truth or repair it. The one known as Angra Mainyu should understand this one. This one learned about humanity from Angra Mainyu."

[HESITATION PROPOSAL COMPROMISE]

Two that normally could not be summoned, but which exist within reach. The system is broken, but not broken enough to summon either. However, if both were used to reinforce the other, then perhaps the monster of rationality and the Master who inherited a dream could be summoned as something new. A new existence that was at once both Zhuge Liang and Waver Velvet.

This existence of Zhuge Liang is unlike that of any human, and as such the existence of Waver Velvet is at the forefront. This new existence has the emotions and feelings of Waver while still maintaining the wisdom and skills of Zhuge Liang. The resulting existence is strict and harsh, but still human. They will not baby their Master, and if anything will seem like a harsh taskmaster. Waver's wish is one he inherited after seeing the beauty of it in his old Servant's memories. To reach Okeanos, the boundless sea, though he does not believe himself ready to reach such a place just yet.

Vista will remind him of his younger self. He dislikes his younger self.

Waver was a magus, and Zhuge Liang was a master of the mind. It is no wonder that they are summoned as a Caster.

This existence is a brilliant strategist and experienced teacher, but is averse to needless kindness. He signs most when advising and supporting another, and, perhaps due to the haphazard manner in which this Servant was created by the novice remnant, his skill as a magus is not that far removed from what a normal person could accomplish.

Waver will help support his Master's growth, but his relationship with them will be cold and distant. It will be difficult to get through to him and create trust.

"...The remnant is reckless. The system is in a state of fragility, yet it performs such a task."

"Lighten up some. Besides, this is rather impressive, and this man would save us the trouble of having to explain the war to the girl. Or, at least, he could probably explain things better than we could, or any of the other Servants could."

[AWKWARDNESS PLEASED]

"Still, while I appreciate the effort, this seems more like a proposal for our sake than one that you yourself want. So then, kohai, what is it that you want?"

"This one desires a nap."

"Shut up! No one is talking to you!"

"Male genitalia of a hound. That is what the one known as Angra Mainyu is."

The "son" of the famous King Arthur and the Knight of Treachery who managed to tarnish the glorious legend of his father, Mordred is summoned as a Saber.

Mordred, who once had dreams of becoming a great knight and hero, was rejected by her father again and again, looked upon with such disdain that her heroic spirit was slowly eroded, and she became the willing accomplice of her mother, Morgan Le Fey, and led a rebellion to overthrow King Arthur's rule. Mordred, who desired to be acknowledged by her father, desires not to wish for kingship, but instead to challenge the Sword of Appointment and prove without a doubt that she is worthy of being her father's heir.

Mordred was a skilled knight who managed to slay the famous King Arthur, though she died in the process, and as such she is naturally summoned as a Saber.

Mordred is cocky, abrasive, vindictive and brash. She fights with skill, but much like a Berserker she loses herself in battle, fighting with a wide grin and roaring like a wild animal. She detests being called girly, and demands to be treated like a prince, all the while wearing skimpy clothing and acting like a barbarian. She is a troublesome woman that would likely take offense to a meek Master.

Mordred loves to fight, and will seek conflict everywhere. Even her Noble Phantasm, which bears her father's name, enrages her, reminding her of old grudges, and thus drives her to fight more. She will cause problems, and thus conflict. But should an understanding be reached between Master and Servant then maybe Mordred can learn just as much from her Master as her Master can from her.

Two children seeking to prove themselves worthy to be heroes, whose parents spared them little love and whose lives were so dominated by the decisions of others...could they grow together?

"Uhh...that is a bit different from our choices, isn't it? ...HAHAHAHAHA! WELL THEN! I CAN'T SAY I'M AGAINST A BIT OF VIOLENCE, THOUGH! HAHAHA"

"This one cares little for the red Saber, but the proposal is not horrendous."

[INQUIRY]

"You are right of course, kohai. A decision must be made."

OPTIONS:

[] Archer (Chiron)

[] Caster (Hans Christian Andersen)

[] Caster (Zhuge Liang/Waver Velvet)

[] Saber (Mordred)

Chiron

Parameters
Strength: B
Endurance: B
Agility: A+
Mana: B
Luck: C
NP: A

Class Skills:
Independent Action: A
The ability to maintain one's form despite having no source of mana (A Master or Leyline), as well as giving autonomy to the Servant. High ranks normally come with high Egos as well, and are harder to control as a result of the rank.
It is possible to take action even without a Master. However, to use Noble Phantasms of great magical energy consumption, backup from the Master is necessary. At Rank A, it is possible for a Servant to stay in the world for about a week without a Master.

Magic Resistance: B
… It's magic resistance.
Cancel spells with a chant below three verses. Even if targeted by High-Thaumaturgy and Greater Rituals, it is difficult for them to be affected.

Personal Skills:
Clairvoyance: B+
A visual ability also known as Eagle Eye, grants superior visual perception and dynamic occipital capture, such as to supplement long-range aiming of projectile weapons. At high ranks, may give precognition.
Because of a good balance with the Eye of the Mind (True) Skill, limited future sight is possible.

Eye of the Mind (True): A
A heightened capacity for observation, refined through training, discipline and experience. A danger avoidance ability utilizing prior knowledge to predict an opponent's attacks and movements.
Capable of calm analysis of the abilities of the opponent as well as the battle conditions even when in danger and deduce an appropriate course of action after considering all possibilities to escape from a predicament.

Divinity: C
The measure of one's aptitude towards a Divine Spirit. At high ranks, one is considered a mixed race of divine spirit, while one's rank decreases with ranks in Monster and Demonic Beast or one's own dislike in the gods. It also has an effect which reduces special defensive values called 'purge defense' in proportion to the Divinity's Rank, being able to break through skills such as Protection of the Faith, and Enlightenment of the Sacred Fig.
An existence born between the Great Earth God (Cronus) and a Fairy. Just before his death, the body declined into a human body, and as a result, suffered a large Rank-Down from his original rank.

Wisdom of the Divine Gift: A+
A gift of wisdom granted by the Greek Gods.
Other than those characteristic of heroes, almost all other skills of proficiency B~A Rank can be displayed. Also, with a Master's agreement, other Servants can be granted Skills. However, this does not apply to Skills that originated from a different region or period.

Noble Phantasm:
Antares Snipe: A, Anti-Unit
A shot that shoots a shooting star. It is not a bowshot, instead being a Star sending forth a comet shot that holds tracking capability. It is capable of being fired by moving one's fingers away from their already drawn bow, and doesn't require its name to be uttered, nor mana to fire. It does not have much attack power, resulting in most uses of it to be planned in advance before it is used. Can only be used once per night, and will activate upon his death.
Note: A Great Mentor. Methodical and planning albeit with low attack power surprisingly. Extremely high compatibilty, middling power, middling long-term gain.

Hans Christian Andersen

Parameters
Strength: E
Endurance: E
Agility: E
Mana: EX
Luck: E
NP: C

Class Skills:
Item Construction: C
The ability to manufacture magical items, from instruments of war to daily use items. Requires the components and time to create.
While Andersen does not know magecraft, by putting his Noble Phantasm to practical use, it seems he can more or less produce what can be found in his literary works. It appears his specialty item is "a love letter that conveys your feelings, 100%", but considering Andersen's own experience with love, that doesn't seem likely; even if it is, it's impossible to request.

Territory Creation: D
A skill meant to create a special terrain that is advantageous to the user for some purpose.
In the case of Andersen, it was not intended to intercept incoming enemies, but rather, it is a type of territory that will bewilder even his own Master's eyes, not to mention his enemies too. He makes a Study in a place that no one will find and provides support, or rather, the movements of his writing brush, from there. A certain Master who had lost her patience for the first time in her life in regards to this Servant's extensive support, or rather, negligence, made a small box, confined Andersen in it and urged him to continue writing.

Personal Skills:
High-Speed Incantation: E
The ability to speak magical incantations at an accelerated speed.
In the case of Hans Christian Andersen, rather than expedience in spell recitation, this Skill gives a small benefit to his writing speed at which he is capable of generating publication drafts.

Innocent Monster: D
An attribute possessed by Servants whose true history and existence have been distorted by the monstrous reputations and gossips they accrued across the course of their life and thereafter, without concern for the actual person's will or appearance. As a consequence, the Servant's abilities and appearance have been rendered to conform to the specifications of their legend. Incidentally, this Personal Skill cannot be removed.
In the case of Hans Christian Andersen, distortion is rendered by the Curses of the Readers. Having become too famous as a writer of fairy tales, Andersen's original personality is being painted over by the image of a writer of fairy tales. Andersen, who has materialized as a Servant, is having his limbs eroded by the images of fairy tales that represent him. It's hidden by his western-style clothing, but the skin underneath is afflicted by merman scales, match burns, and frostbite, and when he speaks, his throat is sliced with intense pain.

Human Observation: A
A technique to observe and understand people.
At this level, it is not simply observing but the capacity to hypothesize about one's livelihoods and preferences, and even the lives of people whose name are unknown. This requires a tremendous memory that does not forget easily. Andersen is known as a pessimist, but what lies at his foundation is not rejection but understanding. What he can do is just to spin tales, but exactly for this reason he continuously vowed to remain more sincere than anyone else towards reciting.

Noble Phantasm:
Märchen Meines Lebens: C+, Anti-Unit
The unpolished manuscript of Hans Christian Andersen's autobiography. Each page is filled with the magical power of all who know and love Andersen's works, and take the shape of the Andersen that the readers felt they saw. The true worth of this Noble Phantasm is to make a single human into a single leading character, in a manner similar to the creation of a story.
The book must be wiped clean before a second individual may be the target of the Noble Phantasm, and then the story begins with progress of the story reflecting in the individual. Should the end of the tale be reached, the ideal of the individual will be reached. Be aware, that Hans has gloom and pessimism etched into his soul and sees death as the finale that all humans work towards.
Note: Be careful what you wish for. Low compatibility, high long-term gain.

Waver Velvet

Parameters
Strength: E
Endurance: E
Agility: D
Mana: A+
Luck: B+
NP: A

Class Skills:
Item Construction: B
The ability to manufacture magical items, from instruments of war to daily use items. Requires the components and time to create.
By borrowing Zhuge Liang's power, Caster can create various weapons and items from the man's legend. However, only an item of immortality, something of which Zhuge Liang did not obtain, could not be reproduced.

Territory Creation: A
A skill meant to create a special terrain that is advantageous to the user for some purpose.
Creation of the 'Stone Sentinel Maze', which is superior to a 'Workshop', becomes possible.

Personal Skills:
Discerning Eyes: A
An even narrower technique of Human Observation.
The judgement for in which shape the targeted human will acquire usefulness in the future is extremely outstanding. However, for that purpose, it is necessary to understand the person's weak points by seeing their conversation patterns and appearances to a certain extent.

Advice of the Strategist: A+
A Skill given to military-affiliated Servants. By grasping and analyzing the situation, correct advice can be given to one's allies. The higher the rank, the better the probability of the advice given being correct
At Rank A+, the advice given will be 100% correct even if it contains any unforeseen circumstances in enacting the advice. For enemies to counter this, it is required to have a level of fortune or skill to overcome any analysis conjured by the user of this Skill.

Command of the Strategist: A+
A Skill given to military-affiliated Servants. Maximizes the power of allied troops as an army, including oneself
At Rank A+, it has the power equivalent to making troops as determined as soldiers who know they are going to die, thus they will fight unto their deaths and until their life are exhausted.

Noble Phantasm:
Unreturning Army: C, Anti-Army
As a Noble Phantasm, it becomes a High-Thaumaturgy that can forcibly change the area where the enemies are staying into the Stone Sentinel Maze. Unless they escape from the Stone Sentinel Maze, the trapped targets will accumulate additional damage each turn

Chu Shi Bao: EX, Anti-Army
Unknown effects.
Note: … Thankfully the Monster is kept at bay by a young man. Low compatibilty, high long-term benefits.

Mordred

Parameters
Strength: B+
Endurance: A
Agility: B
Mana: B
Luck: D
NP: A

Class Skills:
Magic Resistance: B
… It's magic resistance.
Cancel spells with a chant below three verses. Even if targeted by High-Thaumaturgy and Greater Rituals, it is difficult for them to be affected.

Riding: B
The ability one has to ride mounts and vehicles. Can't be used to ride Dragons.
Most vehicles and animals can be handled with above average skill, even vehicles that did not exist in the time period one was alive in, for they are no exception. However, cannot ride the likes of Phantasmal Species such as Monstrous Beasts.

Personal Skills:
Instinct: B
The ability to instantly identify "the best personal course of action" during combat. Because this Skill allows for the prediction of trajectory, it is possible to avoid attacks from firearms.
Through this ability, it is possible to halve the penalties inflicted by visual and auditory interference.

Mana Burst: A
The increase of performance brought about by infusing one's weapons and body with magical energy and instantly expelling it. I.E. the recreation of a jet burst by using magic energy.
With this, she/he is able to fight equally with the King of Knights.

Helm of Hidden Infidelity: EX
The Helm of Mordred, Secret of Pedigree utilized as a Spell rather than a Noble Phantasm.
Originally it was a Noble Phantasm, not a Skill. The helmet of Mordred given to her/him by Morgan along with the words "You must not remove". Status information pertaining to her/him True Name as a Heroic Spirit, innate Skills, and data on her/him Noble Phantasms are hidden and cannot be read. However, when releasing the full power of Clarent, she/he has to remove the helmet.

Noble Phantasm:
Clarent: C, Anti-Unit
The Sword of Kingship denoting the succession of the throne. Due to Mordred stealing it away, it does not grant its normal benefits.

Clarent Blood Arthur: A+, Anti-Army
The transformation of Clarent into an evil sword filled with Mordred's Hatred for her/his Father. An application of Mana Burst lights the sword in red lightning filled with hate, magic energy glowing along the entire blade. While like this, the blade possesses a curse-like Glory, making Mordred feel like no-one but her/his Father may be allowed to defeat her/him. Secret of Pedigree is released in order for this to be utilized, while the area around her/him is coated in dark red blood. Usage of it destroys most anything in a straight line, while giving her/him intense pain throughout her/his body, though with competency from her Master, she may shrug it off.
Note: Medium Compatibility, High issues, and poor decisions. Low long-term gain.

I feel like Mordred would result in a trainwreck. But I kind of want her for that reason, even though I think Chiron would be better for Vista

[X] Saber (Mordred)
We must have at least one Saberface, or it really isn't a Grail War. :lol

Also, I can see Vista and Mordred getting along awesomely. Rather than having someone to "teach" Vista, she'll be "someone who learns with her."

[X] Saber (Mordred)

As I once read in a signature somewhere... DATA FOR THE THINKER! CONFLICT FOR THE WARRIOR!

Someone did this for the last Servant choice, and I figured it was a good idea
(also, wow, damn, all these Mordred votes...I BELIEVE IN YOU OTHER PEOPLES! I BELIEVE YOU CAN MAKE A COMEBACK!)

Chiron is one of my favorite characters, I mean look at this fight people! Chiron is the brown-haired one.

I like the idea of giving Vista mordred. It will truly test them character-wise, and give them some interesting arcs. Especially concerning Armsmaster. Further, Vista is not much of a combatant, so giving her a heavy hitter should even things out.
