Awakened Mook quest

Just so people understand, the defuse the situation option will likely not endear you as much to either character, the higher ups will probably appreciate it though. The other two options would damage your relationship with one for a decent boost to the other.

Right, Time to roll. 2d6 please?
Also, fair warning for this update, things are probably about to go to shit. So get ready for a fight.

Story/Lore dump 1, Of earth and stars.
Alright, I'm going to make a bit of a lore post explaining the current situation and what's happening, otherwise what's about to happen may not make much sense.
It is 2158, and the earth stands alone. The long night rages on, with the last transmissions from any EDF or allied forces from outside of earth local space being received 3 years ago. Any resistance to the new order outside of earth is presumed to be gone.
The resistance won their freedom 5 years ago, in a second war of independence that bloodied the stars and was won by the efforts of combat mages. You see, while mages have always existed, something about orbital and low gravity colonies causes a much higher mage birthrate, where before only a few were strong enough to become flight capable combat mages, now, with the conditions and freedom of space combat, that became a much higher number.
And in this era, Combat mages dominate the skies. Their minuscule size, high resilience to damage, ridiculous operating range, and high firepower make them king in space combat. And so, with earth and their allies on mars outnumbered, they lost the orbital and lunar colonies. On its own this was a massive loss, as those colonies were a massive source of food and raw materials for earth and mars. But, what was worse was the ideology that was birthed among the colonies during their rebellion.
A mage supremacist group had taken control of the mage branch of their army, and even after they won their independence, they kept up the war. Nearly completely exterminating any non mages in the colonies, and seizing total control over mars, turning the martian cities into a sort of concentration camp for non mages, and securing it under the idea that without mars or some other source of organics and raw minerals, the colonies would be unable to grow. Even luna has fallen, and rebel convoys have been detected going to and from it, along with the other near earth colonies, such as the earth orbitals. They seem to be building something, but the EDF has no idea what...

Sooo... these were mutually exclusive to one another then?
I'll admit that I was kinda thinking that you were moving more towards a moral grey setting with your earlier comments about the characters. But instead we got Space Not!Nazis. Yeah this felt a bit out of left field if I'm being perfectly frank with you, and I'm really not sure how I feel about it yet.

Eh, Yeah, it's setting up a cool show thing though. And The supremacist group isn't the sole group among the rebels, they just managed to get people in the right places to do this.

I'm happy you're not as addicted to new paragraphs as most of the authors on SV, but some line breaks at least would do this a world of good.

I'm wondering if I should retcon the lore dump... At least part of it, specifically everything but the bit about the rebels having more mages.
