Our name is 5H1R0, also it's traditional for an obvious robot to be a man, if y'all wanted a woman you should have gone with the extremely human-like humunculus option. Female robots that are obviously such can be somewhat creepy.

We could go for less detail but still more character than a flashligh-head.
Or a holo-face like echo from overwatch... nevermind, upon image searching that's still kind of creepy.

Perhaps I should clarify a bit as my previous post might have been a bit misleading.

It's less about the character being female and a robot. It's more about the fact that choosing to be a girl, especially in a Mecha, very typically leads to the love interest route. For entirely personal reasons the idea of that kind of relationship between a human dude and a female robot I find rather weird, and a little off putting.

Edit: On an entirely separate note, if we do end up as a woman that isn't a bad pic.

Of note is the fact that the love interest route would probably still be open if you choose male, or maybe even "other" , depending on the character. In addition, to be clear, you look like/may wear the same sort of suit a normal human mage wears, including a helmet, which hides your face.
Edit: Additional clarification, 5H1R0 Looks androgynous, looking like one gender in particular is something you aren't notable enough for.

And the instant we lose said helmet everyone becomes immediately aware of our true nature, hell considering our robotic voice they would become aware the second we open our mouth. And while being male still leaves it open it drastically decreases the likelihood and we'd be far more likely end up as 'one of the guys'.

A thought. Once we've had our promotion to Mauve Shirt, we'll still have to be careful. Because then we can be killed for emotional impact.

    The hangar contains a small squadron of fighters and 3 shuttles waiting to be launched, along with a full battalion's worth of mage's flight rigs and gandrs. It's a hub of activity, so nobody really notices you as you wander around. You watch as the maintenance crews scurry about, repairing and rearming the patrols that are to be sent out again. A small squad of mages are getting on their flight rigs and preparing to sortie aboard a shuttle. One of the technicians looks up at you as you wander around. "Ah 5H1R0. Mind if I just call you Shiro? Anyway, get ready, you're going to be sortieing on a routine patrol with some new guy and an ace, so go meet up with the team in the armory over there and get ready." He points you to a door across the hangar. When you walk over you find yourself in the presence of two major characters. One is the mercenary ace known as the Lightning Bow, her name earned through extensive use of a Bow style Gandr and lightning magic, you hear she's something of a sniper. The new guy meanwhile apparently distinguished himself in the battle for the falling colony. As you're walking in you notice that the two don't seem to see eye to eye on things, namely the new guy disapproves of the fact that the person he's going to be flying with is a Merc, from the creative insults questioning her loyalty and whether she will shoot him in the back. Worst part is, she looks tempted to do just that, being rather annoyed with him continuing to insult her over this. What do you do? (You may write in what you specifically say with any of these options)
    [ ] Try to defuse the situation and calm both down. (Charisma roll to successfully defuse)
    [ ] Take the new guy's side, saying you'll make sure she doesn't shoot him in the back.
    [ ] Tell the new guy to knock it off, taking the Ace's side, telling him that if he tries to kill her or otherwise lets this get in the way of your objectives you will not tolerate it.
