Associate Professor Schnee of Beacon Academy (RWBY AU)

So question who's up for faunus waifu to piss off pops? :V

I'd rather we not hit on any of our students, so that limits us to OCs. Or Raven, I guess, some people think she and Qrow're actually faunus (because of a comment from the writers that one of the characters we already know is part-faunus, some people assume it's Yang).

Well KK could always whip up Blake's older sister oc. :V

Blake: Darn it Sis! Stop playing the stereotype!

Hey, there's nothing wrong with being tacky. Just ask Weird Al.
As much as I enjoy Weird Al's works, I can't say it's something I exactly want. More like a joke that would get stale real fast.

Also, it should be noted as a Schnee we automatically get Dust Savant, so I would recommend you put in another specialty. I favor Aura Specialist myself.

I chose 3 specialties. We get 3 specialties in addition to Dust Savant.

[X] Plan Leingod

I really like this plan, although I think Auric Adept would be more useful than International Hunter as it would allow Arwyn to take over Glynda's class load, but that is my personal preference I suppose.

Gonna close up the votes since Arwyn Schnee has a good lead.

Once the update comes out, please feel free to throw your hands up in despair as your carefully laid plans are burnt to cinders. Conversely, let the thoughts of worthless shipping consume you in a ball of fire~

Gonna be honest here. Choosing to reveal our real name the moment we get a teaching gig and the IC reasoning behind it is bothering me somewhat fierce.

It reads as a very selfish choice that'll stir up a lot of unneeded shit. It's the kind of bagage a teacher should keep private and not let his students get caught up in.

Character Creation 3

---

You blink can only blink in reaction to the Headmaster's waved apology. Apparently telling him that you were actually a Schnee in disguise for the past seven years of your life wasn't anything to comment on, but a simple miscommunication would lead to him being ever so slightly flustered?

Such a strange man. Expected for a Hunter of his years and caliber, but odd nonetheless. You do have a question that needs readdressing, however.

"Without a doubt Headmaster, my strongest trait would be my own will. It wasn't easy abandoning everything like I did, but I kept true to a dream and succeeded in doing something no one else in my family has done barring my grandfather. He's the one who taught me to be the man I am today and I plan on continuing on the path to one day redeeming one family's good name the only way that is right. I-"

The Headmaster of Beacon raises a single eyebrow and you chuckle in abashment.

"I suppose that my worst point would be the opposite end of the same coin. You see sir, I am quite stubborn. It's… hard for me to see things from another way despite my best efforts. While it is a quality I'm slowly learning to overcome, there are times when I admittedly cannot see through my own pigheadedness and simply barrel on through whatever decision I've reached. It took several people close to me pointing it out and not just with words for me to finally see past my own nose." You finish ruefully with a hand rubbing against your jaw where your partner had smashed you across the face during an especially tense mission during your Trial.

At this Professor Ozpin simply smiles charitably before placing down his mug and pushing towards you a large stack of documents drenched in size 6 legalese.

"Well Mr. Schnee, I do believe we have a place for you here at Beacon. Shall we speak of work details?" You swear that you can see something nefarious twinkling behind his eyes as your face falls upon the dozens of forms you'll be filling out for at least the next few hours.

Sometimes you think the only reason why your Grandfather didn't work himself to death instead of allowing your Father to take the reins was because he was finally beaten by the one thing he couldn't destroy with his bare hands.

Paperwork.

VOTE BY PLAN!!!!

[ ] Assistant Professor: "You are certainly more than qualified for this position, but I understand if you wish to begin your tenure here cautiously. Our senior faculty would most definitively appreciate any help you could provide them."
Action Dice: 12 (Out of every option this one gives you the most time to do things, but you have lesser influence in Beacon)
Class Load: The number and type of courses you are allowed to teach.
  • 2 Elective courses taught exclusively by you or,
  • 1 Primary course and 2 elective courses as an assistant to senior professors or,
  • 4 Elective courses as an assistant to senior professors
[ ] Associate Professor: "Given your professional experience it is my belief that this would be the position most suited for you at this time. A chance to prove yourself capable while having the assurance of a seasoned instructor at your back should you fall."
Action Dice: 10 (The middle ground between the choices)
Class Load: The number and type of courses you are allowed to teach.
  • 3 Elective courses or,
  • 1 Primary course and 2 elective courses*
* For your primary course you will have free reign over the 1st and 2nd years, but 3rd and 4th year instruction will be taught by a senior professor with you assisting*

[ ] Professor: "Measured ambition is good to have and it is you who knows yourself best. If you believe you can do this, I will have faith in your word, but verification through your actions."
Action Dice: 8 (Out of every option this one gives you the least time to do stuff but the most starting authority)
Class Load: The number and type of courses you are allowed to teach.
  • 4 Elective courses or,
  • 1 Primary course and 2 elective courses or,
  • 2 Primary courses

Hours later...

"Now that the matter of your employment is out of the way, perhaps we could talk about which courses you wish to instruct? The following should fit well within your professional ability."

You think very impolite things in Atlesian

Choices for classes

Primary Courses: The meat and bones of Beacon's coursework, these are the most important classes that students will take and will have to continue studying year after year.

[ ] Anti-Grimm Combat 1-4: This is the enemy and I'm going to teach you how to hunt them.

[ ] Anti-Auric Combat 1-4: It isn't just grimm you'll have to fight out there, there are plenty of bad people out there just as strong if not stronger than you are.

Mandatory Elective Courses: Mandatory as in these classes are important enough to be considered so and Elective only because they take a single year to complete. All course listed here have two parts to the course, the General course and the Advanced course of which only the General courses are mandatory to take.

[ ] General Combat 1: Sure laugh it off, but when you have a couple dozen guns pointed your way, suddenly unpowered opposition seems much more dangerous.

[ ] Grimm Studies 1: It's one thing to know how to kill grimm, it's another entirely to know more than stab here to kill.

[ ] Dust Arts 1: If you're here to learn about explosions, you're in the wrong class. Here you'll be learning everything else about how to use dust to destroy your enemies.

[ ] Governments of Remnant and Her Kingdoms 1: Listen up! I can't stress the importance of knowing about how each Kingdom works, especially when you'll be expected to travel across the world as Elite Huntsmen and Huntresses.

[ ] People of Remnant and Their Cultures 1: You can't protect what you can't understand and you can't be taken seriously by the Mistralese if you don't even know how to use a pair of chopsticks.

[ ] Atlesian 1: Right, break up from your normal teams and divvy yourselves among the native Atlesian speakers. The best way to learn is to immerse yourself in a language-

[ ] Vacuoan 1: The hardest thing to learn about Vacuo's primary language is that there is no single line to trace, but dozens. Vacuoan Creole known commonly as Dusta is-

[ ] Hunter-Civilian Studies 1: I know this seems like a worthless class, but trust me when I say that it is imperative that you relearn how to speak with normal people.

Actual Elective Courses: These are classes considered less directly beneficial, but no less important to aspiring hunters and huntresses. Like mandatory classes, some of these courses are meant to be taken in two parts, but there are more than a handful of classes that are one off programs.

[ ] Personal Combat 1: You won't always have someone to watch your back. I'm going to teach you how to rely on your own strength to make it back home.

[ ] Dust Chemistry 1: If you're looking for how to make dust explode, you're in the right place.

[ ] Hunter Societies of Remnant: You only have take a single look at the library section on Hunters to see that there are countless groups in the history of Remnant that fill our role.

[ ] Knight Orders of Remnant: The Auric Crusaders of the modern age. Here you'll learn everything you need to about the creeds, histories, and missions of the various Knight Orders around the world.

[ ] The Frontier and Its Peoples: Most of you think it's suicide to live outside the walls of our great cities. A few of you here know that such a life is not only possible, but viable.

[ ] How to Deal with the Press and Live: Yes, I know. All of you are going to become heroes one day. Here's how you deal with being one.

[ ] Criminal Investigations 1: Any of you ever watch that old show Scooby Dew? Never. Ever. Split the party.

[ ] Our Place Among Government Run Organizations: We as huntsmen are neither a military force, nor a civilian one, yet we are a government organization that abides by a certain structure.

Finally done with the forms, you stand up and lightly shrug your shoulders to rid yourself of the tenseness and move to shake the headmaster's hand.

"I believe this concludes our current business. Feel free to take some time off to prepare yourself for the coming year as this month draws to a close. Might you take time to consider becoming a Student Counselor for this year's class? You are rather infamous as Nicholas Glatteis and you will only gather ever more adoration once you reveal yourself as Arwyn Schnee, the long lost son of the Schnee corporation who threw off his chains to seek freedom and a life of his own. Quite the fairy tale indeed." He finishes, once more sitting down after a firm handshake.

"To be fair however, I'm sure your time in Shade Academy and your tenure as the former heir to your family business that you would be most suited to mentor one of our numerous Clubs as you know we have lost several staff members who were in that position. In any case, I suggest you take some time to gird yourself. The… vultures will likely soon come circling to spoon up 'scoops' of your undoubtedly extraordinary tale." He notes before placidly sipping once more from his mug watching you momentarily pause as you leave his office.

-

While you are more than glad that the hiring process is over there is no time to relax. You only have a month before Beacon opens its gates and there are more than a few things you need to get done.

-

How actions work: You have a number of 1d100's and may split them up between your monthly choices as you please. Certain events, items, people (TA's/Slaves), or actions may temporarily or permanantly increase or decrease your useable dice! Good omakes will net dice as well :3

Speaking of which I'll probably do a thing like I did in Soldiers Without Borders where you guys will be able to create OC's in a separate thread that will make appearances in the main story through your omakes and Arwyn's own actions. Beacon is pretty big and every good donut needs a filling! (Subjectively)

So… what do?

Prepare the semester's course material: Given you haven't ever been in a teaching position before, you better get ready. Hotshot wannabe Elites aren't the best of students and the ice cubes won't really be much better. So, you'll have something or another planned.
Primary Class DC: 80
Elective Class DC: 35
Reward: Lowers the teaching action DC of chosen classes by 5 for the Fall semester
[ ] Prepare (Insert Primary Class)
[ ] Prepare (Insert Elective Class)
[ ] etc

Get familiar with the Faculty: You'll be working with these people, so you should get to know them at least somewhat before the semester starts.
DC: No check required, but it does cost 1 dice to meet with faculty members

[ ] Headmaster Ozpin
[ ] Deputy Headmistress Glynda Goodwitch
[ ] Professor Peter Port
[ ] Professor Bartholomew Oobleck
[ ] Professor Paula Peach
[ ] Professor… Ember Autumn? Another recent hire?

There's a few new faces being hired alongside you?
[ ] Sounds good, we could use the help (Q, REN, and ARC hired as new staff)
[ ] We need more teachers, yes, but… maybe they're not what we're looking for? (No further appearances from available PC choices and new OC Professors will be introduced later)

Someone needs to test out the prospects without formal combat schooling. Looks like you're stepping up.
DC: No check required, but it does cost 1 dice to test a prospect
-[ ] Blake Belladonna "!?" *Twitch*
-[ ] Jaune Arc "H-hi there! So uh, you're the Professor testing me?"
-[ ] Ruby Rose "Whaaaaat!? Professor Ozpin didn't say anything about a test before the test!?"
-[ ] Weiss Schnee… ah. "B-Brother?"
