I mean it in the sense "the better you are at fighting Grimm without using your semblance, the less likely it's that someone questions you for not using your semblance".
As long as we don't actually need it, it shouldn't be too unusual not to show it. Do you know the Semblance of any canonical teacher besides Glynda?
You know we can't compare the amount of screentime characters have in the show with how it would happen here (How many semblances do we know esplicity after all?), for once it would probably come up on our job interview.

Ruby, Yang, Blake, Weiss, Pyrrha, and Nora for the main cast have explicitly named, described, and/or semblances.
Secondary characters/villains under that category include Neopolitan, Emerald, Velvet, and Glynda.
Shown but not described/named primary/secondary/villain characters include Jaune, Cinder, Qrow, Sun, and Ozpin.
Semblances are pretty damn important at all levels of the RWBY cast.

Are you guys sure you want to do Teachers Wanted? Even with both action bonuses and your Intrigue stat, it still has a 35% chance of outright failure...
1. Damn right I want Beacon Academy! And odds are so do alot of other people!
2. You do realize your warning is either going do absolutely nothing, or make sure nobody votes for that option ever again, right?

Omake Policy
I accept omakes, and if I particularly enjoy an omake more than 500 words long, will award a +10 or greater bonus to a roll related to the omake. The same benefit applies to reaction and analysis votes - though that's 500 of your own words, mind you.

Edit:
I'll note that I'm using a system stolen from inspired by @Sage_Of_Eyes for distributing omake bonuses, and am applying the one-omake-bonus per action limitation as well.

I want to try to take over Beacon while it's still forming. Even with the risks, it's one of the best leads to corrupting the future

A Dangerous Gamble

"Ms. Chesire, I must admit you have quiet the impressive resume." The Headmaster of the newly constructed Beacon Academy said as he looked over her papers. "Since your move here from Mistral there have been nothing but good things to say about you."

Clarise Chesire smiled as she sipped her tea in the chair across from the Headmaster's desk. "Please sir, you're too kind."

"No I must admit, it's very good. Hunter teams you've partnered up with have given nothing but stellar reviews about your skills and leadership with even a few saying they owe you their life in this troubled time of Grimm resurgence. Your neighbors call you a pleasant and caring young woman and only have positive things to say. Your interest in archeology and history will go quiet well with founding our own department. And to top it all off you seem quiet the campaigner for Faunus rights. In all, I'd say you're exactly the kind of person we need teaching the young hunters and huntresses of the future."

Clarise blushed slightly at the praise.

"I...I don't really know what to say sir. I've just been doing what I think is right. Honestly, all I want is to be a part of this time of rebuilding so that we don't repeat the mistakes of the past."

The headmaster smiled as he walked over to the window, showing the construction teams putting the finishing touches on the swiftly constructed Academy.

"Ah yes, the mistakes of the past. With the Empire gone only now can we see them clearly. I suppose in a way they mark us all, such as the death of your family when the library burned."

Clarise looked down into her shaking tea cup, her other hand clenched into a pale tight fist.

"I apologize for bringing up such a thing Ms. Chesire. Though I too have felt the sting of lose. I lost my two brothers in Mantle, right at the end of the war. Even now I don't think I'm fully over their deaths."

He coughed as he adjusted his glasses.

"But I don't mean to poke at old wounds. In fact I found that they can become a source of great strength."

"On that sir, we can agree." Clarise said.

The Headmaster resumed his spot on his side of the desk.

"There is of course one small problem with giving you this job. And while a minor thing, I must admit it presents a very serious obstacle."

"And what would that be sir?"

The headmaster's body tightened in his chair.

"That you're not who you claim to be."

Clarise looked shocked as she stammered.

"W-what do you mean by that sir? I thought I settled all my papers with the immigration bureau."

"I think you know very well what I meant, Ms. Wrachïod Krom."

Before the first syllable of her name was finished she was moving. A kick sent the desk toward the headmaster while the other propelled her toward the window. Suspecting an attack, the headmaster simply smashed through his desk and moved to intercept. A barrier appeared in his way as his blow sent deep cracks through the opaque aura construct. A blow shattered the reinforced glass as Wrachïod leapt free down into the courtyard, cratering the smooth stone as she landed.

Cursing under her breath, she raised transparent barriers all around as her ambushers moved in. Sniper teams had their shots blocked by the all but impenetrable barriers. Hunter teams of teachers lent their own firepower to the exchange. It was all she could do to keep reinforcing her barriers sealing her from her assailants. It was quiet a tricky situation to get out of.

Tricky, but not impossible for a woman of her skills.

"Ms. Krom!" The headmaster called as he landed in the courtyard. "Please! The war is over! Your father is dead and your Empire is gone! Lay down your arms and please let us settle this peacefully."

"Why? So you and the rest of your traitors can execute me and parade my body around like you did my father? No thanks."

She sent out a wide stream of bone scorching fire, driving the closer hunters back while maintaining her barriers.

"We were safe. Everything my ancestors did was to keep everyone safe. My father's armies kept you all safe. Every policy. Every single thing that was done was calculated, weighed, and approved for that one idea. Safety. And you repaid him, your protector, with treason! And now look at you, playing King with your house of cards. You may have your freedom but where is your stability?! Where is your safety?! You tore the Empire apart for your cheap vanity. Freedom and individuality are little comfort against a horde of Grimm."

"And this will bring the Empire back? Burning libraries and murdering innocents?"

"No. It won't."

"Then why?" The Headmaster implored. "Why are you doing this?"

"Because I want to look on while your little houses of cards fall down all around you. Because I want to see the pain in every traitor's eyes as everything they love is ripped away from them."

She smiled a dangerous smile with glinting teeth.

"Because I want to burn it all down and laugh in the ashes."

Reinforcements arrived. The Hunter teams around the school converged to join up with the original ambushers.

"And now it begins." Wrachïod said. It was time to go on the offensive. Glyphs danced around her body while Grimm summons surrounded her. Manticores, Griffons, and worse came into being, pulsing with malevolent looking energy.

"No. Now, it ends." The Headmaster said.

Battle was joined.

Application Sorting by islanderninja (Noncanon) (+10)
Wanted Redshirt Army to take a look at this before I posted this up but...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Your name is Maize Gardener and you are the unfortunate Personal Assistant to the Headmaster of the newly built Beacon Academy. It was to be an academy that would house some of Remnant's brightest minds who would impart their knowledge to the next generation. It would hold the contents of the Royal Library of Vale which would be studied by both students and teachers. It was to be a 'Beacon of hope' amidst the darkness of the Grimm.
Then the 'Fire of the Library' occurred. The Royal Library was burnt to the ground and its contents lost. The fire spread to the nearby buildings, causing them to collapse and killing those that couldn't escape in time. You would later hear that it was because of the actions of the Faunas labourers that fire was finally contained but by then it was too late. The civilians panicked.
You sigh softly as you remember the old saying: With panic, comes fear. With fear, comes the Grimm. With the Grimm, comes death.
Yourself and other Hunters were celebrating were caught off guard when the fire occurred. Many had left their weapons behind because of the celebrations, thinking that they were safe behind those walls. That proved to be a fatal mistake as the Grimm butchered those that been caught off guard. The civilians panicked in further which resulted in even more Grimm attacking. The Hunters were pressed as most fought unarmed until they could get to their weapons. Over an hour later, the Grimm were killed and you went to help to heal the injured.
No one knew how the fire started. An investigation was carried out but the cause couldn't be found. People speculated how it occurred and the rumours grew. Some said that the fire was caused by Faunus themselves in order to make themselves look good as they stopped the fire. Those rumours were thoroughly squashed by both humans and Faunus alike. You personally had heard some of the more outlandish ones. Caused by someone who wanted to escape their past and didn't want to be found. Really?
At least some good had come out of that disaster. Beacon Academy will open its doors to an influx of students who want to prevent something like the fire from happening. You personally hope that Faunus would be included in the academy's first batch of students as it would help bring both humans and Faunus together. The Headmaster had included a course that focuses on unarmed combat should a Hunter become separated from the weapon. The Faunus have better rights in Vale then anyway else due to the heroic actions of the Faunus labourers and actions of one Clarise Chesire.
Which brings you what you are currently doing: Sorting through the applications for teaching positions within Beacon Academy. When word got out about the loss of the Royal Library and its contents; some Hunters had withdrew their applications, saying that they only considered applying due to the ancients texts that would be housed there. You promptly shredded their résumé but it still hasn't gotten rid of the fact that you would need teachers to teach students.
You feel like calling it a day until you come across an application from Ms. Chesire. You quickly skim the contents and find everything in order. Her application states that she arrived from Mistral and was staying with relatives in Vale until the fire occurred. You wince at that. She strives to become stronger in order to prevent a tragedy like that from ever occurring. Ms. Chesire enjoys reading and studying ancients texts. You note that she might have enjoyed looking through the contents of the Royal Library had the fire not occurred. Her application ends with her stating that she believes in that both Humans and Faunus should stand together in order for them to stand a chance against the Grimm. In order for that to happen they should teach the races together when they are young in order to remove the racial discrimination.
Hmm... a human who supports equal rights between the two races and is constantly trying to improve herself to prevent tragedies from happening to anyone else. You place her résumé in the pile that the Headmaster would personally look through and sincerely hope that he would consider including her as a member of the staff.
You never repeat a specific phrase twice, and never thrice unless you are emphasizing something with it, and never four or more for any reason.]
Nice work overall though.
What Might Have Been 1 by Always Late (Alternative Canon)(+10)
What might have been 1
Ruby Rose sat in an interrogation room, kicking her feet under the metal table. A stern, middle-aged woman with blonde hair paced around her.
"I do hope you're aware of the gravity of your actions, young lady," the older woman remarked. "You've caused a lot of property damage and endangered several people." Ruby whimpered.
"If it were up to me, you'd be sent back to your uncle with a pat on the back..." Ruby briefly looked hopeful as the woman demonstratively patted her back before she continued, "And a slap on the wrist!" The riding crop punctuating her stinging remark on Ruby's wrist made her yip in surprise and pain. "However. There is someone who has better jurisdiction than I to discipline you." The door to the room opened.
"AUNTIE CHESHIRE!"
The red-hooded girl threw herself at the tall, pale woman in a blur of rose petals. As the teenager glomped her and babbled into her dress about how happy she was to see her again, the woman shook her head and gave a warm grin that masked cruel pride.
"Glynda, I do believe you've scared the poor girl enough. I'll take it from here."
Glynda briefly bobbed her head, "Yes, headmistress.", then left.
The disguised Princess Wrachïod Krom strode to the table with Ruby still clinging to her side. "Little Ruby, if you don't sit properly, you won't get any cookies."
As she placed the treats on the table, Ruby flung herself back into her seat with her semblance, sitting as upright and rigidly as she could.
The headmistress of Beacon sat across from Ruby, the plate of cookies in front of her. She took out a scroll, and pulled up some images taken from her surveillance system. Images of Ruby dueling two women, one with a bow-sword and the other with a spear and shield. Pushing the scroll across the table, she asked, "So… Qrow's been teaching you?"
Ruby nodded firmly. "Yes. I've applied myself wholeheartedly to my combat training, I obey everything Yang and Qrow tell me to do, and I always remember your lessons."
"Good, good…" Krom picked up a cookie from the plate and handed it to Ruby, who grabbed it and began devoured it almost faster than her eye could see. She's learned well...
"I've only seen one other so skilled at your age…" Two, if you count him...
"Y-y-you?", Ruby mumbled around her cookie.
"That's hardly a fair comparison, Little Ruby," the Beacon headmistress sardonically replied. "I was talking about your mother."
At that, Ruby paused in her chewing, before swallowing hard. "O-oh. Yeah. Mom…" As the teenage scythe-wielder stared off into something beyond the metal table in front of her, her 'aunt' cleared her throat, waiting for Ruby to snap to attention before continuing.
"I've seen in Qrow's reports that you've stated you'll be attending Beacon in two years. Why do you want to go here? Haven's the most prestigious Academy in Remn-"
"THAT'S NOT TRUE!" Ruby's outburst took both women by surprise.
After a moment, Wrachïod Krom forced herself to suppress a burst of wicked laughter. "And why is that?" She asked, already knowing the answer.
Ruby paused before steeling her nerves and continuing, "Because it's not run by you! You know more about Grimm, more about Dust, Aura, semblances, fighting, more about anything than anyone else in the world! Yang's going to start this year, I know Mom and Dad always said that you knew best for people, and I know I can be the best possible Huntress I can be if I learn under you!"
Now once-and-soon-to-be princess couldn't hold back her dark chuckles. "You want to learn at my feet?"
"More than anything." There was only joy in Ruby's voice.
The woman the world knew as Clarise Chesire pushed the rest of the plate across to Ruby. As the young girl gobbled down the remaining plate of cookies, Wrachïod Krom smirked. Soon, you'll be ready, Ruby Rose.
Ready to be reunited with your mother.
Anybody want more?
