Animus Ex Nihilo - A God Quest

I also believe the burial pits take priority over the healing domain. I really don't want to leave that laying out in the open for long.

looks like the mountain spirit is of the Punishing Nature, no wonder hes a asshole.
The name "Harsh Mountain" kinda implied already it.

Incidentally, if we assume that Harsh Mountain/Proud Waters/Sky Child were designed as a Land/Sea/Sky trio, this implies that Sky Child is predominantly nurturing.

... Looking at its behavour, I can see it.

[] Plan Explore, and Expand
- [] Bless the explorers. (Island Expedition) - 1 Power
- [] Bless the settlers. (Forest Village) - 1 Power
- [] Bless the settlers. (Shore Village) - Herald
- [] Heal the people. - 1 Power
- [] Protect the dead. - 1 Power
- [] Try to take the power of the pits for yourself. - 4 Power

I'm thinking we go with this. More villages settled by our people means more power for us as our population, and therefore power is limited by how many people the area around a village can support, and well having more power doesn't directly empower our ability to fight the Devourer it does allow us to take more actions which can gain us domains.

Healing the people is in here simply so that we don't lose the ability to claim the healing domain in the near future, and protecting the dead is meant to continue our efforts to starve out the Devourer hopefully with the help of our new death domain.

And, lastly, I want to try and claim the pit power ASAP before it possibly dissipates, and we lose our best chance of gaining a death domain which we can theoretically use to help us starve out the Devourer.

Good plan.

Because protecting the dead has a high failure rate though how about a sign to send the dead away from the sea for now?

The sheer amount of failures for protecting the dead makes me think this is more than a bad dice roll. We likely won't be able to protect the dead unless we do it differently.

I have high hopes that through the use of our new death domain that we'll be able to consume the power from the burial rituals before the Devourer so long as we're on guard against it which is why I included the action although I'm not one hundred percent certain we'll be able to do so which when combined with our power constraints is why I'm not doubling down on it by encouraging the practice.

I fear it is optimistic to think that we will outright gain the Death Domain. I fear that at most, we'll unlock it like we have Healing.

Yes, but even unlocking the possibility is a step forward. Since we can get that and go kill the devourer with a massive advantage.

Personally i want to bless people to go towards the island , it's pretty much in stronghold of our domain (sea) and i have a feeling that colony there has a potential to develop and surpasses our others colonies given that it will only need to focus on sea power for defense (which could later be translated into a merchant fleet).

Plus i like the Atlantis wibes.

As for other things, yea claiming the power of the pits takes precedence over healing domain , or everything else and it will be great boon before we go to deal with devourer.

We'd still want to grab the healing domain as well but depending on how much power we get from all our expansion we may be able to pick up both domains next turn even if Omega's fears turn out to be true although I doubt it since even if we do end up with twelve power (which I find unlikely I'd estimate closer to ten) people will most likely want to spend some power elsewhere.

I am blessing them.

I have a feeling that claiming power of the pits and defeating devourer will give us death domain.

It's also fits in our narrative legend, like Horus/Zeus defeating Set/Chronos and becoming Kings of the Gods.

Same can be said for us, Proud waters defeating great serpent of death and saving countless souls from it's jaws safe, guarding them on their journey between life and death and bringing healing to the deceased.

I feel as though the whole battle with the forest people might hang in Proud waters mind, perhaps healing and life is better than war and death?

I'd say so as well. It seems that prior to coming to us, the Sky Child was primarily patron to the nomads, who've been very polite and non confrontational compared to how nomads usually are lol. I appreciate that, since I don't see Proud Waters as ever being especially punishing themselves.

As to the burial grounds, I think we should claim it and try to do a life/death combo thing. Possibly something to do with psycopomps?

There's a moratorium, and you haven't assigned any power or the herald action.

Why not both ? "Proud Waters, Healer of the dead " has a nice sound to me.

fixed it
:p

My reasoning for the explorations is that exploring the northern icebergs with canoes might not be the best idea. The south village probably doesnt want to be found. The Forest village we need to build to smooth over our relations with the nomads and the island just seems to fit our domain too much to not try. (i use the herald here because we still dont have real ships so it might go poorly). The shore village they should be able to handle on their own.

The Healing domain thing is about Proud Waters being a nurturing deity, they might not feel that great after their people massacred an entire village, even if it was somewhat justified. They might want to do something good after that to get the bad taste out and prove to themself they are not evil.

@Soup Here's a moratorium-safe version. Also, you need the dashes for the sub-options to be counted as part of the plan.
